I had a partial hysterectomy 3 years ago! Best decision ever! My surgery went really well and it took like 7 weeks full recovery. I haven't had any early symptoms of menopause yet, i guess because i still have my ovaries. No more periods, pain, and I'm living my best life! Good luck and blessings to all women that have to go through this procedure. ❤🙏

I just want to tell ladies there is another option. I myself had the worst pain I would have to miss work 2 days a month the pain was unbearable.. nausea cramps so bad I just couldn’t move. I changed to a raw diet and the very next cycle pain went from a 100 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10. Now this is a huge lifestyle change and hard to stick to because we are addicted to “food”. I keep cheating not going to lie but I keep trying. Right now I’m on the watermelon washout. It’s a support group that helps with support zoom calls it’s a whole community. Give it try ladies. Good luck.

I haven't completely went Raw, but I been juicing like crazy and, I no longer wake up in a blood bath or have bad cramping, I haven't had a full period since January "Thank God" because I bled for 2 years straight. I drink 6 juices a day 3 vegetables drink and 3 fruit juices, that I juice weekly. I also notice when I ate chicken, I started to xramp and spot real bad.

I had horrendous fibroids, endometriosis, and periods so heavy that I would bleed through the overnight always pads in 20 minutes on my heaviest flow days. This made me severely anemic. It was so bad I had a hard time keeping a job, and I would legit be outta commission for eight days every month when I got my cycle. I also had to get a few blood transfusions. In 2018, I had a uterine artery embolization. Best thing I ever did, and I got my life back! ❤Your body is experiencing early menopause (night sweats, cramps, bloating, urine pressure etc.) due to a hysterectomy at a younger age. I went through this as well and still go through this from time to time. I had an hysterectomy in my early 30’s, but my doctor told me before I left the hospital be prepared for the body to go through changes early on. I’m now almost 50, but when I go through change of life experiences I’m already use to most because I been experiencing since my 30’s… Things will change as your body continues to heal. However, we always have to listen to our bodies because we’re are all so different.❤Praying for all women because we have to bare so much…🙏💐

I’m currently contemplating a hysterectomy keeping my ovaries, but the consultant said there would be no side effects & my own research tells me otherwise. So now I have distrust for my consultant & am delaying the surgery although my fibroids cause me so much pain which affects my day to day life. December 2022 I had some of my fibroids removed, which significantly reduced the bleeding & anaemia, but the cramps are so much worse. I have 3 children, don’t think I want anymore as my youngest is now 12, but don’t want to trade one problem for another which could be so much worse than I suffer now. It helps reading many of your comments others and that it was a great decision for most, but your video makes me think I need to do more research 🤔 Thanks for your video & thanks to all the ladies that have commented sharing your experiences. It’s very helpful & appreciated.

My 3/1/2024 2.5 hour surgery turned into 6 hours because I had sssso much adenomyosis, endometriosis, cysts, bowel adhesion, etc. I lived with constant, debilitating lower abdominal pain!!! It felt like someone was stabbing my right ovary! Horrible! Painful sex. Nausea. Rectal spasms. Constantly tired. Recovery was absolutely horrible for 4.5 weeks. Since then, LIFE HAS BEEN AMAZING! It’s like a relationship, the first two months, to a year it’s all 💋 and loving then everything stink, everything it’s annoying, boring, no joyful. Just wait. Our body is perfect, we just have to eat the right diet, exercise, and give the correct nutrients. Im 46 and petite, had a full hysterectomy last yr (8 months ago), huge life changer with no regrets. I had 2 c-sections, (after my 1st born, maybe a year later) my Gyne reminded me to continue requesting the same method for child birth. As she noticed, I had scar tissue which made me look pregnant (when I wasn’t) and advised me to request scar tissue to be removed during future c-sections, as I did. I also, requested scar tissue to be removed at the time of my hysterectomy. I can only imagine what my waistline would appear to be, if I didn’t remove the scar tissue during each opportunity. Stay strong, let’s continue to share our stories 💪🏽

OMG I'm so glad your video popped up on my feed! I too have some of the same issues... I had a partial hysterectomy about 5 yrs ago so I still have my ovaries & tubes... but I feel my body is just now starting to get adjusted. I like you- wish I would have NOT had surgery but I had heavy bleeding, cramps, fibroids & endometriosis. The heavy bleeding also caused me to become very anemic. I'd had my fibroids removed the year prior but they came back, so I opted for surgery as a last resort. Last year I started having bladder issues & had a minor surgery where they discovered that my bladder lining had portions of the prior endometriosis, so they removed that tissue & it was a success. I'm 1000% better now w/ no more bladder issues. A hysterectomy is a TOTAL LIFE adjustment! Mood, weight gain, bladder & abdominal issues & so on. My advice is LADIES please research your options first; there may be something else that will work for you! Blessings to You & everyone going thru this! 🧡🧡🧡

"UFE" Uterine Fibroid Embolization", is where tiny particles are introduced through the femoral artery to block the blood supply to the Fibroids. I had this procedure after I had passed out from severe blood loss(2nd time first time I had 3 blood transfusions, this time I had 4 blood transfusions). I always had a severe cycles from first cycle to last. I also suffered from severe Endometriosis, this last cycle it was a waterfall, I stand up and blood just flowed out of me. I was rushed to the hospital where my blood count was a 6, it had dropped to a 5 by the time I was admitted. My OB/GYN came to visit, my mom had come into town to help with my Son while I was in the hospital. So my family is in the room and my Dr, asked if I wanted a Hysterectomy and I said "No". My Mom said "why not, you're not using it" 😶😶😶😅😅😅 we all laughed. I had the UFE and I haven't had a cycle since, the particles blocked the blood supply to my Fibroids and blocked my Fallopian tubes. Straight into menopause. Ladies you have options, please research every option open to you. I hope this info helps, 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I have two, 2 cm fibroids I've had for the last 15 years. She told me I have multiple covering my uterus and I needed it to be removed immediately. I switched to a doctor who looks like me & it all was a lie. All of the symptoms I was having was because of the chicken, sugar, & bc. Hi Shell! I honestly wanted to say Thank U! I don't have anyone to talk to about this that's been through a hysterectomy. Not that I want people to also suffer. For many many years I had unpredictable menstrual cycles. It would show up whenever. As a result of fickle cycles, pain and eventually heavy hemorrhaging that lead to fainting 20 years apart, that also included blood transfusions, I was talked to, by a new Dr about a hysterectomy. I was soooo excited to get rid of any culprit responsible for my misery. After the fact, immediate hot flashes, sweating in my sleep, putting on lotion leads to sweating on my face, my scalp sweats. I've gained more weight and I already had a C-section prior to the procedure. The many years of uncertainty regarding my disrespectful cycles and hemorrhaging was awful. I'm overall glad that I had the procedure however it was a TOTAL hysterectomy. I can't undo anything but I'd advise any potential patient to ask 850 questions or until satisfied. I get some sort of strange discomfort that I did not have prior to the procedure. Dr didn't seem concerned but ummmmm. My new Dr says all looks well. Any-whoooo ladies, please do your research to see what's best for YOU. Again, thanks Shell. It helps that real people speak about these subjects. God bless u all in Jesus holy name 🙏🏼

This was one of the best decisions i made having a Total Hysterectomy i bled for ten years very heavy i mean heavy periods. In 2020 i did it and i was traumatized by my monthly periods every month so to see no blood was a relief. After the surgery i went into early menopause and began having high cholesterol. Also my body changed drastically dry skin, premature aging, weight gain, leaking urine due to muscle weakness in my pelvis. So the good thing is no more bleeding, no chronic anemia, and trauma. To my beauty fading, more energy, and peace. Any ladies going through this and are young get your hormones check, eat healthier, stop stressing and listen to your body. I had a partial hysterectomy too. Best decision for me. I was so sick. From age 11, I had debilitating cramps. As I got older, my cycle became heavy. I would pass clots! My cramps were so bad that I was prescribed 1000mg Anaprox (OTC=Alieve). At surgery, my cycle had become 21 days on & 7 days off! That's crazy! I got an ultrasound in my late 20s. I had a bunch of fibroids; from pea to golf ball size. The Ultrasound tech was "scrolling & clicking" while looking at the screen. I asked her if she was "mapping" what she saw. She was. She let me see the screen. My uterus was big back then. My doctor decided to monitor the fibroids. Years later, the fibroids started to grow again. They were pressing against my organs making me randomly throw up 🤮🤢🥴I couldn't do pilates or yoga properly because I couldn't lay on my stomach. Finally, my doctor & I decided to have surgery. At that point uterus was one, huge fibroid. My doctor was also my surgeon. I told her I wanted to see what she removed. She said nah. She did give me the pathology report that listed the size & weight. It was almost the size of a soccer ball & weighed nearly 15lbs! One of my friends told me that I wouldn't know how sick I was until after I recovered from surgery. She was right!

Great video Michelle!! WOW!! Thank you for your honesty and transparency. I have not had a complete hysterectomy, but I had my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed back in late 2018 and I can relate to the sweats and feeling cold - they say that comes with the territory. I still have my uterus, so it is not too bad. The other pains you describe - I don’t experience (thank God 🙏🏾) for that. Overall, I can say, it was the right decision for me. But like you said, every woman is different and every situation is different, so you live and you learn. People should always do lots of research (know the pros and cons) and get multiple professional opinions if you have to. It is your body and you only get ONE! I have a great care team - so I feel very blessed and fortunate to have them. God has you through this journey - Be Blessed Sis! ❤ #LOVEANDLIGHT

Hey Shell, Thank you sharing your story and letting women know what they could be in for. I had a partial hysterectomy in 2015 and I didn't start getting the night sweating until I took the covid vaccination. I did get really bad constipation though right after the procedure, it was so bad that I ended up in the hospital in so much pain one time. I did have the bladder sensitivity as well but since I've been taking saw palmetto for my hair thinning it seems to be helping strengthen my bladder somehow so I don't have the urgency to go all the time. I 🙏and hope that you find what works for you.

Hey there Shell. I had my procedure in April. I watched so many of your videos to help me during and after the process. I didn't have much pain or maybe I was able to tolerate what pain I did feel. Overall the worst part was around week 2 when I starting having a low grade fever due to my body being in shock. So far things are well but I know over the years things may change. When I was diagnosed with endometriosis I got an pelvic ultrasound❤

I am 68 and had a partial hysterectomy by 40. Then total by 43. No more pain and the excessive bleeding were all gone, YAY! However, I encountered so many other problems. Eventually started estrogen therapy and developed breast cancer in 2003, which God delivered me in that situation. I had severe scar tissue and have had several surgeries from that like: 7 times. During one surgery my colon was punctured and part of colon was removed. I had bladder tacked up cause it prolapsed. Over the years, I have overcome so much and learned to deal with other stuff. The one thing I can’t overcome is the sweating!!! I carry a small portable fan with me and make sure I hang out in air conditioning spaces. Lastly, my intimate life improved beyond what I could ever imagine, although over the years that is not so important to me. I just need to get over the “Sweating”. Thanks for talking about what happened to you. Please continue to seek alternative treatments to your problems. Oh, that pouch of your tummy, good luck with that. I am still trying to get rid of it without having lipo suction. I wish you well on this journey. Those that are going through the pain, bleeding and others problems with their uterus, please search basic or natural treatments before having the procedure. If you have tried everything then do what is best for you. Having the surgery or not can alter you mentally. Now that you have a lil more information, you can choose options that best suit your needs. Look around and search out doctors willing to work with you before cutting you. I wish you well.

I had a partial hysterectomy in 2016 and that was the best decision ever. I had real bad fibroids and I looked like I was 6 months pregnant. Since I didn’t have heavy bleeding every day (only on the first day) and cramps my doctor didn’t want to do a hysterectomy. At that point I hadn’t had cramps in 10 yrs. At my next yearly appointment I had to lie and say I was having heavy bleeding and cramps just so I can get the surgery. I felt so uncomfortable every day, it was hard losing weight and I could feel the fibroids rubbing against each other when I bent over. My uterus was enlarged and I had fibroids the size of baseball and grape fruits. Two weeks after the surgery I lost 10lb. Before it took me 4 months to lose 10lbs. I believe my bladder is the only side effect I have experienced.

I had a partial hysterectomy and it was a life-saving decision that I was so thankful I made. The debilitating pain of the fibroids and heavy bleeding was killing me. I was severely anemic. It was the best decision for me. I walked out of the hospital with no wheelchair which is how good I felt. I did not have any difficulties afterwards. All I knew is that the pain was gone and I could do the things I use to do with the exercise, sports, living my life. I appreciate your experience, knowledge, sincere summary of your experience. I had a radical hysterectomy 5/2022 to remove an 18cm mass on my ovaries, non-cancerous. I told them to take everything out bc at age 57 I was already in menopause, way past creating lil people. I didn't want to keep going thru surgery, every year something else, so take it all out. But as you mentioned the pain down there, I also thought it was scar tissue. I've been exercising since six weeks after the surgery, low impact, and the pain down there is slowly easing up. Been to OB/GYN last Nov., no reason for the pain found by the doctor. Also I have to agree with you about the lubrication down there, you were spot on. Things are well. I feel much better, to sum it all up.

I have Adenomyosis & my OB is suggesting Hysterectomy in a few years. I’m glad I saw this so I can ask some questions at my next appointment. I use to have night sweats, I believe it’s hormonal and can be tied to your thyroid. You may want to check or have them to check your T3 & T4 levels. The thyroid, ovulation and uterus etc all go hand in hand. I have hypothyroidism along with my adenomyosis and basically these things affect your hormonal balance. Check your Vitamin D levels, once my endocrinologist told me I had a deficiency, I have been taken them and they help a lot with hormonal balance as well as pain. Yoga helps a lot. A lot of foods cause inflammation and Adenomyosis is basically the uterus on 10 from inflammation. Try Aloe Vera juice and using a lot of naturals herbs in your food that help to fight against inflammation. You may still be experiencing inflammation from the surgery. I love to snack too but snacks or processed foods and sugar and dairy cause inflammation. My OB also suggested no processed foods and I’m now considering becoming Vegan before attempting hysterectomy because I’m tired of the hormonal changes just from what I’ve consumed in the past.

I had already gone through menopause (at 50) but was having issues afterwards with fibroid tumors and post menopausal bleeding. My mother, who also had fibroid tumor issues after menopause, kept advising me against having the surgery. Having the surgery is one of the best decisions I ever made. I've not had any post surgery symptoms. Prayers for you as you continue to heal and deal with the post surgery symptoms.

My mom had a hysterectomy in the 70s. I didn't know it was so prevalent with Black women. If so many Black women are having hysterectomies, there has to be a more underlying issue. Reading all of these comments is depressing because I think of all of the surgeries that have happened to many of our women. I was offered the same surgery a couple of years ago and I was conflicted because I was in pain but I don't want to remove anything more from my body (I had my gallbladder removed....worst mistake). I was not going to have another child (I have one), but, I was so close to menopause than not, so, I said no. I had horrific, debilitating periods since my first one and I am now cramping everyday and other pains, but, I feel like it can be dealt with in a more natural way. Even after saying all of that, I respect everyone for doing what was right for them. From reading many responses, many women are happy with their decision and that is what matters. Peace and Blessings to all.

I have given thought to why so many blk women go through this; personally, I believe we are a targeted group and the easiest way to wipe us out or decrease our numbers is to attack our reproductive organs. If we are doing anything correctly, we should be educating young women of childbearing age to take better care of their bodies and be mindful of modified food.

I have had no regrets, I do not even feel what menopause is, no sweating , no aggravation. The thing is the kangaroo pouch. I change my diet and exercise a lot. Do all I thought I couldn't do when hemorrhaging then. I'm dancing in ministry and keeping a solid faith in God. Thank you for this video. I recently had a hysterectomy May 7th of this year, about 5 weeks ago. I have 3 kids, all 3 had to be delivered via c section. I was cut in the same incision from my c section. My hysterectomy was more painful. I did not have much pain in the incision, but near my belly button area (2 inches on left & right). Feels like a raw burning sensation from within. Not sure what that's about. I did not encounter this until after my bandages were removed after week 2. I've been back to the OB/GYN doctor 2x since the surgery about this pain. Praying this raw/burning pain subsides very soon. I go back for my 6week post off next week. You look amazing, beautiful. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope things get better for you ❤ Your story resonated with me. I didn’t have a hysterectomy, but I did have lap endometriosis excision surgery. Long story short, I was experiencing very painful and debilitating periods and symptoms outside of my cycle. I was fainting from the pain. After years of symptoms, many doctor and ER visits, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis. I did a lot of research and changed my lifestyle. I changed my diet to an anti-inflammatory diet, cut out processed foods, I limit dairy and sugar (I found these were my triggers). I also try to do a lot of gentle exercise like yoga and walking, reduce my stress, making sure I sleep enough, and pelvic floor therapy. I did decide to get the surgery because of how advanced my endo was. I had two large endometrioma cysts that were basically swallowing my ovaries and wanted to preserve my fertility. All of this has helped me tremendously. My periods are no longer debilitating and can actually function during my cycle. I feel so much better. I think it really possible to heal through diet and lifestyle changes, and I highly recommend trying this route with the guidance of your medical team of course!

I did a hysterectomy myself 5 years ago and I am having the same problem with overactive bladder and I hate it,plus am always hot even when it’s winter to the point where I have to close the vent in my room that the heat don’t come in or I turn the heat way down,BUT am happy I did the hysterectomy because I swear I was gonna bleed to death when my period came one of those months lol.i am sorry you are going through all that but I pray that one day it will heal its self.

New Sub here...glad I found your channel. I had a Hysterectomy in 2018 and remember asking my Doctor if it was true that most woman gain weight afterwards and she said no that's a huge myth. I was always on the smaller size about a size 2-4. I am now a 10, gaining 30 pounds after the surgery. I love the weight gain in other areas but not my mid section. I am a healthy eater so I couldn't understand where the weight was coming from. I don't regret having my hysterectomy because I am better health wise (Lots of fibroids & Endometriosis), but I wish I knew all of this beforehand. I am going to start back working out to "try" to get back to my pre-hyster weight. It is truly something to think about since most doctors wont tell you the absolute truth. I am determined but also will not beat myself up if I cannot achieve my weight goals. Thanks for this video. I hope it can help many, many others.

Pray you will be feeling better soon. Great video for everyone going through this. It's always go for us to support one another in times like this. Pray everyone going through this joins some type of support group. We can learn so much from each others experiences. We need to understand what all the possible side effects are. As for black women we must be very careful about having our ovaries taken out too soon because studies show we are at a higher risk of heart attack than other groups. Therefore, we need the hormones the ovaries produce to help protect us from heart attacks. Especially if heart attacks run in your family. Also knowing there is a chance of complications with laparoscopic surgery if you've had multiple abdominal surgeries. Prior surgeries can cause lots of scar tissue in that area. Which can be problematic when getting laparoscopic hysterectomy surgery. I had a bad experience with this myself even after the doctor to not do the laparoscopic surgery. He tried to tell me he could do it. Only to wake up after surgery with him frantically apologizing for not listening to me. Had to be on morphine for all the pain from being cut in two different ways. On top of that he took one of my ovaries after expressing I didn't want them removed. Sadly a lot of doctors have a hard time listening to patients even when you explain you've done some studying on the matter. Sorry for the long message. May you all find healing and peace.

Thank you for sharing your journey. Alot of women are faced with this decision when they have challenges with fibroids or the menstrual cycle. It is a major surgery and the OB/GYN doctors they only know the medical model. They aren't trained in holistic treatment or natural remedies unless they decide to get training on that. Diet, stress and the environment play a major role in our hormones. Sometimes making small changes can make a huge difference.

Hey, I’m a year and a half out from my hysterectomy. Please get a second opinion about the migraine sweats, urinary frequency and other symptoms!! Absolutely sounds to me like premature ovarian failure/ pre menopause symptoms that can unfortunately happen to people after a hysterectomy even though they kept their ovaries and aren’t at menopause age yet. There is a massive chance that you need to go on HRT to manage these symptoms. Vaginal estrogen cream, progesterone HRT pills etc could 100% fix these issues. Sorry you’re going through this!!

I hear you, feel you and know this all to well. I will be making a video my self soon. I most certainly am appreciative of having the hysto. But this occasional gastric pain I was left with takes me to heaven and back. Everyone will experience different things and glady it's only occasional like a few times out of the year depending on what I consume. Please try to explore more options than 3 before make a decision. Thank you for your story!!🙌🏾✨️

I had my hysterectomy last year in March. I kept my ovaries & had everything else taken out. I do experience some of the symptoms you’ve mentioned…rectal pain, overactive bladder & occasional mild pain that happens when I ovulate & my body still thinks I’m having a period…so I still experience very mild cramping. That’s about it. I’m glad I had it done because my periods were heavy & horrible & the cramping was even worse..I had to wear a pad & tampon together every time I came on. I appreciate u sharing your experience & your honesty. I did so much research before I had mine done. Thank you beautiful ❤

My mother had an emergency hysterectomy. She always said she still had her monthly pain. She also yo-yoed until she had it done. After she just stayed on the bigger size. Hers was done because she was not actually made to have children and I being her seventh pregnancy but fourth live birth was almost twins to her bladder. She told me to not do it unless it is necessary. I've spent years with extreme period pain and honestly I just deal with it because I prefer not to take the alternative. This is not a judgment for anyone who is thinking about having a done or has had it done. Just remember whatever decisions you make in your life try to make sure to stay as healthy and safe as possible. Sending love

"You can always find someone to cut on you for money". I was told by many doctors as a hospital nurse. Thank you for your testimony which by the way are very common downsides if hysterectomy and Im so sorry. Pelvic floor therapy can really help. Keep going.

Yes i am forever cramping. Endo & pcos. Putting castor oil on my skin where my uterus and ovaries are have helped A TON. It's the diastasis recti in the middle of your stomach/ 2 in above your belly button (do targeted pelvic tilts and talk to your pelvic pt if they can show you moves and check it (very easy to do) I would also suggest a parasitic specific cleansing, with a detox and binder

Thank you for this information. Ive been suffering from endometriosis for so many years. I've had to have polyps , and fibroids removed. My doctor's have mentioned hysterectomy but its something that I've feared doing because it has always sounded so scary.
