10 Must Have Craft Tools for the Knitting Machine 

These are essential items for primarily the circular knitting machines. The yarn winder is a MUST for flatbed knitting because they require center pull yarn cakes. I use a larger capacity yarn winder. Circular machines come in these sizes: 22 needle; 40 needle; 46 needle and 48 needles. The 22 and 46 - Addi. The 22, 40 & 48 - Sentro, etc. When using the adaptor use a power screw driver vs power drill. The power drill has too much torque for your plastic circular knitting machines. You really want to have your machine around for a long time! A latch hook tool is far better for recovering dropped stitches than the crochet hook (though I also crochet).

I hadn’t thought about a yarn winder but thats a good price, I’ll check Amazon. Making a scarf today and on row 100 along came a big knot😕. I have 2 crochet hooks but I’m hopeless at trying to crochet. Thanks for the video.

Nice. Instead of a yarn winder, I have a nostepinne (old fashioned stick version of a yarn winder) and totally agree that they're a must have item. They make it so much nicer to unravel machine knit projects without making a tangled mess, too! Instead of #2 being a knitting machine (which I came into this video assuming was needed, lol), I would suggest a loom hook, which I find easier to pick up dropped stitches with compared to a crochet hook. What I use instead of a loom hook is actually called a hook weeding tool, used for vinyl cutting machines like a Cricut, but it's a very similar shape.

Thanks for the video Serfronya. Good info. I have a question. Have you used Caron simply soft yarn? and if so what do you think of it for beanies being made for folks working in or having to sleep out in 40 degree or colder night weather? I started a beanie and found that even doubled and on the tightest tension it seems like it's not dense enough. Thanks in advance
