I hate the way some people shove the horses head away when it’s they who are invading the horses space.

I find the channels where people just stand and record for an hour or so so boring. I love that you narrate and add history, humour and personality to what you film. It makes it so enjoyable and entertaining.

I am so impressed when you speak up and let people know how disrespectful they are being. THANK YOU!

The people who see these guards as 'toy soldiers', should watch 'The Queens Cavalry' documentary, where trooper Chris Finney at 18 of the Blues and Royals, won the George Cross in Iraq, it was that award as opposed to a VC, because if was by 'friendly fire'. Great respect to all of our soldiers.

You’ve got to admire Arnie’s technique. She pretends she hasn’t noticed the tourists at the side of her - “see, you’re quite safe, I’m looking the other way” - before swinging her head round to frighten them off. Just a tip for those who don’t know - she can see you coming, she knows you’re there. She’s a horse with binocular as well as monocular vision giving her almost panoramic vision with just two blind spots - in between her front hooves and directly behind her. So if you think you’re sneaking up on her - you’re not. Not too sure what that Japanese lady’s ridiculous pose was all about but Arnie soon put a stop to it. The blind spot behind the tail is why, when they get agitated or spooked, their tail starts swishing. And if you think getting swiped by a horse’s tail swished in anger isn’t a problem then you’ve never been on the receiving end. I defy anybody who gets a face full of tail swished in anger not to suddenly become fluent in Anglo-Saxon vernacular. Just behave John - we can’t do with you getting your marching orders too.

Thank you for correcting that family. That's what people should do. Those were very disrespectful family. Tourists should do their research before they visit.

Hmm, I surprised he got off with just a ban. In some places when you place a listening device on defence property, the security services get involved and it gets worse from there. That was one dumb A** move. That guy should be thanking his lucky stars a ban is all he received. Thanks for the info John. 🤪

Isn't that place considered a barracks, if so, I can understand their stance on banning him and investigating. If they did that in the USA you could be considered a spy

Many years ago when my cousin was in the blues and royals, you weren’t allowed to touch the horses, speak to the guards, only watch from behind the barriers. How times have changed, now it’s just disrespectful tourists

OMG how do the people of the U.K. tolerate so many ignorant tourists being so disrespectful towards the Kings Guard, Police not to mention t he poor horses. I'm a horse owner and also have worked in the equestrian industry for nearly 35 years and one fundamental rule is never stand in FRONT of a horse you could be seriously hurt if the horse spooks or even jumps forwards. Also their eyes are in the side of the head they don't see what we see when touching a horse for the first time it's their shoulder you touch not hands straight up to the face, I know these people aren't aware of these things but myself and other horsey people just see Danger and accidents due to stupidity. Love your videos BTW.

The amount of people at Horse Guards is minuscule to the amount of Asian tourists at the Grand Canyon, AZ. The trails are skinny and there aren’t many barriers to keep you from falling in. I was actually pushed all the way off a trail due to crazy people taking pictures of EVERYTHING! I cant believe how calm some of these horses are!!!

As I said before John last time ‘Arnie’ was here was probably a bad time in her cycle, she does seem much calmer today, we women are complicated and there is no man that will ever understand us

I would definitely shout at these rude and non-compliant tourists!

Yes! I loved seeing the gentleman bow. He is acknowledging the Guard's humanity. I do believe that walking about with a cell phone in hand every waking hour appears to destroy peripheral vision and may impede hearing anything less than a shout.

John your the best as you know all the horses most of the guards & you interact with people. Plus you also makes us laugh.

If there's an issue with security, youtubers not complying with some type of protocol, I think the MOD officers, the guards, CoH, even MET police, should choose 6 or 8 TRUSTED, known to them only, for filming purposes. The rest should not be allowed. The safety of all mentioned, the security of country should be top of mind.

My Son had to suppress a laugh when on Guard duty at Winsor Castle when a large group of Japanese started taking photo's of him,they would bow befor taking a photo and after and he said all could see was all these heads bobbing up and down,he was in the Coldstream Guards for 25 years joined at 16 and left as a Warrant Officer,so proud of him ❤

Why people feel the need to touch the horses just for a photo? It’s not your horse to touch. It’s different when the horse is looking for your attention, otherwise keep your hands off the horse ! It’s like people wanting to touch somebody’s dog on the street.

Everybody loves Venus🥰🥰🥰 I mean one can't help help but love her. I've seen her so many times at Horse Guards but i still find it hard to understand the unlimited amount of patience and welcoming spirit this small mare has for the entire world (small by comparison to other horses, and even other mares). It's easy to spot her, because she's smaller in height, she has that funky forelock and small muzzle. I don't think i know of any people, humans i mean, to have this unlimited patience and welcoming spirit. And she always, and i mean always, manages to get the "awww"s and the "waaa"s and the "ooohhh"s😄😄😄 So whenever you hear people interjecting like that at a horse from Horse Guards, it's definitely Venus. It's almost palpable the huge amount of positive energy she spreads around her, too, and people definitely feel it and are drawn to her. There's no problem with tourists crowding her, touching her (multiple people at the same time), stroking her inadequately, talking loud, everybody is welcome and everybody is forgiven (whatever their mistakes might be). And even though she is not a horse with remarkable physical traits, she has a remarkable unique heart. I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, she is the best ambassador horse from the Life Guards😉 Regarding what happened to Mr. Tony, i really didn't understand what the trouble was that got him banned. Except the fact that he placed a microphone...somewhere...while recording. That doesn't say much to me. I think it's very complicated to say with certainty what conditions Arnie to bite, but i definitely noticed she bites a lot more women than men. For sure.😄

John has no qualms about telling tourists they are being rude. He amuses me as he politely tells them off! 😊 John is the guardian of the queen’s guards!!!👍👍 I admire him

The horse looks tired, closes it's eyes almost having a little nap... But people don't give it a minute break... How much could the horse take, from all that huge crowd, so noisy...

if people act half way decent with their cameras then there wouldn't be a problem....but some seem to think having a camera gives the power to act like idiots and stick camera in everyone face and that nothing can be done about it.....its happening all over the US these days
