Me too man. I’ve already done some more mods to it since the filming of the video and each mod makes a huge improvement to the car. Definitely looking forward to some more power. Thanks for watching stay tuned for the process!
Youll be pushing the turbo very hard to get over 320bhp from it. Above 300 ish you might need a turbosmart or forge actuator fitted depending on the condition of your original one. Better off buying a hybrid ST or just an RS turbo and going for a genuine 350-380bhp from that setup. Youd need the block mod done before pushing above 300bhp, especially if youre planning on doing track days. Do all the supporting bolt on mods first - full 3" exhaust, stage 1 or 2 intercooler (dont buy one with big boost pipes as neither the standard or hybrid ST turbos cant flow enough for those) plenum, open cone or enclosed filter, silicone cold side pipe, RS clutch and a differential. "RS" spec oil coolers you can buy dirt cheap if you get the part number for them; dont buy ford boxed ones, theyre made by BEHR and can be found cheap, brand new. And an uprated all metal radiator would help too, with a thicker core. If youre gonna do a lot of track days then fit an oil cooler, forget a catch can because the oil filter housing is more than capable once you have the -5/last revision unit fitted.
Hey mate. Thanks a lot for your comment I really appreciate that. One of the first things I did when I bought the focus was do the block mod (video on my channel) as I always planned to go for bigger power. I’ve also done an Rs oil cooler and a few of the other supporting mods you mentioned in your comment which will come in future videos. The long term plan will definitely be to go hybrid in order to reliably push the power levels in hoping for. But for now I’ve been focusing a bit on preventive maintenance and handling mods to get it ready for its next track day. Thanks for the comment, stay tuned for more updates!
Yep that’s one of the things I suspect. Especially with my rear tyres not being the best after my track day. I’m hoping it is just tyres as I need new ones anyway. Just saving for some semi slicks atm :) Thanks for watching
It’s called a uniden DFR3NZ, it came with the car when I bought it although I wouldn’t recommend it. It has beeped when I’ve passed police, but also hasn’t so it’s not reliable. And it just beeps at every all the time so it’s unplugged most of the time. I have friends with more expensive uniden models that are a lot better.
Ahaha yeah it definitely has that reputation of a chavs car/ Asbo, especially in orange 🤣But here in nz there very uncommon so no one really knows what it is.
