I don't care what anyone says, Sherie Rene Scott was and always will be the best Broadway Ursula. The only person better is Pat Carroll. Sherie is awesome!

i wish that disney keep this reprise in the movie it sounds so epic and evil which i guess is fitting but sherie was a great ursula even if it different
I think they could have pulled off a giant Ursula. well at least the tenacles part. they could have raised her high into a corner and had huge tentacles drag underneath her or something.
It appears that the tentacles behind her appears to be suggesting that she becomes giant somehow. Notice that when Eric's ship comes in, it looks as though the tentacles are wrapping around it, sort of like the famous Kraken etching.
I like both that and how they show Ursula's manipulative side again too--right as Ariel's about to destroy the shell and kill Ursula, Ursula pulls that "I gave you EVERYTHING...and I could give it to you again...only this time, with a voice too..." Like, as awesome as Ariel was here, I can't deny that Ursula could have won had she not switched gears to "NOW LET'S HAVE A GIRLS' NIGHT OUT AND KILL YOUR DADDY :D"
The ending in this version reminds me of the ending of Anastasia where the heroine destroys the source of the villain's power and thus destroying the villain!

@@shiradaniel there are other versions besides that one the animated Christmas special, the one with the 2 creatures that go into different fairy tales to ensure they follow their stories, i think even the one with Mister Magoo where he played all 7 dawarfs
Sherie's Ursula is wounderful. Her voice is incredible and the acting is perfect she fits Ursula amazingly. The energy's insane you can hear she had a blast playing the character and she killed it with the highnotes super talented❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ha. You should see Aladdin on stage. Anti climactic? Jafars whole final seen left me laughing at how watered down his big reveal was. I don’t get why Disney decided to allow their most iconic villains to be short handed like this.
What I love is how when Ursula is using Ariel’s voice while being unseen, she comes on and basically toys with it, rubbing it in Ariel’s face as she uses it against her and stripping her of the hope that she can keep the fantasy she so desperately wanted. GOD I LOVE URSULA🤣🤣🤣😈😈😈
They didn't do Vanessa on Broadway because it was too hard to stage. Plus, this is how the original Grimm's fairytale goes except in the fairytale Eric marries one of the other princesses and Ariel commits suicide and turns into seafoam. So I wouldn't complain about this ending.

I was doing part European American as Snow White, Blue Fairy, Cinderella, Alice, Wendy, Aurora, Mary Poppins, Ariel, Belle, Esmeralda, Megara, Jane Porter, Merida, Sofia, Anna, & Elsa, Caucasian, Hispanic, & Asian American as Jasmine, Native American as Pocahontas, African American as Tiana & Doc McStuffins, Chinese American as Mulan, Hispanic American as Elena, and Polynesian as Moana. Ariel gets her voice back from Ursula magic shell, angrily yank, and smash the magic shell. Ursula screams and melts away just like the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.
Quite the contrary Norm Lewis is ripped lol down to the 6pack. Physically speaking he’s not far from the movie version. You should see some of these updated versions Ugghh😵😑
They said it was too complicated to do. The Vanessa part would be equally as complicated. If they did it, it would be pure magical, but it's way too hard to make a giant Ursula get impaled.

They should have put the fog machines in front of her instead of behind. I do wish tho, that they could have made her some what giant like in the movie and have her and all of her tentacles go down in smoke and water.
this is the Disney version. Disney makes some of their shows into broadway musical. Its not the hans Christian anderseon version, and the brothers grimm don't have a version of the little mermaid. Also, this isn't how the story was in the original story. The sea witch isn't a villain and the mermaid dies,not the witch. In the original version
This is different than what I saw in other youtubes videos, why is it different? (yes, i saw a broadway video, where ariel didnt get her voice back and didnt turned into a mermaid)
Most other videos on here are Pre-Broadway Tryouts in Denver. So when they moved the show to Broadway, they decided to basically restage/redo this whole section of the show.
whatta crappy ending. I understand plays and musicals have to improvise some parts. ie. that like in the movie, ursula gets killed by the boat stabbing her. That cant be done on stage. But i mean just breaking the shell and killing her on the spot. How uncreative. And why did they leave out Vanessa?
The plot change was needed because back in this time Broadway didnr have the technology to make ursula giant Thefore they had to get crafty with her death
I've got a question...the Ariel at the beginning with her back facing us....was that Sierra....or someone made up to look like Sierra? because that is definatley Sierra at the end of this video....it's a question that's been puzzling my mom and I for two years now!
The ending definitely didn’t work on stage and the way they did it kinda flopped but I think the score and the new songs are pretty great at least. I also like the rest of the show besides the end .
Well we don’t live in a perfect world where the ending of this musical wouldn’t look so anticlimactic. But how would you make the ending just right if it were up to you?
