it's a kids horror game, they cannot include puzzles that require more than three braincells or take longer than 5 minutes or the player's adhd will kick in and they move on
Honestly Charlie's dedication to speedrunning without any help besides just looking at it is pretty inspirational. I mean he doesn't get it here because its luck based but it"s still inspiring.

240 fps is probably illegal because it has a system requirement restraint where a lot of speedrunners cant compete simply because their PC cant push fps that high
And since the hand grapple speed is directly tied to fps, it puts people with worse PCs at a disadvantage, although it's been proven that you can beat the game at 1 fps

Idk if anyone told him but the reason why high fps tricks arnt allowed in speed runs is because not everyone can afford good computers but everyone can tank a computer's fps

@@variaxi935 Disagree but I don’t understand why their can’t be 2 differing type of speed runs. Ones where people can use High FPS cause they were able to spend that amount for it. So a special case. And one where anyone’s allowed but at a moderate FPS for everyone.
@@variaxi935 but tbf , most athletes (at a high level) arent paying for their own specialized meal plans , or if they are , they are usually within reach for you average person. They are usually sponsored or work for a team that likely provides the diet they need to undertake. Meanwhile high end devices can be quite expensive devices , and most people speed running arent being sponsored to do so.
@@Someguyy867 then it would exclude people from competing against the other. The entire point of a speedrun is to have everyone evenly matched. Everyone has to be playing the same version otherwise it's just not fair. Otherwise you aren't even playing the same Speedrun.

Common graphics cards nowadays can run at 240 fps on a 240hrtz monitor completely fine there not even that expensive you just gotta wait until they go on sale or buy them used
A lot of good graphics card are on a massive sale on ebay rn, now that crypto mining isn't profitable, miners are selling off their $1500/3000 worth graphics card for $400/500. Just be careful about the quality of the seller if you decide to.
Game is so actually broken that a guy called Astral Speedran the game with no running and jumping, and said guy also Speedran 100% (Collecting every collectible on the way) and even beat the Mommy sequence blindfolded.
240 fps is banned cause it’s hardware dependent, if you don’t have the right computer setup you won’t be able to make the most out of the advantage it gives you (which I believe is primarily making your swings faster)
This was awesome. Yay for more speedrun videos! I agree though, that the time shouldn't be included for what is essentially an autoscroller with no interaction. I know that some other games allow higher FPS but just in their own category. They could do something like that tbh. Anyways yeah, this was really cool!

In case anyone wanted to know, 240 fps isn’t allowed because the swing speed is tied to the frame rate. The higher the fps the faster the swing, but not everyone can run 240 so not allowed
0:31 time stops usually when you cant do anything anymore if you can move, you may be able to cut out the trainride or a part of it (for instance) so time doesnt stop least thats my understanding 👌
