We all should be fortunate to find a gem like a 912.

We got the engine started about a week after receiving it. It ran like a top!

Much appreciated Chris! I wouldn't be able to walk past it for 40 years without trying to bring it back to life, but life has many avenues.

You should let Larry Kosilla detail it for you before you go further. Just power washing it after 40 years is not the right thing to do. www.youtube.com/@AMMO-NYC/featured

This; how stupid do you have to be to take a power washer to an amazing find like that? Completely stupid. Moronic.

I gotta admit the opening scenes make me sad. Two guys show up to grab the 912 and barely interact with the seller who probably bought the car new. Then they’re just gone..no handshake, no effort for closure after almost 60 years of ownership. Even if it’s out of self-interest, honoring that moment a bit would go a long way towards supporting the car’s story which is a big part of the legacy of a collectors car like this. My $0.02.

Well the video doesn't show that but now I know that I need to capture that as well. The owner had us in for brownies and showed his photography collection. I'm new to doing video as I consider myself just a photographer. There is a great story attached with this.

@@joshuapasweeney Sorry I didn’t first say nice job(!) on filming the event and it’s great to hear that there was some good, human interaction. I’m sure that meant a lot to the seller! After desiring a 912 for 50+ years myself I know I’d be in a deep funk if I had to let one go.

@@charlesgould9701 Thank you much for “the rest of the story”. I apologize if I made it sound like no relationship happened. I was just commenting on how it appeared in the film. Knowing this back-story brings back the warm fuzzies that this sweet 912 and it’s long-time owner deserves. Nicely done!

Thank you. The emotion, passion and nostalgia of the owners that have preserved these cars for all these years, is of paramount importance to us with each and everyone of these barn finds. We often bring the car back for the former owner to see and drive after we have resurrected it from its long slumber.

@@charlesgould9701 Very cool - that would make a great follow-up video! I gotta admit I’m of the not-overly-restoring school regarding cars like this. I’d love to see it brought to perfect operating condition while still wearing its originality with pride. But whatever you do I’m sure it’ll be wonderful. Good luck!
