That FX was vastly outgunned in this race. It was the only naturally aspirated vehicle there. I think Nissan should give the FX some of that GTR magic, like how the Cayenne has a base V6 and V8, all the way to the V8 bi-turbo GTS version. Oh, what a monster that Infiniti would become...
Wouldn't need to do a lot to it. GTR engine and box swap then tyres and suspension adjustments to suit. Only downside is you have to wait a while for boost in a GTR. I don't know how well that would translate into a big SUV.
@@michaelstar4227 these cars are more than a decade old since this video was made lol. You only see the infiniti on the road with more than 200k the others I can't speak the same .
The Infiniti FX50S looks a decade newer then those clunkers and would be faster with a more suitable driver! That’s not to mention the reliability, resale, and rarity! 🦄
After watching this video, I bought a X6M over the weekend. I was initially going with the RR but it just can't compete. The X6M is a completely different beast when comparing to other SUVs here. There is so much technology that makes it a driver's car. Loving it.
@@KC-lg8qf Just so everyone knows, its been 1yr since I got my 2010 X6M (now at 196k KMs). Yes there were some stuff that went wrong: 1. aux turbo coolant pump: bought from fcp euro for $140 and took me about 4hrs to install 2. Waterpump: will cost about $1000 to get it installed as I can't do it myself I've put an exhaust on it and have a Dinan tune so now it's making over 600hp. I paid less than $20k CAD for this. I am very happy with it, hope you guys all look into one. They are truly bargains.
@@АйратШайхутдинов-ч8ж I have been in german cars too (Countryman and Bmw X6) they are fine, but this Infiniti is so fun to drive. Again, on my experience the X6 is fine, but I would rather the Infiniti again. Just my opinion. 👍
Why is there no camera on the BMW's roof at the beginning of the race; then there IS a camera on the roof in the middle of the race; then there isn't at the end of the race ? Is it retractable ?
Wait until the Infiniti FX IPL engine comes out, then it will place second with out doubt. The BMW X6 I think will always take the lead in this segment in terms of the legendary M performance but the Infiniti is all stock, it is simply a larger engine offering while the other competitors are actual High performance engines. Just the fact that an FX50 could keep up with the others is very impressive to me. The IPL engine will definitely make the FX a Major threat!!
@@Caydendayoutuber To beat this heavy Range Rover a well run Infiniti shouldn´t need a turbocharger. My Qx70s 5.0 does 0-60 in 5.2, 0-100 in 13.2 and 0-125 in in 23.4.
+katart4ever you know I love Porsche I mean really love Porsche, I'm big fan of Volkswagen group. however........ if you look on price tag, BMW x6m is 100k while turbo is already 10k over and turbo s is 50k over. so it really doesn't make any fair race. x6m have 567 hp with 100k while cayenne turbo s have 570 hp with 150k which technically BMW is better in race. just saying. but I don't like bmw. I'm tired of how they look.
Father in law on the 3rd Datsun rot box from new. They never last and he always having issues including catastrophic engine failures (main dealer serviced). My now 13 year old Cayenne S is rock solid and is still like new!
I still think it's funny they stuck the FX50 in there. It's the cheapest by far and has 100hp/tq less than the slowest of the other 3, obviously on a 'race' of this length it would not do well against the other contenders. this is sort of a biased race if you ask me. Plus, they have the porker drive it!
If you take M Power BMW- than compare it with Infiniti FX50s Vettel Edition (and another thing is that FX has naturally aspired engine- not turbo like rest of them !!!)
And which one will still be around after the weekend. well, we all know of Range Rover's flawless relatability, and the Cayenne doesn't seem to be any better. My friends X5 is falling apart as we speak and it's debatable if it'll do a 1/4 mile run without breaking down, which means; if you have one ounce of feeling for your bank balance, the Infinity wins!
In reality the FX50s is the best choice, because it's the cheapest still very fast and actually has a better interior than the boring BMW look. If i had the money I'd still buy the FX50 it looks pretty awesome in real life.

Sorry but after that race the X, the Porsche and RR can be driven directly to engine service - while the Infiniti is most probably still driving these days down the streets
Even after 12 years, the FX50 is my favorite SUV, for comfort, I'd prefer the Porsche Cayenne. For luxury, I'd take the Ranger Rover Sport SC. But for all of the above my favorite is the FX50. Big, beefy, 5.0l V8. Sure, it's sorta slow, but it can haul butt.

karfCZ truly false. Schnitzer and Hartge for example are tuner of BMW. AMG have to get a ready built up car from Mercedes and than disassamble it to tune it .Hope you can catch the difference :-) M-Version is also BMW no other company.
1) You're just couldn't drive this fx50.. 2) This man is just fatter than other ones.. Guys just take a look to the other drivers.. They've got at least -100 kg less weight. 3) Anyway, I can drive it the way better and faster..
That is correct the 2012 SRT8 is available, the video was uploaded in 2010, the older SRT8 went on sale in 2010 i can't say it was or wasn't on sale in the UK. Jeeps don't sell well in the UK anyways, they don't have the prestige feel such as the porsche or range. However you are correct it could have been added to the test
Have you seen top gear USA? The Range Rover was faster than the Cherokee SRT8 and the escalade, so the Cherokee will be the last one in this comparative. But no one can follow a Range Rover out road.
To make it a bit more even, they should all be in Sport mode, the RR definitely operates in a more sedate manner than the BMW without it. Dash cameras would show that off instantly.

i used to find the x6 rear a bit weird but now m used to it n i think its the best looking suv in the market. according to my taste it also has the best handling.
@MrMBMW93 Try to remember this is a Eurpean comparison not a US comparison. The Infiniti FX just came out 2 years ago in the UK so it only made sense at the time to introduce and put it up against its German rivals. The FX50 however I agree appropriately competes with the V8 rivals like the X5, Cayenne and Range Rover. Good thing is Mercedes and Infiniti are now partners, the soon to come IPL FX, G, M, will recieve Mercedes AMG engines and Mercedes will get Infiniti's hybrid technology.
The cost is significantly more. They usually try and base these around a certain price range. The Cayenne turbo S is easily the fastest though. The same goes for the Panamera and the m5 comparisons. They always do the gts instead of the turbo which would blow their doors off. They are just much much more expensive.
An awesome range of jeeps. Once i heard that there was a BMW X6 M it was obvious to me who was the winner already. It was predictable, you have to agree. :) Those who disagree are not BMW fans or are just not familiar with the M power. You go BMW M-series!
No not really, you tell me to get my facts straight? The Porsche Cayenne was introduced in 2003 for the North American market after the Infiniti FX had been introduced in 2002 as a 2003 model. The FX did set the bench mark in the US. However I will give you this, the Cayenne was available a couple months prior in Europe but only in Europe.
