And in the studio we use
►Rode VideoMic GO II amzn.to/3Skp837
For podcasting I recommend using a dynamic microphone as it will reject a lot of room sound and background noise. The most important part is to make sure you are as close as you can comfortably be. Using a pop filter can help reduce sibilance and plosives as well.
We just got a new dedicated audio recorder that is a much better option than using the camera's audio input - TASCAM 4-Channel Portable Audio Recorder - amzn.to/3FWPZxy

These newer films don't compare with the original films from the 90s - those were on a different level of sharpness and clarity
@AlexDerange
@AlexDerange 5 месяцев назад
they have to make them cheap enough for people to buy, which means a lower quality unfortunately I'm sure you can find much better film for a higher price
@Solaxe
@Solaxe 2 месяца назад
@@AlexDerange It's not them cheapening out, they lost the film formula and now have to start pretty much from scratch

Tip for the frog tongue...I usually flip the camera upside down with the photo pointing up, press the frame to my chest and then kind of pull down. That way the frame isn't exposed to the light. You'll get the hang of it. It truly is amazing how far we've come. I was (am?) an Impossible Project Pioneer and we used to have to do some crazy stuff to even get an image back in the day, haha. The latest batches of film seem to be super contrasty and I'm struggling to get a lot of keepers in the last year.
@LucyLumen

Ahhhhhhh that is a great idea!!!! Thank you 🙏🏻 haha I was really struggling with it but I get flustered really easy which is why I don’t shoot fully manual ever haha 😂 I remember buying impossible project film years ago when I started out with film Photography. I don’t shoot Polaroid super often only because it’s quite expensive…35mm is my favourite 😍👍🏻🎞

That's a fantastic looking camera and great shots! I also struggle with Polaroid but am still shooting some for Polaroid Week with some classic Polaroid cameras. But will def. keep the Now in mind if my old 'Roids die.

I've put a frog tongue in my SX-70 and SLR 680 since the old days when they were VERY necessary, and they don't cause any issues other than they do eventually tear after years (but are cheap and easy to replace). The one on my SX-70 Sonar is pretty rough, but still gets the job done after probably close to 4 years. That's such a fun gift! I've been really tempted to try the Now cameras, and you did well with it!
@LucyLumen
@LucyLumen 2 года назад
Thank you Jamie! It was a fun camera to shoot but I really just love the way they look if I could afford it I would have one in every colour haha 😂 I do think SX-70 film is the best and my favourite though…I haven’t tried the I-type film yet though. I have some Polaroid blue in the fridge hope to shoot that soon!

@@LucyLumen You're welcome! And yeah, that's definitely one thing from the super cheap days that I miss: Being able to buy all of the cameras. ha ha. But the 600 and I-Type films have started to catch up to SX-70 at last. I've found looking for the latest possible production date to be the best strategy. May-August 2021 all seems great so far.
@grahamfil777
@grahamfil777 2 года назад
Definitely prefer this one. It's as simple as the sx70. The one step+ has so many features that you end up constantly taking a bad photo cause there's so much steps to learn plus an app to download :/

Happy birthday Lucy !! Looks like you had fun. How did the Polaroid hold up in the heat. Heard it gets affected when it is hot. Need to try instant film as it seems fun and casual. We get only instax here.

Thank you lovely 😊 it held up really well I think but it was 32 and it definitely gets hotter than that here I’m December January so we will see. We took it out of the fridge the night before to come to room temp and not get condensation cause apparently that can happen…I have never owned an Instax camera but would love to try it!

was it a hot day ? it looks like you got heat marks ? i'm not sure how to say it, but your film comes out more red because it's not being kept at a cool enough temperature (Over 25°C films gets pink shades, and blue shades under 18°C, the shades becoming more and more visible as temperatures move further from these points)... if it's a hot day, you should try to keep your film in a small cooler, as well as your camera if you can

The keeper rate on new iType film with the Polaroid Go is really low for me. Sucks because when they do come out, I love it. But hard to waste so much cash without consistency even when the light seems like it should be good. The OneStep 2 is slightly better for me but still more finicky than the vintage cameras with 600 film it seems

Hi Lucy. You sweat in Australia. This morning it was the first time this year in Austria. Only 32 degrees Fahrenheit and I had to scrape off the windows of my car. I'm curios had you ever to scrape off your car in Australia? Or it's not cold enough on the gold coast in winter?
@LucyLumen
@LucyLumen 2 года назад
Hahaha 🤣 no way would we be scraping anything off our cars herein the Gold Coast it’s never that cold 🥶 My parents are from the UK and I lived there when I was little and I remember mum doing it in the morning before taking me to school in the winter and when it snowed too it was so cold haha I didn’t like it much. I prefer being hot even though I am complaining in the video. It just gets very humid here like a tropical sort of weather.

This is my third one! I have a 2000’s model 600 one which I loved for nighttime flash photos but the eye piece has fallen off and it’s hard to frame up now…the other I have is a one step land camera and it takes SX-70 and I do think that film is king it just looks so nice and the design of those cameras is really nice.
