I went to a friend's picnic back in 1973. They made Porcupine meatball. I just remembered about them the other day and wanted to make some. I was just filping through RU-vid and saw you making them. It was the first time i seen your video.
Hi Karen, I just love the idea of how you cooked this in 1 dish 👍🏼👍🏼 You both are such a sweet couple 💞 I find recipes are so valuable and will be passed down with so much meaning. Thank you for alowing all of us to enjoy you having time to cook your yummy food.
What a wonderful cookbook! It is surely a precious family heirloom. . . and it keeps all the memories alive with every meal made. When I was a child, I thought porcupines were so elegant. Probably because we had them so rarely.
I was just remembering when I was a teenager, my cousin making these in a brown gravy. Hers were round. It brought back good memories. I'm putting these on next weeks meal plan. Thank you
Hey Miss Karen...Ive heard of these but have never made them they looked easy to make .....love how Miss Patchy gets excited when her daddy comes home...yall have a good day!
Hey Ms.Karen, Love this recipe, Looks so delicious. Thank you for sharing. Hope you all are well. GOD Bless You and your Family STAY SAFE AND WELL ❤️❤️🩵🩵💛💛
Hi Karen, Porcupines was one of the first recipes I made when I was about 14. I found it in the women's companion cookbook that my grandmother gave to my Mom. Fast forward 50 years, and I haven't made them in a while, but your recipe has me wanting to make them. Thank you for the memory boost, and thank you for sharing your recipes. 🙂♥️
I sure have missed you and Pops, I’ve been under the weather a bit. But glad I tuned in today to see this fabulous recipe! Can’t wait to try it since I’m feeling better. Thank you so much for sharing your family and your scrumptious recipes. 🩷💚fromGeorgia !😎
Porcupine meatballs are still a favorite meal for my family. We cook them on the stovetop and simmer the balls in tomato soup and water. There is usually some loose rice that thickens the tomato soup and it goes great with mashed potatoes and peas. We had porcupines for dinner just a few weeks ago but now I'm hungry for them again!
Looks delicious as usual, that cookbook is a special treasure! I just received my cookbook from you and I absolutely love it! We also tried the green tomato recipe from one of your videos and we thought it was awesome! Thanks so much for sharing, you guys are a precious couple! God Bless you and your family!
👋♥️🙏♥️👋I believe we called these meatballs “Swedish Meatballs”. They are delicious. I also like them in a mushroom gravy. Yummm. Thanks Karen. Have a great weekend. ♥️👋🙏👋♥️Jennifer
This is one of the first dishes I learned to made in High School cooking class, we loved it! I also wanted to say you look really cute, love your outfit 💙
I love porcupine meatballs but my husband’s not a meatball fan but I bet he’d eat porcupine discs. Thanks for sharing this family favorite recipe with us, I’ll for sure be trying these. My husband and our youngest daughter likes to put a spoon full of corn in the well of mashed potatoes then gravy over it all.
I'm attaching a video that we did of Pop Jones making his ham. He's our ham baker and it's amazing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QeOISgabqQ8.html
I do enjoy your videos so much. Never heard of porcupines, but I'd like to give them a try. I wonder if I could trouble you to share where you found the gloves you wore in this video? Thanks again for sharing your kitchen with us.
Karen - I remember this recipe for Porcupines from my childhood - my mama made it the same as you with the brown gravy and mashed 'taters - and peas & carrots were a favorite as well. Thanks for the memory lane walk. I love the expression on Patchie's face at the end of your videos.
I sitting watching you and eating some oatmeal with maple flavoring, raisins and walnuts. I know better than to watch you without eating 😂. Sounds delicious. Love and big hugs. ❤❤
