A bit of back story and general lore concerning the Ogre Kingdoms as represented in Warhammer fantasy battles. Tried with the music off this time, any view points? music off or music on?
essentially it would be like sending minotaurs with great weapons against a giant unit in TWW keep in mind that the giants who roam the world today are essentially the retarded cousins and sons of those who the ogres destroyed
The Sky Titans probably had a much smaller population than other intelligent races, so even the Ogres with 1/3 their original populace was a lot. Also, each Sky Titan basically soloed the entire Ogre race, which didn't help.
Oh yes the ogres aren't picky about there employment, i really would like to see them as a faction thou as the new Total War Attila migration mechanics would be perfect for them!
Arch Warhammer It would also be interesting to see how they would manage to balance what would essentially be a whole faction composed almost entirely of monster units.
Jørgen A if i was the guys at CA, I would balance them by making the Ogres tough but not invincible, and have them in units of say 10-15 but also to make them expensive as well have high upkeep, its the only way I can think of how they could possibly balance an ogre faction and units
Duke: ”hey astromancers.... I want to summon a giant toothy maw that drives the ogres to cannibalism and slowly devour the world.” Astromancer: ”Done.” Duke:”Wait what?” Astromancer: ”its what you asked” Duke: ”I was joking! Joking!!” Astromancer: ”I did what you asked? Are you not happy?” Duke: ”NO!!! Learn how to joke!”
I miss this Arch. The good Arch. You got me into Warhammer fantasy with these old lore videos. Come back man. So much has happened with Total War Warhammer. How can you still be this bitter? The game is so amazing now.
Just want to point out that the hunger of the ogres is very reminiscent of American-Indian myths of the wendigo. Hmmmm such a frightening thought Ogre-wendigos.
Pretty cool faction! I like their cozak eastern style and we can imagine the rude life of Ogre lives in their montains. ^^ Il like also the little gnoblars, they are fun!
i hope that by the end of all the DLCs the map of the old world will stretch as far as the mountains of mourn down to the southlands which would add a zoom for the mini map
putting the oger kingdoms in the game might prove problematic because of their distance from the core game, and I don't see ca dedicating an entire new release just to fit both them and the chaos dwarves onto the picture. mostly because like what else is over their? A relatively tiny faction of super powerful and destructive chaos dwarves,a conglomerate of get kingdoms to fight over another mountain range, and plenty of orks, because orks are fucking everywhere, I'm not so sure they will add these guys with out getting creative. maybe a faction vampires lead be the first Strigoy, a faction of humans looking to break through to the kingdom on the other side. add that kingdom, and then maybe a couple of beastmen hoards.
Ogres are my favorite race in Warhammer :D Have my own army of them (or... kinda, half of them are broke after an accident :( ) sadly I have so few to play with around here :(
By the the end of the video I ended up eating chips by pretending they are people and I'm a (very big) ogre. XD Glad to see that WH-verse contains fellow gourmets. :p
I'm sure there is a reason he isn't remaing these. I just came back to his channel after many years of just not being here. But he totally should remake these.
I really .... REALLY hope that in Warhammer III: Total War, they Will add more of everything - Albion / Full Lustria for Mortal Empires / Chaos Dwarfs / Ogre Kingdoms / Cathay - ideally the whole World.
Hi, I appreciate your efforts to make these videos, I'll be sure to check out more of them. :) Just want to point out that Cathay is not pronounced "Cathy"... Think Cath... + "ay" from "Gay".
i think i once read the theory that originaly the "teeth" were nothing more than rocks etc. sticking out of the ground after the impact when Onefinger arrived there... he believed it to be a mouth... when he told the other ogres and they started to believe it to actually be "The Great Maw" the Powers of the Warp transformed the area into what they believed it to be... so i sincerely doubt any connection to Slaanesh... just as much as i doubt any connection between Gork (or Mork?) and Khorne
+undertakernumberone1 i doubt that considering that its in the real world, unless its really fucking close to the chaos gates there's almost no way the ogres could transform it based on belief could have been tzeen chain dickery because "just as planned" but there's no way the ogres did it on their own
I'm sorry in advance, I'm trying not to be a smartass here, since nobody likes them. ;) But at the same time I'm wondering where you get your info. Time and again I wonder if I didn't read something else. My 6th edt ogre army book says they were nomads. And that after they became to numerous they pillaged in Cathay and started to develop an appetite for Cathay meat. Also some stuff in the VC lore or army section was not as I remember. I mean it's not that important, I'm just wondering how it is possible I've read quite a lot of different stuff than you apparently did. I still fully intend to listen to all of them, since it's nice to do that while painting my chaos and VC stuff. ;) So thank you for all the "videos". ;)
So now I'm at your favorite race, the Skaven, and I found another example. ^_^ :PP :D The Council of Thirteen consists of twelve skaven and the empty seat which is reserved for the great horned rat ... You said it consists of 13 skaven. Again, not wanting to be a smartass, but are you sloppy (:P) or what are your sources? Tell me! The liber chaotica sounded interesting. And also seems to be in contradiction to the End Times Archaon when the World shatters? Unless it was also not totally accurate... *g*
+Moe Joe does have 13....The horned rat being counted as a skaven. dunno about you, as a skaven player.... I for one will NEVER deny the horned one his skaven err.... ness?
They are already a bitch to kill. So it makes more sense to cover your own softer forces with crafted steel while just getting as many Ogres as you can.
A troll usually stands at around 9 feet. Ogres can average from 7 feet to 11 feet depending. Orcs can get bigger but they have to be fairly old to get that size. Only ones I know of are Black Orcs and they often get close to the size of a Troll but I can only think of one that is larger and thats Grimgor Ironhide.
Tarik Torgaddon Well it really is inspired by Europe. Although not today's Refugee Crisis, but the Migration Period, which caused the fall of Roman Empire by a vast migration of Germanic tribes and Huns to its territories.
*Rangers Lead The Way* If that is the case your reality denying BS will keep you forever a serf of ignorance. Still as your very existence and that of so many other utterly ignorant POS prove, superiority is an INDIVIDUAL genetic reality. The fact is WE are destroying their societies (and using their resources to make ourselves wealthy) and have for centuries. You stupid fuck, Europe, is destroying itself just as the Nazis destroyed Europe's in the 1940's! Hitler #1 White man killer (Slavs).
Oh!,furgive meh ser,oy'z iz just answerin yur question ser....nuffin we need to tell ol'lord greasus'bout now is it?(slips massive bag of chocolate muffins into yer hand)
"They're not just driven by a desire for food they are also driven by the second great motivator of all living things" *Sex* A desire to stay alive.. *Oh, okay that's not the direction I thought it was going. forget I said that.* (LoL)
The Maw is an ever present and conscious inhabitant of each and every ogres mind. it's no run of the mill curse, but more of a very insidious possession.
Somehow I like this faction and don't. On the one hand its not just some blatant rip off of history or another fantasy realm. On the other, they are a bit one dimensional, hungry want to eat lots, smash anything to get to food.
