If you’re reading this, do your future self a favour. Read poor Charlie’s almanak, then read “influence” by a psychologist named Roberto Cialidini, and then read poor Charlie’s almanak again. You will never make a better investment
I am impressed with the choice of book - and the vast mind that's Charlie. Nice review, and I'll be checking out your channel as much as possible. 👍🏽👍🏽
Charlie is a very interesting guy. The book is quite expensive, but well worth the money, the kind of book you can reread every year and still take something out of it.
Absolutely worth the money! You can argue that you can watch interviews with Charlie and get the same information, but having the book is very useful to have it all organised and always accessible.
“In my whole life, I have known no wise people (over a broad subject matter area) who didn't read all the time -- none, zero. You'd be amazed at how much Warren reads--and at how much I read. My children laugh at me. They think I'm a book with a couple of legs sticking out.”
Do more book review video...I love the way how you describe as a whole book...and also "the books that has most impact on your life" or something like that 👍🙋😃
I think you recommended a wonderful book which will be of great help to every one who read it in managing their finances. Reading such books clear your mind about how businesses are managed. Great service. Keep it up.
Of course there are many measures of success. I find Charlie Munger truly successful not only because of his wealth, but also because of his knowledge and philosophy.
"If you don't get elementary probability in your repertoire, you go through a long life like a one legged man in an ass kicking competition" "Be an interdisciplinary learner, more outside of your scope, watch and learn from other fields, read their magazines and scientific reports" Negative ideology is so real in Bulgaria, there are SO many negative people here who are extremely risk averse due to communism, they always look at the downside of everything and they think they're above creative solutions because communism beat that spirit out of them, i.e "why be creative when communism offers no incentives?" "Understand other side better than them" "Work work work and hope to have A FEW insights!!" "Apply simple principles LONG TERM" "Stoicism is KING!" "Only 20% can be in the 1/5"
Thank you for the great summary and commentary of the video! I can see you understand what I am talking about when it comes to the post-com mentally in Bulgaria. Actually I find in the UK there are empydemics of thinking like "living for the weekend", having sense of inferiority if you come from a certain class... all excuses for mediocrity.
Odolena Kostova - Right on, that’s a fantastic book. Totally underrated, in my opinion. I see DisneyWar there too, that’s on my to-read list. Are you on Goodreads?
Odolena Kostova - Nope, but I hear it’s one of the craziest tell-all business books of all time, and a rare account of what actually goes on behind the scenes in the upper ranks of Disney management. Michael Eisner apparently had a lot of...issues (drama-O-rama). I’ve been planning on listening to the audiobook version, since it got stellar reviews on Audible. I idolize Walt Disney, he was a true legend, but the leadership shifted priorities tremendously after his death. I’ve read the Disneyland Story, which was a great recounting of the Walt years (and because I work in design). The book from the CEO who recently stepped down, Bob Iger, is also apparently well reviewed.
