California Highway Patrol officers are in pursuit of a reportedly stolen party bus. We're live with Stu Mundel from up in SkyFOX. STORY: bit.ly/35ioOhW
I tried to see what kind of car that was, but couldn't tell. I have seen a lot of Tesla car videos where the auto pilot moves the car out of the way to avoid being rear ended, just like that dark sedan.
Dude that was straight blatant the guy the lady driver had a second lane I mean come on stupid could have saved the bus if she would have just pulled over. 📡👽🇺🇸 RUN!!! Total loss lady style. 😁🧙♂️🛸
No, it's inexcusable and disgusting. That suspects had ZERO regard for anyone else but herself. I hope she has to pay for the new car, the ambulance bill, the hospital bill, lost wages and suffering pay, and has her license revoked for LIFE, with a MINIMUM of 10 years in prison. No excuses.
The reason why they were slow was because they heard the sirens and was already moving out of the way. Some people overreact like that on the highway. I've seen it happen multiple times in LA
I’m a firm believer that when you do something like this, once you are found guilty and sentenced you should be required to make financial restitution for *ALL* damages incurred during the police chase. If that means selling your home, your car or any other personal items, then so be it. You have none of those things, then any financial accounts or investments should be automatically garnished. Still have none of that, your old age security cheques or any pensions should be advanced to the appropriate people of whose property you damaged or destroyed.
They do have to pay restitution, but usually the people who do this sort of thing are broke. It's like squeezing a rock to make orange juice, no matter how hard you try you won't get anything out of it.
It always really annoys me seeing someone be hit in a crash like this and the cops never sending at least a single cruiser to check on them in the beginning. Those could be crucial moments in saving someone’s life if they’re actually injured lol
In a pursuit, the police presume that there are armed people in the vehicle until they know otherwise. You never see them get in front of the windshield. It's annoying, since they can't use blocking tactics...but it's also reasonable.
@@russelllewis9215 I guess that’s understandable. And there is a giant bus with an unknown amount of people in the back. But I still see it happen in other random chase videos with one lone suspect that’s already in the process of putting his hands in the air while he’s on his knees. Just irks me, but I do understand why more now though. It never occurred to me the bus would still have to be emptied in case people were there
Was a hot mess this woman got out looking like she had just left Ringling brothers Barnum & bailey Circus for the audition and stole the party bus this makes no sense
"The Venga bus is comin' and everybody's jumpin' New York through San Fransisco An interstate free disco, The wheels of steel are turnin' and traffic lights are burnin' So if you like to party, Get on and move your body!" --Vengaboys, 1999
No one is going to go past the suspect vehicle until the driver is in custody and the vehicle has been cleared. Anyplace past the suspect vehicle is "downrange," (in other words: where all the guns are pointed) and that's a bad place to be if the shit hits the fan and rounds start flying. The smart oncoming drivers who saw what was going on and immediately did U-turns and quickly left the area, obviously understand this. Only once the bus was cleared, was it safe to go downrange to render aid to the other driver.
some people really just have nothing to lose and nothing better to do with their lives.. its not like they think "hey i can steal this massive party bus, blend in with the rest of traffic, get where i need to go and not be caught and arrested on grand theft.." I have to imagine the internal dialogue was something more along the lines of "i'll joy ride this bus, get a few hours of attention and fun out of it. Then they'll take me to county where i wont have to deal with all the responsibilities of life. i wont have to scavenge for food, beg for money or look for a place to sleep. ill get my meals each day and have a bed of my own."
The addict mentality doesn't weigh consequences, doesn't think long term, and can be quite impulsive. She probably saw the bus, with keys visible and available, saw no one around, and took off. Just looked her up... Melissa Danielle Jackson 44, stole the bus in San Diego! "The Top Dog Limo bus had been taken out to pick up a client in Pacific Beach when someone jumped into it and took off, according to owner Suzie Leitzke. She was alerted to the theft after receiving a complaint about the bus' erratic driving." Holy shit! That means that she got 110 miles up the road, had no one chasing her, but messed things up for herself because of her speeding and weaving thru traffic. If she had gone the speed limit and drove normal, she might have gotten to where she was headed. Definitely addict mentality.
Person in front of the poor bastard that got plowed into that moved outta the way is the real G. Obviously paying attention to what’s happening behind them just as much as what’s in front.
As a person who just was hit and totaled from behind by a minor on there phone I feel for that person's neck and teeth... I'm having a nightmare with insurance companies so I imagine this will be a mess unless they had full coverage.
Even if you drive an older car without comprehensive coverage, be sure to get uninsured / underinsured liability coverage. It has saved my butt twice! 🙏
@@Austin8thGenTexan yes! I'm from Providence R.I. & yes definitely always get uninsured motorist!!!! I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix & hey it what it is!!!
The cop immediately behind party wagon didn't have lights going, who knows about siren but that should give the police some liability. If they're going to chase someone they need to do everything they can to let other drivers know
Exactly! How does that work...you know I think I steal someone's vehicle get arrested maybe spend a night in jail and go back to work one day next week.
Look like an easy job having to entertain viewers for over an hour with not a whole lot going on? Stu is the KING of Los Angeles police chases and has seen it all!
For those that are mad at the cops for not checking on the driver, they must make sure nobody is in the suspect’s vehicle because there could be multiple in there armed so it would be extremely dangerous to go next to the suspect’s vehicle.

It’s always priority to check the innocent before the criminal. Only difference I’d think is, if the criminals vehicle was on fire. First responders are at the top too if injured!
🤡 yes while the other people could die ...why not take the plate number of bus and not chase them all over California can't do it in my city not allowed.
@@TylerCornelius1128 Theoretically, yes. Logically, yes. But when you jump into line on a chase call - with your siren blaring and all of your colleagues chasing, it becomes a great big rush. I could not possibly explain to anyone what a roller coaster ride is like without them actually taking one...
I know rt. My next door neighbor was sleep deprived & spun drove into our laundryrm & neighbors car so maybe ur rt!. Scary isnt it! Whiplash but alive! She can sleep in jail for days?
@lironmtnranch4765 Did you mean "tweeking" or "twerking"..?... I'm not american you see, so i get confused by these words that are used in your language but not mine..... i am a "real" english person.
It looks as if the car’s air bags didn’t even go off ( from what we can see from above) I pray he/she is ok- it seems no one else is in car or the fire department would be in all areas of car! Party bus woman- shame on u!!!
None of the cops went over to check the people inside the car that got hit to make sure they're ok!!!???? How freaking sad!!!! As most of the time... What gets them hard is getting people in trouble and putting them behind bars way more than helping those in need.
@@OddOtter707 No body!!?? Who's "nobody"!!?? What breaking protocol? Their job is to assist and protect the wounded specially the when there's victims. And how's anyone going to get shot when the victim's vehicle was far from the suspects? You don't make sense!!!
@@theactionman8403 Your logic is so stupid on this insident!! But of course..., the victim is not you and or any of your loved ones otherwise you would have a different prespective on this. This a chase dumb dumb.. Take a look at all those cops against just that one suspect. Now to a degree the suspect is not going anywhere and or is an active shooter or a situation as such. You mean to tell me that not one could go check om the victim which is actually fair far away from where the suspect is!!!??? The way that suspect hit the victim was very hard and in accidents as such time can be a big factor and could make the difference between life and death. Also EMPS are nowhere near and its takes a while before they show up. It should be protocol and common sense for a peace office whom at the end are there to serve and protect to go check on victims to make sure that at least they're ok and if they're hurt they can also assist on that person's life. It's normal to do so and cops do it all the time. Its been seen and done on worse cases. If you don't have a good logic or common sense, just STFU!!! Btw.. You should also change your user name cuz it ain't going with your retarded mindset.
Surprisingly "toothless" pursuit tactics eventually led to a serious accident. It appears that the police are more afraid of harming a suspect than they are of saving those who may be harmed by reckless driving.
So she manages to drive relatively safely for 40 minutes without hindering anyone or infringing anything, even stopping and waiting while the truck infront of her turns and then despite having a clear road where she would've seen the upcoming car she plows straight into it at full speed?
LOL I remember the PowerSmoke diesels in the 90s E-350 cutaways... They'd often stall as soon as you tried to move from a complete stop. Ford dealer said it was "normal" for several months, and then blamed the batteries, which were replaced fleetwide with no improvement. We ended up buying three Chevy-based buses, two were delivered with non-functioning passenger doors. So we were pretty much effed whether we went oval or bowtie. (This was at a pharmaceutical company that's known for the Little Blue Boner Pill.)
It's always a party with Stu and Fox 11! hahaha, would love to see Stu at a party, hahaha, man of the hour, lol, thanks for this! Hope no one was hurt, though....nasty crash....
@@castillo33brandon Lol. Thank you. I have a degree in policing, and was making a funny. The concept I'm referencing is actually time and distance. When the situation isn't immediately escalating, it's best practice to regroup and attack from a point of advantage rather than just running in at the first opportunity to get close. GG
I feel more bad for the owner of the bus, Small business dents like this can take a company down, Hope any issurance wil cover it. But may be KAREN didnt know the police were chasing her ?
OMG all the force of that much weight hitting you in the rear. Be lucky if she does not have major issues for months or years. Meanwhile the criminal that stole the bus. Will probably get 6 months. Some bleeding heart liberal judge in LA county will let her off with a hand slap while the other woman suffers for years to come. Meanwhile people in this state still Clinging to liberalism.....OMG....
One thing I will never understand-this accident was not necessary if the police had stopped the vehicle right now. But they thought let’s drive nearly a hour. It’s nice weather out there…
All I can tell you is the person in the grey car might be walking away with a lot of money soon. Every officer seen that crash and sent not one unit to aid the poor civilian for minutes. That negligence could have cost a life. Good thing they stayed in the car... I'd be screaming "my neck and my back" until the ambulance came.
It is much more interesting and informative when the camera isn't zoomed in so close to the vehicle. Let us see what is going on around it unless you're trying to show the occupants.
Some people just drive in a daze. I'm sure the Silver car heard the 1/2 dozen or so sirens with a Motor home sized party bus barreling in my rear view mirror. I'd have my ass over in a hurry or speed up. I also ride a motorcycle so we folks are extra observant.
if this pursuit happened on the east coast, it would have been shut down within minutes. they wouldnt have allowed this chase to go on this long. i fell for the leo guys with both hands tied behind their heads, and blindfolded.
An unusual chase. I think the reason the signal broke up so bad is that the chopper was too far from its relay points. I have seen chases go so far the signal started to break up. My dream sky chopper would be able to stay up for eight or ten hours and go at least a thousand miles one one tank of fuel. We are getting to where choppers have to stay up longer and go farther as well as transmit over longer distances. I chopper should be able to go at least 200 miles per hour. I saw one chase where a Dodge Hellcat was not only outrunning the cop cars but also the chopper. It looked like it was going to vanish over the horizon when it was finally stopped.
Need to have someone figure out how to deploy the spike strips from inside the patrol car, too make deployment quicker. Push a button and they shoot out. Have a couple of semi's block across lanes. Teach these numbskulls a lesson, that we're done fooling around and not playing with them anymore. This namby pamby stuff is letting things get way out of hand. Stop giving the bad guys the control and the attention they want.
36:37 *THIS* is why you don't "follow" a subject, or let a "pursuit" continue for more than 5 minutes. Shoot tires, SHOOT DRIVER, but DO SOMETHING to stop these idiots from hurting innocent drivers!! The second someone refuses to stop they are a danger to EVERY OTHER driver on the road. DO YOUR JOB and *PROTECT* people by taking these jerks off the road by any means necessary!!
Great job covering this this chase. It can't be easy to deal with the unknown and not have dead air ...and on top of that not having great reception with the stationHQ.
When cops chase after people like this, what do you expect them to do? Go to speed limit and drive safe. No, they're going to do whatever they can to get away and when they do that then bad things can happen. Cops should never chase after people like this they should just let the helicopter do tracking
A dozen officers and not even one can go to check on the innocent folks who got clocked by the giant party bus!! The officers are so focused on the "chase" they have tunnel vision and missed the big picture. Yikes...their carelessness about possibly injured innocents is disgusting.
Come on, Stu, bring on the party comments, lol. Hilarious, and so glad he is still doing these! 😊👍❤ And thanks for keeping it real on letting people know you are probably NOT letting teh suspects know the info when you tell it, unlike other news reporters in the chases who refuse to do so because they are so afraid or whatever that the suspect might be tipped off. Another policy/approach that really needs to go.
