I have the drill attachment and I would suggest you not focus on speed. The machine is made of plastic and the speed is going to heat up the plastic and made cause warping of the parts. I got the attachment to save on cranking, I have a pre-existing injury. Also pre-wind your yarn, do that so you are aware of knots. When you crank with the drill the knots could cause you to strip your gears in the machine.
A Momma J Way, thank you so much for these tips. I definitely don't want to damage my machine. I am also hopeful that not cranking so much will help my shoulder not become so sore.
That is very informative. I ordered a knitting machine & it should get here after Christmas. I am excited about it. I am a crocheter. I do can knit but I haven't in a very long time.
Like you, I am definitely planning on creating lots of machine knitting projects in January 2021. I am getting 48 needle sentro and small Addi from Father Christmas 🎄 can’t wait! Look forward to seeing your projects 😀
Actually you use a power screw driver vs the power drill. The drill has too much torque for your knitting machine. A power screw driver has less torque and will not create the same issue with the plastic.
