Todd your stuff is great. Watch them all. Love it. You do know you have a disease with no cure. I only have a mild case. You got it bad. Best part. We enjoy it !!!
For your 1st mono block disassembly you made it look easy. Im also impressed with tge shape of the rotating assembly for 6500mi. Goes to show proper maintenance and good oil go a long ways.
Those engines were good as long as you didn't over rev them. The crankshaft would come out of time from harmonic vibration there just pressed together, I drilled and pinned the crank on one and then welded the pins in tuned the clutching to max out around 10k had tripple pipes on it thing was a beast, would beat new 850s off the line to 50mph I just sold them 2 years ago
Those monoblocks will run a long time with good oil and a bit of maintenance. I had a 93 special that i sold to a buddy. Last i heard it had over 23k miles and never been apart! Dad had a 97 limited, and it had 16k miles on it before he traded it in. Good luck on the build!
I had a brand new MXZ 583 in 97. There wasn’t a Polaris that could touch me. But I only work on Polaris triples now. They are good engines as long as you know how to make them sing.
My buddy had a new 96, I think, XLT. Back in the day they had wrist pin issues and his was fixed under warranty. I had the sled for a while and he has it back with about 6k on the clock. Still a good runner. Cheers!
Can't wait to see this thing come together! Excited to hear those AAEN pipes come to life too since I never got around to running my XLT with them on since I didn't wanna cut up my nice hood haha.
brings back memories of hating, 1st loving the mono block. then hating it. seems like I rebuilt more XLT's then any other Fuji motor. this was it before the storm 800 triple. well you had the 650s which were great. my dream triple would be a early 600 Fuji 1985 or 1986.
Hi there Todd how much for a trash can I have a 97 storm we have to be careful up here in Ontario Canada what's your thoughts on how loud it is? Great content by the way Mike Cormack 😊
Hi, what can cause a camshaft to move to one side, I got an XLT 600 from a friend, he told me that the engine lost power and after a few meters the engine locked up.
I drilled out the 6 bolt pattern in a piece of 1/4 " thick piece of metal put the 6 bolts in and just evenly tighten up like a head bolt at it pops right off never use only 3 easy way for anyone who doesn't have a welder to make a puller simple and effective
