I was 13 in 1998. Triples were everywhere. Still the best sounding 2 stroke in American history I believe. Snowmobilings national anthem. 3 in a row makes em go!
I recall a grass drag event, 64' rupp chassis with a 1000 cat triple shoe horned in. 2nd pass, so much torque it mangled the bogie suspension and threw him over the bars about 200 feet in on the run. We thought we were fucked on the sidelines watching! Lol
My dad used to wrench and race for our local Polaris dealer back in the day. Small town Ellington, NY. Had a sled called "The Shooting Star". 440 wedge xcr chassis I believe. Gave 800's all they wanted in 1000'
Wow !!! Inspired me to go out and make the 1/ 2 " square blocks to poprivte 4 places to install the Fusion skid to the 2003 Edge chassis. As i hsve said in previous post, i made the fusion skid to be as close to the race skid as I could by buying as much from the race skid as i thought i could convert the consumer skid over to. Walkers both front and rear on skid. Btw i used the race 440 Fox dusl spring up ftont. Hsve a 800 XCR with VForce 2 reeds and 1/4" spacer to pull reeds out a ways for straighter shot to boost port. I opend the hole for the chsincase ( very carefully ) to accept the 2005 chaincase in order to use the phatom brake system. Lightweigt Jack shaft Race drilled caliper. Found a guy building the front " Torque Arm " from billet aluminum. It was a $130.00 but well worth it. The guy i got it ftom in 2011 was NINJAPLUMBER out of Ware Ma. For those that may want one.( if they are still being made ) dont think he is the oem manufacturer. Now they are saying SNOW in TAMPA this year (really !! ) so i gotta get the chassis down from the rafters start gettin to it 😅 Yea i know ,but never thought I'd be her 32 years. Love Michigan home state. Y'all have a great winter and get yer s**t together !!!!!!! 24 is going to be like no one has ever seen our great country go through EVER. for got the track is a brand new comoplast 1.5 ripsaw paddle Again ,,,,Thank you Todd for all your efforts through out the yesrs i watched you guys vids. GO FAST. TURN LEFT !!!! LYNN
Have a excellent winter guys ! I always wacth your videos whenever they pop up love the content so down to earth and real guys working on sleds I’m a articcat guy but wacthing your videos makes me want to hunt down a storm wedge cheers guys merry Christmas!!
I agree. Can anyone get them and just iron them on? It sounds like they need to be applied after the cover is already on the sled, I put a Scotty’s cover on my Storm that sure would look better with decals.
Looking sweet! I’d b a candidate for purchasing one of your triples when you’re ready to refresh the fleet. Have a good guys and I will have a seat for Nathan
Probably be bringing a '88 Indy 400 seat, tank cover and bar pad over to Nathan, hopefully he can do the original grey? Projects, already commented about a triple powered Widetrak. You won't regret having a 20x156" sled with low range and reverse. And for the 14 triples, I volunteer to come help, get them all on the lake in a line... set up a few microphones, get 14 voices of the Polaris National Anthem coming off the line at once!
Nice job as usual. I had one of those billet pull-start handles and I didn't like it, the recoil spring had trouble keeping it tight in the cold on a bumpy trail. This one turned out great wow.
Can’t wait to order one of them seat covers for mine those 2 covers look sweet was gunna use a saddle man till I saw this now I have a spare cover to use on a seld that just needs to get a cover otherwise purple piping is needed🤘🏻
Hey Todd, if your ever looking for another project might I suggest one of the last of the great triples. A 2000-2003 XCR 800. That to me is the absolute holy grail of muscle sleds. I should have bought one years ago when they were a little more plentiful, now those things are impossible to find in my area. Just a suggestion anyway. Keep up the great work, love watching your content.
I love the father and son work. Top quality to boot. I have a 99 xcr 800, pushed the trailing arm hard enough to roll up up the foot well. Curious what crc aggressive chassis sleds share parts?
Love these Ultra sleds. You guys do awesome work! My son just bought a 96 Ultra SP and is looking for some triple pipes. Wondering if you know anyone selling a set.
I got a 97 xc600 triple all modded out for the time. M10 suspension, triple pipes, and a bunch more. Runs good and looks good. Ive only put about 200 miles in the last 10 yrs. Under 3000 miles total on sled. You interested in buying another one?
The snowflap decal is awesome!! Where did you get it made? Also would love to talk to you about a ultra project that hopefully Trenton and yourself can help me out with.
Would you possibly be around next weekend for me to pickup my vice grip? I don’t have a ton going on then. Also if there’s any parts you’re looking for that I have you can have. I can message you on FB too
