Outstanding! Dude, I spent a week looking for a breakdown like this on countless videos and websites. I have migrated from an MS Access background, and you have essentially related the understanding of Power Apps to the MS Access relational model like no one else. Thank you!

3 months after watching this, I am still amazed on your work, Daniel! I am re-watching it now because I do need your help here. I want to put up a drop-down option on the AppScreen. I have 2 SharePoint list for the brands - let's say your brand sample is in List1 and I will add another set of brands in List2. Both this list will appear on the drop down menu. If I choose List1, it will show all brands from the list and if List2 show all brands from the list. I thought about creating a completely new screen for each list but I am hoping there is an easier solution instead of creating another screen. Thanks, Daniel! Stay safe!

Thank you Daniel for sharing your knowledge, I use for the Foreign Key columns in the SharePoint List a LookUp Column for reinforce the referencial integrity. According to the previous video you use a column of type Number, Which option will be the best practice?, Thank you.

I made it using PowerPoint. The trick is using a transparent background and saving the file as a png.

It is starting to make sense to me how to use the variables and collections to make relationships. I'm working on a house flipping app that handles the full project from start to finish. Mind is melting. Haha. Do you do any consulting? 😊

Great video for sharing the full benefits and construction of proper data relationship usage. I am doing something similar for employees when I happened across this. One question- if you wanted to extract the actual data values (eg: csv output of all open requests withe actual products), is it possible to do that easily with Power Automate based on the relationships?
@DanielChristian19
@DanielChristian19 2 года назад
Glad it was helpful! Are you extract values from the lists? Try using Power BI. Maintaining the SharePoint relationships when it comes to Power Automate takes a few additional actions.
@scfo
@scfo 3 года назад
Wow, this is incredible. In which video do you discuss how to autogenerate the ID’s. Do you need to use a Power Automate Expression when a new item is created for that or is there a setting in sharepoint lists that generates the ID’s automatically?
@DanielChristian19
@DanielChristian19 3 года назад
Hi Smart CFO, SharePoint lists auto generate IDs for you. Hence I only focused on gathering those for your secondary lists.

Hi Daniel, I'm trying to achieve something similar - I have 3 SP lists that have common fields to join them e.g. ID field. I want to be able to search on the data and edit certain fields. Is it possible to create these sorts or joins/relationships when using edit forms?
@DanielChristian19
@DanielChristian19 3 года назад
Hi Chris, Edit forms makes it easier to work with when it comes to SP lists with look-up and metadata columns. The search should work as well. Keep a close eye on delegation issues.
@richardclowes6166

Hi Daniel - I'm trying to do something similar where I have multiple SP lists with the necessary ID fields from each table in the respective tables (as you'd build a relationship database. Here's the question... in a "child" table I have a dropdown in Power Apps that is meant to display all the values for aircraft in a parent table . In my SP List I am not using Lookup columns as I want to try and do it your way. So when I edit my list item (with a customized Power App form) I want to display the value of the appropriate aircraft in the dropdown list. It should determine the value from the aircraftId column in the "child" table and do a match on that to the parent.id value and display the parent.displayName value in the dropdown. In your latest videos where do you have an example of that where the dropdown value is being defaulted based on the value in another variable. I hope that makes sense...I realize this is easy stuff for you.

Hi Richard, Your request is very similar to what I demonstrated in this video. It's the part where I build the devices gallery which is filtered based on the MFR list. Take a look.

Hi Daniel, for the list relationship did you type all the information manually? or you did a lookup on sharepoint list?
@DanielChristian19
@DanielChristian19 2 года назад
Hi Jeff, It was a combination of the two. This was a real-world scenario where some of these lists pre-existed and hence for the existing list items I had to add the relationship ID numbers manually. Once I got it all configured in Power Apps, the columns were getting updated automatically. Watch the last video to get a better understanding of this.

Any video that overcome the power App limit 500rows of lists/Excel. I have table/lists with more than 500rows
@DanielChristian19
@DanielChristian19 3 года назад
Hey Labahlabahoren, Excel is not a delegable source hence the best you can do is increase the limit from 500 to 2000 in advanced settings. Here is the link to understand delegation in canvas apps. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/delegation-overview

There is no copytoclipboard in PowerApp, any alternative solution ?

CTRL+C & CTRL +V works for me. I can even copy controls across apps as long as they are in the same browser.
@Skk1976
@Skk1976 3 года назад
@@DanielChristian19 my requirement is to provide a copy-paste facility in the app, on click of button & dont want to use the default copy-paste option. Assume there are 10 text boxes & would like to copy the content of all text boxes to clip board. Is that possible ?
