Ange has won in a salary cap league (A-league) Ange has won in a country with a massive language and cultural barrier (J-league) Ange has won with a national team. Ange has rebuilt a squad in one or two transfer windows. A team who was pumped by 30 points to the title the previous season and lost key pieces in the offseason, then went on to win a double in his first season, then proceeded to obliterate the competition in his second season. He's won as an underdog, he's won in adverse conditions, he's won with no resources and he's won as a front runner.
@@ketufothis is the euro snobbery he was talking about. Asian leagues are not without merit. Most leagues in Asia have far better competition and huge fan bases. Not many farmers leagues and no big Saudi backed teams. Ange is better than pep because pep only one with money Ange has one trading exclusively with monopoly dollars.
I think a disaster class is incoming obviously he is a good manager and I’ll give him that but he managed Celtic in a I’ll say it is a Scotsman a shite leauge where only rangers challenged them over the course of the two seasons even though saint mirren basically challenged them more
As a Celtic fan myself and many other fans had our doubts with him when he first came to us in Scotland but how he proved us wrong, it’ll be sad to see him go but I hope he’ll prove everyone wrong again at Spurs
Ange is an absolute Aussie legend. South Melbourne legend, Won the A-League with Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. Won the J-League with Yokohama F. Marino's their first title in 15 years. Wrestled back the Scottish league with a Celtic team that had their pants pulled down the previous season. And his crowning achievement, winning Australia's first and only Asian Cup in 2015. Spurs should be grateful at a minimum if he joins.
@@Reginald3000 when he was in Japan, I was hoping selfishly he's move to a European league and put himself in the window for the Premier League and come into a low-placed team in need of a rebuild. I mean, this feels terribly *wrong* to me, but I'm a lifelong Arsenal supporter. I'd've killed for Ange whilst getting along to North London derbies during the Emery years when I was still in London.
This sick to see. We (australians and media) disrespected this man on a whole new level when he was Socceroos coach. One of our best and glad to see him succeeding.
Also Spurs are not in any european competition next season so best they can do is domestic treble with PL, FA and EFL cups. But as an Arsenal fan I ofc hope their trophy cabinet stays as empty as it is.
@@shreyanganguly261 comparatively it surely is low standard. But we are growing, so hopefully one day 🤞 Its weird for me bro, i am a Mumbai City FC fan, but a diehard Chelsea fan as well 🤣so it was tough for me after the City group takeover. But City do deserve the win, after the season they have had. But can't count Inter out. They are literally a cup team. Just wishing an entertaining final, compared to UEL 🤦
As a NEUFC fans it pisses us off so much seeing our states having the most talent but playing shit and ending last. I wish we had a good hierarchy like y'all.
Without Kane definitely. But the players he'll buy will make Richarlison look like a superstar up top. Which is a damned shame as I'm an Aussie Gooner 😅
@@ketufo that’s what everyone in Scotland said before he rebuilt the squad and made Celtic an unstoppable force. Obviously will be harder to do in the premiere league but don’t write him off
@@ketufo How's this aging, sunshine? Don't give up your day job to become a football "expert". Typical arrogant remark from a poorly educated fool. Zero research, zero knowledge & zero common sense.
Postecoglou has a great attacking style of football, he done well at Celtic, wish he hadn't left but he is going to bring the "we never stop" mind-set to the English league and I wish him well, they guy has been all over the world with his management style.
Us A-League fans are so proud of him 🇦🇺 I know nobody hear knows about Roarcelona but to go on a 36 match unbeaten run in a salary capped league is mental
I think any coach, no matter how good, will have a monumental task on their hands For a successful spell, you need to change the club culture, find a way to score without Kane, find a replacement for Lloris and rejuvenate and motivate the squad Edit: and do all of that while the directors are somewhat incompetent lol
"I don't think a club's succes is just the squad. I think it's much more than the squad. Which is why Jurgen was able to not win anything at Liverpool for the first 3 years. Losing Europa league finals and still have the trust even at such a big club because he needed time to build Salah Mane Ferminho. Keita. Robertson to his vision. The trust went from the board to the manager to the players to the fans " Mourinho's last statement before being sacked by manchester united
LGBT loving Kane was way too distracted at the World Cup with his alphabet obsession. Cost England big time as the unfocussed captain of his nation. He is trouble and hopefully Ange doesn't have to deal with him/her.
As an AEK Athens fan i cant wait to see what Postecoglou can do in the premier league. I also had forgot the story of him being really close to joining my club. We instead decided to appoint a guy called Vladan Milojevic, who coudnt get past a team called Velez Mostar. Thank god we now have a manager with the exact same football characteristics as Ange ( Matias Almeyda ) who won us the domestic double as well in our new stadium. I would really want to see him coach us, but in the end it all worked out pretty well for him
Irish Guy was the only one to predict our implosion. But he also predicted Brighton to get relegated. I really don't know what to make of this prediction
This appointment is an admission winning something isn't your priority anymore, and that's a good thing imo. The Mourinho & Conte experiments were worth doing, but they didn't work so their should be an acknowledgement that Spurs aren't ready for those 'win at all costs/potential dynasty' coaches yet. As a rival fan (Chelsea), this appointment feels like Spurs & I don't mean that in a patronizing way. He's got a stubbornness about him, like Sarri, when it comes to a certain quality of football he wants to see & that's what Spurs' roots are, entertaining football first. That clashed with our culture, it won't with yours because it is your culture.
We most likely won't. Our team has been moulded to play Conte/Mourinho-ball for the past few years. It will take awhile to implement his ideas, and more importantly, get the players he needs.
I think the Spurs fans will be in for a treat because Ange has always played an attractive style of uncompromised attacking fast paced football, that produces RESULTS. His Brisbane Roar team were nicknamed 'Roarcelona' due to how similarly they played like Pep's Barcelona in 2010-12. He set the longest unbeaten run in Australian football history of 36 unbeaten. That team also became the first to win back to back titles in A-League history. When he took charge of the Aus national team, he had virtually no time to prepare for the 2014 World Cup and was drawn in a group of death of Chile, Netherlands and Spain. Despite conceding 3 in every game, we were competitive in every match as you may remember us narrowly losing 3-2 to the Dutch. Ange's triumph was winning the Asian Cup in 2015, the greatest achievement in Socceroos history. After that tournament, Ange got qualified us for the 2018 world cup with a (what we fans would called crazy at the time) 3-5-2 formation which was basically 7 attackers and 3 centre-backs. Ultimately I think Ange didn't really have the quality of players in our national team pool to play like that, but the fact that he got us to the world cup really is a miracle. Ange quit the national team job two weeks after qualifying, citing he did not feel that the board had faith in him and neither he in them to produce a functional footballing structure in this country. A man of principles. If it's not done his way, he won't do it. Should come in handy when negotiating with Mr Levy. Next move was to Japan, where he won the J-League with Yokohama F Marinos. The clubs first title in 15 years, and Ange did it in style and FAST. He had one season of transfers to transform this club into a team that Pep Guardiola personally loved as the Irish Guy mentioned that they dominated Man City in terms of possession in a preseason friendly. Ange and Pep had a very nice dialogue after the game and to my knowledge, Pep admired Ange very highly. Celtic is a similar story. A team down in the dumps. Ange has to turn them around quickly and he produces a double the next season and then a treble the next. Talk to any Celtic fan and they will tell you how much they love this man. Ange is not just a decent manager, he is also a great man. He actively makes an effort to talk directly to fans. He wins for them, not due to them. He will build a much more positive culture around Tottenham Hotspur, where the football is good, the people are good, the fans are happy, the team is competitive and will 'dare to do' as spurs people say. It all just crucially depend on whether Daniel Levy will enable Postecoglou to do so
As a Spurs fan I was dissapointed seeing us go from Nagelsmann and Poch to Ange, but I have good hope that we are finally doing something else and working on a project again
So was I but given our position right now and the season we just had I think it's the right move. I don' t think goin gfor a big name manager was reall ygoing to be an option after what happened with Mourinho and Conte We can't afford to think big like winning the Prem or Champions League atm until after we sort our club out. I think we can do it as we do have the resources it's just going to take time and effor tfrom everybody. I think we jus tneed a good season nex t year where we look competitive and maybe have a real go at one of the domestic cups or something. We won' thave the headache of European football so we can focus all our attention on domestic honours. Granted i tdoes mean we likely will lose Kane and Son but at this point I think it's something we'll jus thave to accept in order to move on.
I'm a rangers fan, Ange is a class manager who will do very well at spurs More than happy to see the back of him and lets hope celtic dont pull another masterstroke appointment
@@spudders9034 You got it right this time. I always enjoy going back to these. Poor Ange has been copping this crap for 27 years despite winning everywhere he goes!
2 MoTMs, best start for a first time coach in the EPL. Yep, knock him at your own peril. He has been performing, successfully, for 27 years & has copped this crop everywhere he has gone.
Hey irish guy interesting thing here you know how you mentioned melbourne city coach and how he could be fast tracked into good jobs well the current coach just got hired cus melbourne city coach went to Troyes in french league 1
Never in my life I would dare dream to hear the name Gippsland Falcons (now known as Falcons 2000) on this channel. A club that I used to play against many years ago in the LVSL
Bringing the daily mourinho news to the Irish guy After the lost penalty shootout in the final of the Europa league mourinho got all of the players together in the middle of the pitch and gave them a long speech which was translated by television lip readers and this is what he said "Don't fall on the pitch crying. We don't do that here. I told you before the game we either win or we die and we are dead. You gave everything and you have no reason to cry. The pundits that were not good enough to be successful in sports They will talk about us a lot tonight. You just ignore them they will say many things. Same with the keyboard Einsteins . They will talk and say Many mean things. About you. Me. But you just ignore them because you will all win other trophies in your career while they will still be keyboard Einsteins in 10 years I've got 26 trophies and I will still win many others. Do you know where these people will be at that point? They still will be failed athletes turned pundits. My wife is in the stands. She hates football. Always had but she came to support me like she does in every finals. My daughter is there too she left her jewerely business in London to support me like my son did. They did it for every final in the past 20 years and tonight you will go home to wives and kids that will be here for you so to hell with strangers opinions. I'm having many offers right now. Psg have been begging since I left tottenham I could win 3 trophies in a season easily but I refuse I want to stay for you. I'm not going anywhere FOR YOU . I want to fight for you. And I want to win with you. So we don't f***ing cry. We go back to Rome our head high " Source for the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0vPD-uKe9dE.html
Aussie here - Given Ange’s style of man-management and the fact that another Aussie, Scott Munn, is taking up the Chief Football Officer role at Spurs, im more optimistic than pessimistic.
Some very good points. The ignorance extends to Africa as well. But it might be down to risk aversion which is why there is a rotation of the same coaches in the Premier League and Championship despite declining results.
Ange really isn't an unknown entity in our part of the world though. Sure he got the Brisbane Roar ob because the previous coach got caught drink driving but still. within 18 months of that appointment he turned that club into what we call Roarcelona still to this day winning the A-League double and doing it back to back which at the time was unheard of. Then goes onto conquer Asia with the Socceroos, Conquer Japan, now conquered Scotland. Then here's where I agree with the title of this video of this being a disaster but not based on the coach, this is based on the club. Spurs are a curse, they are allergic to trophies, their owner is one of the worse going atm and won't back any coach, If Conte and Jose couldn't win anything at that club then what chance does any other manager in the whole world have???
I think this is what Tottenham needs. Maybe their just not good enough for managers like Conte and Mourinho. Maybe they need a small coach to come and build them up.
As an Aussie this will be great to see Postecoglou at a top 6 side. I fear that beause he's at Spurs he'll become a laughing stock because the club are a shambles. Do all us Aussie's proud Ange.
From a Celtic perspective, who ever we get instead of Ange, it will definitely be a downfall. No one who's coming after him will live up to his abilities.
As an Australian Spurs fan, I'm very excited to see what he does, squad needs a refresh and I honestly think expectations need to be dropped by the club and it's supporters. The way I see it, out of the big 6, or 7 now with Newcastle, Spurs are the lowest on that totem pole. We honestly shouldn't expect Champions League football, we should celebrate it. I think a squad clear out and a new focus on providing quality football is what Spurs need, after 3 consecutive defensive minded coaches. I think Ange has a genuine chance at changing the image of the club, similar to how Poch did. Either way, it's awesome as an Australian football fan to see fellow Aussies succeed, and at my club too! Also, I like the new font, enjoy your day Irish Guy
Correction: the last coach to ever grace the premier league before Roy Hodgson and had coached in the world was Luis Scolari. He managed chelsea in the 2008-2009 season before he got the sack.
If you look before he went Celtic he won titles in Australia and Japan 👍and let’s face it Tottenham can’t do worse then last year so if he does well then it’s a master stroke if they don’t finish in European places he has done as good as the conte/Mason experiment
@theirishguy 08:59 Do you think coaches like Juan ferrando and sergio lobera who coach teams in india will ever coach a big team in Europe and win champions league?
Celtic are bigger than Chelsea Beale is also not as good of manager as you’re making out. The gap got bigger after his appointment until the title was won, he also got knocked out both cups
You forgot Big Phill Scolari, World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002 and 4th place with Portugal 2006 (he was also the manager coaching Portugal that lost that euro to Greece in 2004), managed Chelsea in 08/09.
At some point a manager has to make a step up to a big club! Celtic have it easy but they're a big club and he has won stuff, and spurs aren't as big as the other "big six" clubs, they're the perfect Stepping stone for the really big clubs imo
I'd give him a chance, high profile winning managers couldn't pull that garbage club out of the gutter, so why not try an experienced one that just hasn't gotten big chances yet?
Ange was in charge when Australia won it's only piece of major international silverware. The Asian cup in 2015. They beat South Korea 2-1. SK had Son Heung-min in the squad then, who is obviously at Tottenham now. Should make for an interesting dynamic. I am going to watch next season with great interest. Ange has a history of revamping squads quite vicously. Could Kane be shown the door? Heung-Min? Ange is used to doing a lot with not much cash. The massive budget of a PL club will be a new experience for him. Tottenham gave him a 4 year contract. I hope they give him the 4 years as I think year 1 might be a bit of a 'development' year as Ange learns about the league and the team learns about him.
Before he was hired at Brisbane, the team was terrible. When he left, they were the most dominant team in Australian History with back to back titles and a 36 match unbeaten run. The man can coach.
He is absolutely right It makes no sense that former players are deemed more suitable for managment than managers from "lower" leagues Complete gems of players can come from those leagues, why not managers? Coincidentally, I am going to watch a Yokohama F Marinos match here in Yokohama this weekend
Calling him a playing non-entity and a rubbish football player is harsh. South Melbourne, when Postecoglou played for them, were not only in the National Soccer League, the top tier of football in Australia before the A League, he also won the league with them and was a pivotal player in their side. He also represented the national side. So, not rubbish at all.
Small correction: it's Papua* New Guinea. I worry for Ange as an Aussie. On the one hand, I want him to succeed, even if I go for Liverpool. On the other, I fear Spurs will ruin him.
@@petepierre6458 I’m stumped here mate? I’m a Celtic fan and I’ve been following Spurs since Big Ange took over. Put it this way I’m not surprised with you guys sitting TOP! You all know now doing the research Ange is a winner and what he done got his move to Celtic and what he done for us got him to Spurs cos the way I see it … Ange is finally getting to the pinnacle of his career with “AngeBall” to now he has the money to get the players HE wants. He never buys “Marquee” signings so to speak and yeah I’m a way he is but you can’t really say that Maddison was the “Marquee” signing being technically a “Championship player “ etc… Everything is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for you guys. Ange was coming in to a TOP6 club with NO EUROPEAN FOOTBALL to deal with just the FULL preseason to get everyone all in with AngeBall then the season begins with A FULL week to prepare for the next game 👌🏽 I think it’s clear now after the Carabao Cup defeat Ange gave a chance on the other guys in his squad for a cup run knowing fine well that come the next round of cup games his squad depth isn’t enough to cope with and the full week to keep the squad training and preparing for the next league game is what it’s all about 💙💚
@@Muzza2023 I have always followed Spurs & also, since he beat my side in an A League final with unbelievable non stop attacking football, even when 2-0 down have closely followed him & his teams. Well done the past few years as well! Top 6 you think? They finished well below that last season & they were a mess, not quite like Celtic but they were a basket case. Same as Brisbane roar, same as Yokohama. I have no doubt he will chase everything next season but his initial focus was getting a PL team competitive & that's what he's done. You think coming into the PL from Scotland, being an Aussie who has only had previous coaching experience in Australia & Japan was a smooth ride in? You should read up on the comments form 4 or 5 months ago when he was appointed. Not as harsh as you guys but very cutting. He has always been a winner, both on & off the field, a top coach & manager & an even better human being. Cheers.
