HI THERE 🖐
Welcome to CMD and my first impressions drive video of this STUNNING one of a kind Porsche 911 992 Turbo S. THE BIG DADDY of the 911 line up - this BRAND NEW car is owned by Paul S who kindly threw me the keys to see what its all about.
A "everyday super car" or another "hype machine" - i set out over the Cotswold roads to find out!
On reflection - the outright capability and pace of this package was mind blowing to experience. Having driven rivals such as a McLaren 720S on the channel - whilst I wouldn't want to do ANY disservice to that car - this thing felt so much more!
But if it was your money - firstly congratulations... But where would you spend it?
Mine - obviously would be here! ☝

The only bad thing about the Turbo S is...where do you go from here? You're not going to find anything faster unless you want to pay stupid money and if it's not fast enough for you, then you live in a different world than I do. When people say it's too fast, they mean you will almost never find yourself in a circumstance where you can use all the car has to offer. That being said, I'm going to keep mine but I think a car like the Lotus Emira in either version would be more actual fun to drive but good luck getting one here in the US.

I had the exact same feeling of being a passenger to speed while driving a 997 turbo s many years ago. This thing must just be insane. Nice to see you putting out regular videos, thanks to the owner for being so generous with his cars.

They've spoiled the looks. The b&w chequered interior inserts with brown leather is vomit inducing, the side window tinting disrupts the cohesiveness, and the rear spoiler cheapens the overall appearance. The classy elegance is gone, replaced with desperation.

Loved the spec. Perfect. Having had 991.2 version,the Turbo S is a hugely capable & gorgeous car. I longed for those (very) brief moments to open it up. Only an autobahn gave me a glimpse at its limitless potential to warp my senses. And that is what ultimately led me to sell it. Frustration and a little sadness at not being able to do that every day. Safely. But every person who loves an ICE should sell the proverbial kidney to experience a Turbo S. And it will actually cost you nothing really.

So sad to hear you had one but sold it! I just bought one and I will be buried in it! I am taking it to the other world with me! This thing is ferocious at the least! I'm under 2sec 0-60 and she does 210mph all on the softest most comfortable of all Porsches! I love it!

Great to see the Heritage Design Classic interior in the video. It’s the first time I’ve seen that in a video. I’m rather bored with black leather, although practical. The light grey paint is simply smashing! Having driven a friends 992 Carrera S, but not a Turbo S, I’m very much looking forward to taking delivery of a Turbo S in October. I chose dark olive metallic paint with the same camel interior package, but substituted the Pepita seat and door panel inserts to full leather, along with some other interior and exterior personal options from the “Sonderwunsch” program. 😍

Love the colour choices buddy - fair play for going specialist. I did a video at the new Nottingham centre and there was a GTS with similar spec to what you mentioned and it was v tidy 👌 (Think it’s on the video) 🤔 Cheers for view and comments

@@CarMadDad Thanks for your suggesting your video of the Nottingham Porsche centre. The GT3 Touring may indeed be painted dark olive metallic. The color is so dark it's usually difficult to identify, and can easily be mistaken for black when the surroundings aren't really bright. Good choice going with Öhlins upgrades on your M2. I fitted an Öhlins fork and rear damper/spring to my BMW R Ninet-T a few years ago. In fact they made a special spring for my 70kg body weight and riding without a passenger. It really enhanced the bike!

Trouble is you can't enjoy it on British roads (I had a 991-1 turbo not the s) all the time all you are doing is restraining it and holding it back, try and let it go and you've as you say lost your license.

Thanks CMD for filming and sharing an insight into such an amazing car. This car is the one that slays so many others but you know what, after watching this I went back and rewatched the spyder video and that has the fizz that this one seems to be lacking - I know how ungrateful is that more so because I could never afford a Turbo but would happily provide drive space for one but as a car enthusiast that spyder is the one. It's super capable, a real sense of occasion if you're a Porsche guy, but it lacks drama. I mean if you want a well-rounded daily-able super car, there probably isn't a substitute... But it's some compromise for a daily, unless you have bucket loads of cash of course.

I’ve driven both but definitely prefer my gt3 touring especially with the 6 speed manual you can actually use all if the power and it’s a much more connected feeling

It's good to have friends with cars they are willing to share. With a little notice I could take my pick from a Nissan Frontier pickup, a Chrysler PT Cruiser-bread van, a Kia Forte or 12 year old Lexus SUV. My P-car is an excellent example of how to poverty spec when ordering, so of course I think the plethora of options the Turbo S is festooned with is a massive waste of money. Nice car otherwise.😆

Dislike the matte finish, love the brown leather, not entirely convinced by the dogtooth but don't dislike it. I very much like the Turbo/Turbo S as a product.

Any Lamborghini twin turbo Huracan owners out here that also own this 911 Turbo S? The 911 Turbo S is a fantastic car but the Lambo V10 is hard to beat especially when you add two turbos!!!

Great review. Did it have the sports pasm? Where it is lowered 10mm more than the stock pasm on the turbo s? Helpful to know based on how you felt on how it handled the bumps.

Honestly, I think these turbo S models are too much. Many years ago, I owned a whale tail "widowmaker" 911 turbo. It was manageable, even a low rpm and low speeds. I tested the brand new Turbo S this summer, with a view to purchasing one. I was bitterly disappointed. They just aren't relevant anymore..too damm quick and an almost guaranteed way to lose your licence. I know that people want to scratch the itch, but I certainly couldn't live with one if used regularly. Must be getting old!

Porsche vehicles cost what they cost because not only are they supercars but they are super reliable as well, which is something you can't say about any of the others it competes with!!!
