Pontiac didn't go under. In 2008, GM dropped them as a bale out deal for 38 billion dollars from the US government. When the market crashed, GM almost went under, and ordered a bale out. As part of the deal, they were supposed to drop a number of companies from their lineup. Hummer, Saturn and Pontiac are a few well known companies that they dropped.
You guys do realise this is an Aussie built Holden GMH Ve commodore just rebadged Pontiac which I do believe shouldn’t have as we don’t go rebadging corvettes when the come down under but GM has closed our beloved Holden brand 😢🇦🇺
Amazing man!! So happy to see you have your car done! I can't even begin to tell you how amazing these G8's are! I have a whole new level of how awesome these cars are I had commented on another one of your videos saying I was working on a kit for my own car. Well I had just finished mocking up and making the driver side maninigold to turbo and had started mocking up the passenger side, it's been kinda hard for me cuz my car was a daily driver. Well on the 26th I was on my way to get my son from daycare when I was involved in an accident. I got hit dead center of the passagenger side doors the car that hit me was doing around 60mph never touched their brakes and I was able to not only craw out the driver side rear door butr am relatively unhurt!! The car is of course totaled I couldn't even open my center console cuz the pass. Doors where literally on top of the center console. But don't worry I'll be back soon enough, congratulations on getting your car done man just keeps me motivated to get another and resume right where I left off!!

@@J2GXP yeah me to its funny I'm an ASE certified mechanic and I don't think I ever looked to see that the G8 has side airbags and that's what saved me, I'm verry impressed after seeing the damage to my car that I'm walking around after. So it'll just be a little bit of time and I'll have another one for sure. Keep up the great work on your car man your killing it definitely one of the nicest g8 I've seen!! I'm more a ford guy, but the G8 and Chevy SS are sweet. I've got a 2004 mercury marauder. A black on black beauty. 2nd owner here. 10,388 miles all original. I swear it still has that new car smell.
@@vaughnbarksdale755 I got lucky finding this, I had saved for years to afford it. The first one I found was an 04 bought new stored in a climate controlled garage. Still had all the factory window stickers and plastic on the seats. The owners bought it as an investment knowing that someday it would be a collectors dream! The car had original 000030 miles (30 friggin original miles!) Verified. Selling for 45k lol to rich for my blood!

Me too. I bought mine at the Pontiac fire sale and got 8000 off list which was only $18K. The dealer was closing and getting rid of inventory. They had GTs and a GXP but no discount. Financially couldn’t get one of those. Don’t mind the 6 it’s still fun to drive in manual mode. I don’t street race or track so it suits me fine. Still a beautiful car in any trim.
we've got a silver one with red and black interior bought it off the trailer as it was being delivered to the dealer has about 2000 miles stock and just sits on a lift. its perfectly fine just sits
I still have my 2009 with 85000km (52000miles) on it. They should have made a twin turbo v6 version. The DOD was a DUD. LGW 404hp from a Cadillac or the LGX 335hp.
Awesome setup! I’m buying my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT in hopefully the next month or two! I still wanna daily, but create a decent amount of power. I’m strongly considering supercharging but this single turbo sounds beautiful 🤧🤩
Well congratulations if you end up getting that GT, and if you can yes go turbo it’s is worth it in the long run. Cartunning performance makes this kit you can find them on Facebook and his base kit is about the same as a procharger setup and will make more power with the ability to reach 1000+whp. The highest we have seen with this kit is 12XXwhp in an auto gt.

That’s the beauty of turbo, I drive my car on low boost pretty much all the time with the cut out closed. With the turn of the boost controller and a flick of a switch to open the cut out it can be an absolute animal.
@@J2GXP exactly & that’s how I need it to be! By any chance do you have long tube headers in your set up or no? I was considering putting some in mine with a tune obviously

Thanks buddy appreciate that, I went with single due to ground clearance issues if I went off the track when lapping. I actually show how far down the turbo would sit in one of first videos in relation to oil pan etc. I would of loved to do dual top mount but the wiring for that would take forever haha.

Awesome video sure this has been asked but what was the final cost for that result. Im in the market but was gonna go with the auto trans but turbo I fell would not get along
joseph line The Cartunning base kit starts at 6000 usd. As for the whole build I’m scarred to add it all up and find out how much money I have in it 😂. Maybe one day I’ll do a video of the total cost.
