You need to listen to the studio version. The instrumental interlude uses banjo. It's such a whimsical evocation of childhood's halcyon days!

Porcupine Tree own the rights to their live gigs, I believe. They never block. I've only seen the latest album music vjdeos get blocked because the production rights belong elsewhere.

This song has always puzzled Steven himself. He has never been able to figure out why it is so hugely popular. He doesnt even particularly like it himself and Richard Barbierie - the keyboard player - disses it as being a River Dance derivitive (if you listen to the studio version you will understand more as to why he thinks that) but his fan base love it to the point that as you can see, it was even the closer for them for some time.

The guitar is made by a company called Babicz. And it’s known as the spider design. Supposedly the design gives a better resonance and it was or is popular for touring bands for live performances. Not sure if what I read is true but that’s the claim. This is a very basic PT song. There are lots like this as well as their more complex but this is one of the more popular as it’s digestible for most people. And yes, we now have two amps where he needs to play. He brings his Markbass stuff to school and his church job but both places have backups if needed. And like you, he rarely brings a backup bass unless he switching between his jazz bass and hot fretless or acoustic. And I’ll tell him about the strings. He’s used flat-wounds on his old stingray that he sold and has thought about it for his jazz bass but hasn’t done it yet. I’ll remind him that restringing a bass is not as important as a guitar! Not sure the order you are doing for my requests but I really can’t wait to see your reaction to those 3 i put under the “why” category. 😀

its important if you are using round wounds. Cause they are bright and then they die out the older they get. And it's not a 'good' die out. Flat wounds on the other hand....
