Also here’s a tip for the foam pads, to keep them from getting crusty and breaking down like that, just use compressed air frequently to clean out the dried compound, then hit it with a little spray wax to keep it from getting too dry. They will last much longer if you keep them clean and a little moist. This will also help make it easier to wipe the compound off the paint.
The “buy once, cry once” philosophy is the real deal. Even that weird one off tool you only use every now and then, you ain’t saving $100 if it fucks up your part. Good shit my dude.
Adam's Swirl Killer 15mm LT Polisher is half the price and the same polisher, but it doesn't come with compounds ect. Its just renamed to the Swirl Killer. In case folks want the same thing for a little less. Entry level one that others may want to try as well is ZOTA Car Polisher, 21mm Long-Throw Orbital. Similar to the Rupes and Swirl Killer but great for those starting out. :)
I'm jelly of that EVO. Very purdy. I have nice Integra , RSX, and a beater Civic. My next baby will be a White Evo X. My realistic dream car. Feel like a kid again.
i using Rupes LHR15 mark III myself of there kit here in sweden and is it absolutly the best one on the market and i have tried out 3 other machines but none of them beats the rupes bigfoot and the woolpad u started to use in the end is to remove the sand scratches then after that go for the other blue pad and etc and u will get even better shine to it and deeper of the color grettings from Tim sweden
Hey devin nice work done. I suggest You should have 4pads of each cutting and polish. Than devide the car in 4 sections. It is because of the rotating heat that your polish pad will shader like that quickly. Do that and you will see that you polish pads will life longer. Keep up the good work.👊🏼
Welpt Devin I went and bought a Rupes DA because of your last video. I have a garbage Torq or something I bought from Chemical guys years ago so I'm kinda hyped to see and feel the difference. Love the vlogs dude.
Great job man! The car is looking great! Disappointed to see the blue pad break up without even getting a single car done tho. I like to have 2 of each pad when polishing, means I can alternate them every panel so I’m not putting excess heat through them and find they last well.
Gonna be painting my wife's sti black cherry pearl, wheels should be getting out of the shop anytime in soft candy red, damn near same as your wheels if not the same color I will have to check your vids to see.
Definitely ditch the open cell (blue/green) Rupes pads in favour of microfibre/wool pads. The yellow and white pads are great for very soft paints or for 2nd step finishing after cutting.
You could give the PDR stuff a go. I bought a kit online. I'm not great at it and only practice on the daily but I'm getting better at it and there's only little dents in the daily now (including the hail damage).
I’m sure this is a dumb question and it may not even get to you but if you’re ever looking to get rid of any wheel setups you have, please let me know!! Looking to get some wheels for my whip, they’re a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. Looking for 18x9.5 +38 or 40. If you have anything please pm me so I can take them off your hands! Keep up the great content bro, much love 💪🏼
Hey Devin love your content. Enjoy watching it every day. The ramps you use to put the Evo On, what brand are they. They look like they work great. Thanks for your channel Noel
Why am I scared to do the first step of sanding my car 😬I have a 15 crystal black pearl STI and it needs all this done to it including a few tiny dents pulled 😕
Love the videos keep up the great work! I was wondering where ya get the front bumper push button mounts? I remember you talking about it in a vid but can find the video
Damn Devin I’ve been watching for a looong ad time. I get the sponsor stuff but always loved how you didn’t really have them unless it was something you use. I pay for RU-vid for premium so I don’t have to watch ads.
Could sanding down replace clay barring a car? Or do these two have different purposes? Because my car seems to have some chips build ups or some sort and the paint is really rough and i think sanding should do better than clay barring it.
