They're so good. We used to call them Poor Man Tacos. Living in East Los Angeles. When there wasn't money and especially in a big family, this is what my mom would make for dinner. This, and beans and rice. Beans and rice.For days and days. Sometimes my mom would mix it up a bit then we'd have rice and beans. But the tacos de papa is what I make when I remember my mom. Lol "i was raised on beans and rice" spm song... But there isnt nothing wrong with that i love beans and rice with potatoes "iv made potatoes any way u could possibly make em" another spm song. Lol
How I make em is I make the mash potatoes and only put salt in it then I put it on the warm tortilla and add mozzoria cheese on in and fry them and they are all good with sourcream,salsa and lettuce 😍👌🏼
My mother in law taught me how to make them during thanksgiving, but i couldn't remember if she had us use butter or not. I think I'll make these tonight. Thank you for uploading!
You can add cheese (Pepper Jack) to the potato filling to elevate the richness and add extra flavor!!!I love them with Sour Cream and Green salsa, Good job looks DELICIOUS 😋👍.
Ese platillo acá en México les decimos quesadillas de papá se sirve con lechuga salsa y queso rallado. Los tacos son con tortillas suaves, hay mucha variedad en quesadillas, y mucha variedad en tacos, saludos
So i made tortillas by myself ..my question is ... should i precook them, fill them with the potato and then fry them again ...or can put the potato in my fresh rolled tortilla and just fry them once ?
I made this today and mine didn't turn out great at all. The potatoes were falling out and my tortillas were crunchy but not like a taco, the texture was more of stale chips. What can I do to improve?
CharmaineJFlores Make sure your potatoes aren’t so watery. Also fry your tortillas longer. If your potatoes were not watery then make sure you don’t fill your tacos up so much lol
Papas tacos omg, I swear I'm pregnant because my desire fir these has become ravenous and here is perhaps the stupid yet critical question...these are corn not flour tortillas right?!
