Kartacze is a dish from north-eastern part of Poland. Sielawa wędzona - smoked sielawa. Sielawa is a fish. Looks like herring tasts like trout. Ser korycinski. Regional sort of cheese. Much better than oscypek. Wędzony węgorz - smoked eal.... Well.. Looks awfull tasts fantastic. I live in Augustów. Some 30k inhabitans. We have here our own beer and mead. Touristic region. We produce cigarettes, yachts, and food. God bless.
And good vodka. While on a trip a few years ago, a few of my travel mates bought me a shot of potato vodka that we were told was “top shelf” or a premium brand. It cost about 75 Zloty. It was very smooth and had no burning sensation in the mouth. Two years later, I was given a 500 mL bottle of Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka. I still have some from that bottle that I drink a shot on special occasions. Is this a good quality vodka?
@@thomaspeacock7248 Zubrowka is a good vodka, you can make special drinks with this vodka - with apple or cranberry juice. There are many recipes on the internet.
Yes, u know why?? Poland is next to Germany and Czech Republic, and they have some great beers, so Poland said, we can't b any worst, we gots to keep up, so now , we also have gox beers!!!, lol so to speak
One of my favourite dishes is "Placki z gulaszem" (potato pancakes with goulash)! Oh my, yum yum yum! You should definitely try Golabki if you can find it. Smaczneigo! 😋😋😋
Jeśli będziecie w restauracji i w menu będzie "Żurek w chlebie" zamówcie. Jest to pyszna polska zupa jestem bardzo ciekaw waszego zdania na temat tego dania. Pozdrawiam.
Greetings from Florida 😎 I really enjoyed it Zakopané vlog 👍 keep up the good work guys 🤙 I hope I’m gonna go visit Poland this year🤞 otherwise you can guys come to Florida 👊
Another great video. Wonderful food and beautiful restaurants. While you are in the area, you can also visit beautiful Pieniny Mountains and go on a rafting trip down Dunajec River (Dunajec River Gorge). It's not white water rafting. Instead, two skilled local guides operate a traditional wooden raft while you just sit back, relax and admire the cliffs and nature of the Dunajec River Gorge. Also, Niedzica castle is nearby and very picturesque. In general, Poland has many beautiful castles and palaces that are worth visiting.
Guys, great job! Golonko is my favorite food! If you guys have time, I recommended to go evening time Termy in Hotel Bania (hot water pool outside of hotel). It's a lot of fun. Can't see a vlog.
If You like nature Maybe you should visit Poland thousand lakes part in Mikolajki next to Olsztyn city and Unesco Balowieza national park! North east of Poland Or Poland Slovinski park the desert in Poland! The best Pork Neck I eat in Kraków it is restaurant we’re they backed front of you in special stove ! Lech is the beer of Poznań city but most popular beer is Zywiec
You guys made me hungry but, luckily I am about to eat my dinner and it's one of my favorites, pasta. Guys, please forgive me because I don't subscribe on RU-vid to anyone but love to watch your videos. Cheers
Kwasnica-ala kapusniak soupe looks delicious I make my horse radish souse the one from stores taste too vinegary or not spicy at all.Nice video thank you.
So you haven't seen many great places in Zakopane. Next time, as a lover of Polish cuisine, find a restaurant: Gazdowo - Kużnia Zakopane Krupówki street The 1st dish is called: Pork knuckle baked in dark beer, and the meat is even more delicate.I recommend also aqua park Zakopane, Jagiellońska street number 31. There are excellent thermal waters, including sulfur ones, good for everything.
Ok, here goes some explanation of the Polish pronunciation of the words from the video. Again, I couldn't concentrate on my diet and went cooking immediately after watching your video:) C - like Italian ‘zz’ in ‘ragazza’ OSCYPKI, ŻYWIEC ch and h - like English ‘h’ in ham, honey LECH cz - like Italian ‘ci’ in ciao j and i - like English ‘ea’ in eat, tea ł - like English 'w' in water sz - like in English ‘sh’, should u and ó like English ‘oo” in food, mood w like English ‘v’ in vodka y like English ‘i’ in it, bit z like English z in ‘zero’ ż and rz - like French ‘j’ in bonjour or portuguese ‘j’ in Janeiro ŻYWIEC the problem is with ą, ę, ć, ź, dź, etc, you have to hear it, there are videos for English speakers on RU-vid
Im glad you like my country, but Zakopane is to much crowed, try go Podhale (Gorce mountain). Is close Zakopane, and have more to ofer for turist. I wish you more good experience in Poland and many more good food. 😉
C'mon, everybody know Guinness. We're in Poland now. Wy not to try something similar, like Baltic Porter type? Say, Kormoran Imperium Prunum or Łańcut Podbipięta? :D
Great vlog! 1st I'm sure you can buy Lech beer in Ireland🤣 there is deffo big Polish community with plenty Polish shops 🤪 2nd golonka should be served with Roast Potatoes😱 would taste way better! 3rd fennel seeds are added to most dished with sauerkraut is to prevent you from passing to much winds🤣 and is better for your tummy🙈
golabki , bigos, flaczki, kaszanka, sznycel z mizeria , and freaking vodka tour ,guys You are in Poland quite posssible that vodka as we know born there . Honey liquier and check the bakery and kakes i think they might suprise You a litle
You need to try the Polish Vodka’s . There is one in particular that stands out for me which I really like, it’s called żubrówka Korę Dębna ( which translates to Oak Root) Its a brown coloured vodka , which has a herbal (Jaegermiester like) taste. It’s one of the drinks I really miss, as I can’t get it where I live.
Its actually translated to oak bark, not root. Just so you know. Besides, it is a good idea, vodka plays important role in polish culture. Śliwowica is my recomendation ^^
In many many years You are truly the BEST makers of documentaries....Surely you should approach BBC as what you make certainly would turn You in to a popular in Europe celebrities ......Just superbly TALENTED complementing each other well WONDERFUL DUO....
I recommend avoiding all products of "Polish" corporate breweries, and drink Polish craft beers, which are among the world's best. Well, but if someone likes Lech, an international tasteless lager (which is identically tasteless and bitter all over the world), then he has no idea about beer and thinks it is good beer.
Thx a lot for your series about Poland's Tricity! The seemingly inunderstandable/unpronounciable name of that beer in i n Zakopane is not all that impossible after all. The first part "Kż... more or less means "prince", the middle word "zlot..." is always something that has to do with ”gold” (as it does also in other slavic languages). Not so hard, but the last part is a bit more tricky. Your suggestion that the beer made you think of German Weissbier was pretty spot on, since wheat beer is what "pszenicne" means, or more accurately " ... from wheat". So "Royal Golden Wheatbeer" would be a decent translation to English. And: The Polish language may seem incomprehensible for anyone with non-slavic native language, but I - as a Scandinavian - master it like almost as good as a Polish three year old kid, after having practizing coach studies for only a couple of weeks. That includes pronounciation. Yes, it's true! And poles will be truly impressed if the non-slavic tourist says a full sentence in their lingo. A few amateur hints regarding how to say a word in "almost Polish" would be: SZ - think "sheep", CZ think "cheap", ą, think ”ong”, ę, think ”eng”, RZ think ”je (t'aime). And to make a long story not too long you can do it with most Z, with dots on tops or bottom of the letter . It will work anyways. Well sort of work, but it takes you above Dyenkuuyeh level ;-)
Hello, if you don't know how to say the name of something, you can always type the translator into Google and press the speaker button for the Polish translation and try to repeat it even in the video, it's always interesting when a foreigner breaks his/her tongue while repeating it :) best regards
Niedźwiedzi ryk is "the bear's roar" :D. It's really cute when you try to pronounce Polish words. When I'm writing this comment I'm sure that now you would speak it much much better, when I compare it to your newer videos :). Remember that Polish "C" in Polish words is never English "C" like in 'castle'. But beware "ch" and "cz" :). In "ch", the "c" is silent and it is just H and "cz" is English "ch" like in "church" (and the same about sz -> it's sh). Pozdrowienia! PS. You can say "dziękujemy" if you want to say "we thank" :). Now I need to go to sleep, but I saved this video to watch!
I really enjoyed this video and the one from cracow, i liked to watch what you guys think about my country cousine. But i have to make a maaaasive disclaimer. It's not silesian cuisine. What you guys went for in Zakopane, so like a tourism center of polish mountains, tatry in this case, is called kuchnia góralska (Im not sure how to translate this, like maybe mountainish cuisine). Zakopane is in małopolskas voivodeship, silesian voivodeship is west of it. But silesian voivodeship its not the same as historical region of silesia which basically divedes into three more (upper, opolski and lower silesia) and goes all the away west till the border. *Upper silesians have their own language (ślōnsko godka), culture, cuisine, and would definetly get angry if heard that somebody calls Zakopane silesia 😅
I'm happy you enjoyed our food but here is plenty of polish food and beer in Ireland .Don't worry about pronunciation you doing good job at least you trying .
