Portishead Marina is a very pleasant place to live, to dine out and to just enjoy strolling along the waterside. I did the latter and will share some highlights of the walk with you here, along with a few fascinating facts about the things we see along the way.

Ah lovely! So pleased you enjoyed it! I loved re discovering it and placing the places I remembered in vague childhood memories into their actual locations. Now I have got my bearings I can not wait to go back and make a proper video about the town and beach area too!

Thanks Cathy! I am looking forward to showing the lovely town and some beach walks around there sometime soon too. What I enjoyed most about my day there was piecing together vague memories of places and seeing how they are located in the town. I had no idea what was near what. Also, I love that I can now visualise the area where my dad used to work when I was little.

Thanks so much Faith 🤗 I love evening sunshine for walking but it’s sometimes tricky for filming. Yes, the sculpture trail is fascinating. I am looking forward to going back there to do a fish video now that I have my bearings.

Thanks Amanda! I would love to wake up to the marina views every day and remember that in that same place my dad worked when it was a power station.

What an amazing looking place Louise! I really didn't think that Portishead looked like this! I only heard about it because of the old power station and the band, Portishead. I must take a trip out there one day. I guess you can get there on the bus from Bristol Bus Station. Great tour Louise! Take care, Paul.

It’s a lovely town Paul. So glad I have rediscovered it. Yep, you can get there on the bus from Bristol bus station. The buses run really regularly out there and it’s a lovely journey and goes through another village that my grandparents lived in that I will definitely cover for the channel one day too.

Great video Louise. Used to go to portishead in the 1970 s & as you said wasn't there then. How amazing its been re developed & looks so lovely. 😊

Oh wow!! Our paths may have crossed there as I was there in the 1970s too! I really like the marina development. We moved away because the power station would be closing. My dad got a job in another power station in Wales.

I'm so close to Portishead but I've never actually visited, I really must correct this soon as your evening stroll looked lovely 😃

Ah yes., you must visit Jesse! It’s lovely!! It’s a really nice bus ride. It was particularly nice for me as I passed through places that I have lots of vague childhood memories of. Villages etc. My old school is no longer there but the town high street still felt familiar. There is a beach and an open air swimming pool and also coastal walks there.

Goodness that area has changed. Hope you liked my super yacht 😂😁😂😄

Oh, it was yours!! It’s a very nice looking yacht!! Yes, it’s really changed. I don’t remember it how it was when I lived there, but it makes for a really pleasant wander. Parts of the town are as I remember… like some of the high street, although my old school has gone. Also the beach and marine lake felt familiar.

I thought the statue looked more like matchsticks 😊

I agree. Once I had heard that explanation I could really see it and it links in with the town’s history of producing phosphorus.
