Just come across this - I have the JBL 308P MkIIs as my speakers for music playback in my home office via my M2 Mac Mini Pro & SMSL XLR DAC /Van Damme XLR cables and they're superb I wanted to reduce my box count from separates (Cyrus, Kef, lots of cables etc) and the JBLs have done a superb job IMO They sound fantastic and they go VERY loud indeed, more so in my home office I have them sat on big/heavy mass-filled Atacama stands and that's really helped them sing at their best They also have much better clarity for the music I listen to; but then their bass-weight is superb also for the more modern music I listen to. Like you; I demo'd them against the ADAM A7Xs and the Focal Alpha 65s as well as the ADAM TV7s and for me, the JBLs suited my ears and music tastes better. I personally found the Focal's too sharp on their high end and the ADAMs weren't that much better than the JBLs for me, and I didn't want to pay their price here in the UK I listen to everything from Frank Sinatra/Nat King Cold to Jethro Tull to Metallica/System of a Down to Mount Kimbie/London Elektricity and so on; so a very eclectic taste
thanks Bill for the review. I see you have Apple TV. I use a 5.1 channel Edifier system with a 10 inch woofer for my desktop computer setup and everything sounds fantastic, thanks again Bill
