Just came across your video today. I did sign up of course since I like learning about natural meds and things. I have pine trees in my back yard. Love your sweater, I can crochet but knitting isn't one of my best crafts. I enjoy drinking tea a couple times a day. Now I can drink from my own trees. I look forward to your class in January. God Bless.

Those adorable pygmy owls are "cheep" entertainment indeed! 😂😊❤ I love your methodical approach, clear breakdowns, and rigorous research. Thank you so much. You're an excellent educator, and I always seek out your content. ❤ I just had some pine needles tea (from an Eastern white pine tree near me ❤🙏🏼) while healing from a chest cold with a bad cough and sore throat. I'm grateful for this warmth and plant medicine.

Hello and thank you for offering this informative video. I have large White Pines behind our home and after a recent storm I thanked them and took a nice branch with lots of needles. You said a cold infusion is good and that made me think to try adding with water to a vitamix and blending the heck out of it and then straining the solids off. Almost a succus? I cant imagine juicing would make much juice with such resinous needles. Thanks again for the inspiration!

This was very helpful and inspirational. I knew about eating the bark for survival, but did not know the needles were of benefit. I heard dogs barking in the background, and I felt compassion. Though we live in a rural area, we have a near neighbor who leaves her dogs outside all day, yes, even in winter, the town does nothing, and they simply bark, bark, bark. Before she moved in, the only noises I experienced were song birds, owls, frogs and other wildlife. I'll take a noisy goose or rooster at four am over barking any day. It's obviously a problem everywhere.

Glad you enjoyed the video! And yes, the dogs barking is so very sad for me. We have a neighbor with around 15 dogs and they are outside all day. It makes filming outside very difficult. I think they are quite bored so when they see me out there I become entertainment for them to bark at. Like you I wish I could just hear the sounds of the forest when I'm outside, but instead I get a constant barking. Sorry you are dealing with a similar situation.

This was very informative and beautifully done. It seems you are knowledgeable and have done a lot of research. I've been watching various videos on the many uses of conifers and have been wanting to make pine needle tea for quite a while but keep getting conflicting information on which trees are safe to use. While hiking the other day I collected a handful of what I believed to be scrubby pine/ Lodge pole. Before making the tea I wanted to be sure I had the right specimen so I watched this video by Eccentric Nature ( 10 amazing benefits of pine needle tea ). He said there are 20 varieties of toxic pine including ponderosa, Lodge pole, Norfolk island, Monterey, Australian and yew. Naturally I became hesitant and disappointed so I'm still not cradling that warm healthy cup. ☹️🌲

Thank you for this information. I love pine trees, but my allergies add to asthma attacks, so, I haven't had pine tea since. Maybe I'll try it again one day this winter. The recipes sound wonderful! Stay healthy! Merry Christmas. 🎄

I was taught Ponderosa Pine was the only true pine we could not use for tea. Fortunately they don’t grow in Georgia. But is Ponderosa Pine different than other pines? Is there something chemically different that makes people say it is poisonous)

Hi! Thank you for the detailed video. I have a question. Does the pine needle tea leave some residues in the cup that are hard to wash away even when scrubbing, or that only happens to me? I don’t remember if you mentioned that on the video, I watched it some weeks ago and now I’m on the train and don’t have headphones with me 😅
@HerbsWithRosalee
@HerbsWithRosalee 9 месяцев назад
That's definitely possible because of the resins. Washing it with a high proof alcohol or even coating it with oil and then washing with soap and water will probably help.

Don't think that I would like pine needle tea, so I tried something different. Collected some balsa and spruce from our property,, cut up the tips and put them into a 5 quart pot to simmer on woodcookstove. Wanted to know if inhaling steam from pine will act as a decongestant and it seems to work that way if I put my head over pot, also makes house smell good. The balsa has a lot of scent, the spruce not as much. The resulting water from needles and stems is red, stains everything. Bet it could be used as a dye. Just the info I needed.
