Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 in with us today for some more noise and more power 🔥
• Akrapovic Link Pipes
• Ohlins PASM Delete Kit
• Braided Brake Lines
• Custom Dyno Tune 📈
After installing the Akrapovic Link Pipes, we did some tweaks to the ECU to accommodate for the new exhaust system, and it responded very well.
Stock: 410bhp & 317ft-lb
Final Revision: 447bhp & 337ft-lb

40bhp just by removing the opf’s is mad! Does it need an ecu tune after changing the pipes?

Nice vid, you mentioned a PASM delete right at the end; what was the connection to the ecu and pipes you were showcasing , or does it have non OEM shocks and unrelated?

I had full 3-way Nitrons fitted. This disables auto blip, so a PASM delete kit is required (I went with the KW kit) - seperate video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ABTJocgwGoY.html

I've had a tune done on my GTS 4.0 and, viewing the logs, I'm getting between 5 and 6 degrees of knock retardation in the midrange, mostly on cylinder 1. What's a 'safe' amount of max retardation to be running at?

Is this a UK or US car? It doesn't make sense to have any knock retardation but it is safe providing it pulls it out :)

I think you mean safe *minimum*. Retarding the timing is a safety feature to prevent detonation. In this video he removed that feature altogether (if I understand him correctly). That, to me, sounds a bit risky. He seems to know what he’s doing though, so maybe it’s okay..

Please correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t this decat the car as well as OPF delete since they’re one unit - so it smells like a tractor

OPFs are on the over axle pipe and the cats are connected to the manifold or header on each side. They are one section removed from each other or one connection up stream.

Porsche Caymans tend to respond well to airflow and tuning upgrades. This, being a larger capacity engine as well, seems to fit right into that trend. I wouldn’t be surprised at this. In the 3.4, gains of 30 hp are quite common.

Same, but with an engine management light and the occasional limp mode. The ECU is actually pulling timing with the GPF's in place ... removing them means it doesn't have to :)

Wow, 410 hp at the wheel on a stock GT4? That seems too high given that the car is rated at 414 at the crank. Any thoughts or explanation on that?

He’s definitely talking about calculated flywheel figures. They tend to try do the same for the vag and Audi community’s since it’s normal for those guys. The Mustangs it’s always wheel numbers 👍🏼

It's not a 'basic' exhaust change though is it, they won't advertise it but think about what has been removed ;)

@@bendunn5422 bro this is a NA car. Not a turbo. There's FK all you can do to get more power bro. Headers extractors maybe but 30kw gain straight exhaust change and removing shit does jack. I've spent close to 20 years on a race track and modifying cars. So I know where what how can gain power. The fact you won't do a straight video and you cut and splice footages all over the place instead of 1 straight video from dyno to read out tells me you are full of it and you are hiding shit

You're delusional if you believe this horsehit. This guy cant show a dyno run and results straight up without switching in and out of footage. He can pull up any dyno results and claim its the gains. Complete garbage. I've spent 20 years buying and tuning NA, Super Charged, Turboed cars and racing them and ive spent 100's of thousands of dollars tuning and modifying cars and ive spent years and years and years learning from major tuners modifying cars. NA cars are not like turbo cars where you can just dial up boost to get more horespower gains. Wake up. You're fking clueless

@@robbyjai bro Porsche is/has been trying too appeal to the reliable market for years. They leave 20whp on the table from factory on 718s & closer to 50 on some 911s cat restriction and better mapping will give any car 20whp with the right tuner. U sound like u never touched a car in ur life
