I can't remember exactly, as it's been over a year, but here goes. The first blue portal shot in this video is not needed. It's possible to use the repulsion gel by itself to get to the vent at 0:26. What this means however is that you somehow need to get enough velocity to bounce up to that vent. But no matter what height you fall from in the starting room, there's no way to reach it. But what you can do is use the blobs of gel to propel yourself faster into the gel, so that you can reach at least the bottom of the gel dropper. If you let a blob of gel explode onto you while your that high up, sometimes the gel will splash onto a very small section of the ceiling next to the dropper. ^^ That's all in the realm of possibility, but here's where it gets nasty. Now you have to somehow hit your head onto that small section, (assuming you don't accidentally hit the dropper instead) bouncing down with a much faster velocity than you had previously and then have a fast enough reaction time to be able to bounce off the ground and strafe away from the ceiling to reach up to the vent. Practically impossible, but not theoretically :)
