Misfire detection ( codes 65590, 65591, 65592 )
These misfire codes have been a big problem for many folks without a way to prevent it from happening. Several dealerships have contacted me asking if I was able to disable that function
because they have unhappy customers and Polaris does not offer any help.
How does the ECU detect misfire?
The ECU reads fluctuations in crankshaft acceleration between revolutions. When there is a fluctuation in crankshaft speed beyond the programmed acceptable range then it activates the misfire code and disables the fuel injector on the the cylinder that the ECU thinks is misfiring. I have never actually witnessed a misfire code because of an actual cylinder misfire. It has always been because of a drive belt flat spot, large lug tires, belt slippage from water in the housing, a brand new drive belt can cause it, and even installing a tracks system on your machine can cause a misfire code.
The fix, ECU programming.
I discovered a way to disable the misfire detection system by turning the sensitivity of this system all the way down to the point where nothing is able to trigger the code. Our testing has proven this new programming eliminates this trouble code even in the most extreme situations.
Thank you all.
God bless
