WOW!!As a Salvationist ...I feel this piece must have been inspired by our sunday morning worship .. a lot of the time it would end with the theme hymn that is running throughout this piece...... a benediction prayer... Ye sinners lost of Adam's race, Partakers of the fall, Come and be saved by Jesus' grace, And crown him Lord of all!
Amen amen amen
Geoffrey Lomas No, I don't! just playing in a corps band and involved in God's music but following New York Staff Band which is one of oldest SA bands.
Rémi Fred As a former bandsman, it amazes me the level of musicianship it takes to play the compositions by PLC, Graham, and some other Salvationist composers.
k0smon You are right dear brother in Christ, really amazing the level required today by P. Lovatt-Cooper and P. Graham, when you perform scores as "Vitae Aeternum" of PLC or "Shine as the Light" and other composers just as you say, finding out hability requirements and the technical level, so impressive. I always just remind the same from E. Ball, E. Leidzen, D. Goffin, Bramwell Call and other formers composers. Nowadays, God's worship seems based more on high musical level. God bless.
I’m not even gonna front, the bass trombone’s edginess killed every single moment of this piece. Not a bad player but an absolutely atrocious musician. He was sticking out the entire piece and as an ensemble that is the worst thing you can possibly want. Other than that everything was played beautifully.
tbh it's not the players fault but the conductors. He is responsible for the balance... I actually didn't mind to much, but it's what happens when you position the trombones in the middle instead of the side...
