The 997 (2010-2011) Porsche GT3 and GT3 RS are notorious for their Front Axle Lift failure. Here's how to tell if yours has failed, and the likely solution. Porsche usually replaces the entire system at a cost of upwards of $10,000, but we've found that it rarely solves the problem long term and the actual fix is much less expensive.

Once again Doug, you are a commensurate contributor to our obsessive addictions called Porsche GT cars! TY! (Btw, glad mine doesn’t have that option 😇)

Thanks Doug, out of curiosity are the pressure switches typically a component of the all inclusive replacement method practiced by Porsche dealerships that you describe?

Great vid, Doug. I have this exact issue on my ‘11RS. How do figure out which pressure switch is faulty or do you usually just replace them both?

Replace the cheaper one first. 😎

@@switchcars lol. Helpful. By chance have part numbers?
@switchcars

@@only3pedals Sort of. We literally went with "the cheaper one first" as the diagnostics did not tell us if it was the high-side or low-side switch that was bad. We guessed right. Also, there are at least two different variants of the system itself, and that can have an impact on which ones fit (I think the thread sizes are different?). The part number that has worked for us on the last two is 997-341-967-90. Note this was the "coarse thread" one, from pump # 000-112.
