Oh man, such a fantastic song. That and Even Less are my favorites in the (kind of) middle period of PTree. Good recommendation!

Great reaction as always Dean. I have 3 suggestions for Porcupine Tree. 1) Anesthetize: their magnum opus, a must do 2) The Start of Something Beautiful: one of my favourites, great 9/8 bassline 3) Russia on Ice: you liked Dark Matter, so I think you'll appreciate this softer one

Gavin Harrison is an awesome drummer. You should check his Drumsongs. An instrumental songs made enritrely with drums and percussion. You can find them on RU-vid. They have nice, visual videos.

Another band you should listen to that no one really reacts to is Threshold. They are a British Prog metal band that have been around since the late 80's. You should check out Pilot in the Sky of Dreams full version as there is an edited 4 min version (pah!). Its an incredible song and it showcases the great vocals of Andrew "Mac" McDermott who was their vocalist for about half their albums, but sadly passed away from kidney failure in 2011.

If you want to react to a prog metal band almost no one reacts to, check out Vanden Plas. Vanden Plas are kind of the 'German Dream Theater', but without all the shreddy musical gymnastics. They've been around since the '80s (1st album in 1994 tho) with the same 5 guys all this time.

Yes Vanden Plas are incredible, definitely see them as a Simpler, paired down version of Dream Theater, but no less Awesome!

Very cool choice. I just started diving into Porcupine Tree. Actually just posted a drum cover of one of their songs. Gavin Harrison has really started to inspire me. I really love his groove. He's got really creative drum parts and fills. I'm glad you sit back and enjoy the music and then talk. It's a nice change of pace compared to other channels :)

You should try not changing the speed of the song to avoid being taken down by RU-vid It totally fucks an awesome song up. NOT SUBing just because of that.

I didnt change the speed. I never have videos taken down, totally above board and legit, youtube is A-ok with what I do. The copyright owners get money, not me. Cheers. Ps I've got lots of subs thankyou very much

decent instrumentals but super boring vocals. haven't listened to much porcupine tree so somebody link a song to me with more interesting vocals

I like the XM live version of Slave called shiver from the XM Radio sessions (2003). Steven Wilson's never had a super interesting voice, but in some performances like that or the Anesthetize live version he definitely pushes himself.
