I was expecting the coins to be plastic like the morpher, but knowing they are metal and of similar weight to the Legacy version makes this go higher on my radar to potentially buy. And I'm not much of a toy collector, so that's saying something.
I still prefer the 1993 Morpher and Legacy Morphers as I personally see many inaccuracies with this compared to Bandai’s morphers: * The Lightning collection morpher is too bulky compared to the 1993 morpher and Legacy Morpher which were both used on screen in MMPR and Jason using the Legacy Morpher in Power Rangers Beast Morphers. * There are big gaps between the coin and morpher which wasn’t in the MMPR series’ morpher. * The inside of the morpher is clear plastic as it was red in the TV show and Bandai’s morphers despite the ranger’s colors. * The power ranger logo around the morpher is too thin compared to Bandai’s 1993 and Legacy versions used in the show. The only inaccuracy with Bandai’s 1993 release was that the logo around the morpher said “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” but it was fixable as I and many others bought screen accurate logo stickers that said “Power Rangers” to replace it with making it completely screen accurate. Hasbro’s inaccuracies are permanent. And personally, I’d rather have the morpher making dinosaur sound effects as they did in the original MMPR movie when they first morphed. The Lightning version seems to be more of a kid’s toy rather than a collectible for those 18+ as Hasbro seems to focus more on the electronic features that many purchasers have had problems with rather than the prop’s screen accuracy and quality material.
First of all, i'm really happy for you that you finally got this for display and eventual playability. I have to admit, it does look great and having the coins unlock different lights and sounds is a nice touch. However...the front of the morpher (mostly the ring and bolts) just aren't doing it for me, and it's a tiny bit annoying that you only hear the sound of the helmet forming áfter you close the morpher up. Also the sound it makes when you flip it open with no coins (like at 9:54), kinda sounds like the electronics on this thing are worn out. I think the coins with the helmets on the back are the things that i like most on this version, and everything else really isn't that interesting, but that's my opinion.
I dig that noise when a coin is not in! It's "true to form"...if there is no coin then there SHOULD be a "miscue/power hemorrhage" between the grid and morpher...🤷🏾♂️
I like that morpher I also like the voice epically trini voice... R.I.P by the way I think I'm going to ask for it ethier for Christmas or birthday don't know yet
I got the morpher weeks ago it won’t read the coins right I have to really press it in. What i don’t like both dragon dagger and morpher don’t have on/off switches.
Dude btw there is a secret sound if you hold the plate closed and hold the button there is a sound that plays I don’t want to spoil the surprise for you
Well since this is only a Walmart exclusive, I dont think I will be able to get one for myself as we dont have Walmart back here in India (Yes I’m an Indian 😅). Any way you think this will be launched globally for other countries as well? Or if possible, could you ship one for me, please? (I shall pay of course) Anyways I subbed! Your videos are super informative!
The morpher and the coins plus the stand look really nice and I saw it at Wal-Mart but I was broke plus no job anyway I wonder if hasbro will release a green/white version for Tommy?
You don't have to open the morphing grid to changed coins! Way better feel to put a coin in and see the connection to the "morphing grid" shine through the cracks before you hit it! The closing noise is the "zoom on the helmet, morph complete" sound!
I got mine for Christmas after getting screwed out of it when I pre ordered it and it a ok morpher. I love having all five coins and having the stand and it goes well with my tommy morpher and yeah they have coin led light for each ranger and they say they call names. I love how they have they helmets on the back of each coin.
I only ever got the lightning one which is this one I like better that the legacy because Lightning one has more of a morphing sound. Plus you could Cosplay with it it’s not that heavy and it doesn’t have that bad sword clashing sound you got with the legacy one the legacy one was also way too fancy
I still prefer my 1993 Morpher and diecast silver and gold Legacy Morphers as I personally see many inaccuracies with this compared to Bandai’s morphers: * The Lightning collection morpher is too bulky compared to the 1993 morpher and Legacy Morpher which were both used on screen in MMPR and Jason using the Legacy Morpher in Power Rangers Beast Morphers. Hasbro’s inaccuracies are permanent and I’d personally rather be the one to say the dinosaur’s name when I morph. The Lightning version seems to be more of a kid’s toy rather than a collectible for those 18+ as Hasbro seems to focus more on the electronic features that many purchasers have had problems with rather than the prop’s screen accuracy and quality material.
I know Legacy came out with a Green/White Ranger but I wish Lightning Collection would… same with their version of the communicators .I really want to see another MMPR green ranger morphed and coin.
The big difference between Bandai’s legacy edition and the lightning collection is what they are meant to be the legacy collection are more of a display item then to actually be played with except for the legacy wrist communicator that I really wanted but not really able to afford at the time cause we didn’t really get one back in the 90’’s except for a watch done up to look like one and one very cheep looking one with a holographic center I’m hoping hasbro does a communicator so I could get one but if afraid if they do one they will have issues like with the rest of the line
There is a hidden Alpha 5 sound font, hold down the sound button while keeping the morpher closed! Walmart has clearanced them for 50% off, if it wasn't worth it before it is now.
Geek Level Asian, I just got mine today its cool and everything but not too crazy bout the holster of the morpher, its way too big to put on the belt for cosplay. What do u recommend? Getting my mmpr suit soon from Halu.
@@GeekLevelAsian thnx, I just opened it too. Thinking bout reselling it, just wanted it for cosplay. I didn't know Wildranger5 or Spaceranger made the buckles too, thought they only made just belts and blade blaster holsters. Just in video or pics it didn't seem that big, o well lol. But thnx!
Great review! But the lense is clear. The green your seeing is the motherboard or whatever. It wouldn't make much sense to have different colors behind a green lense. Also, the the lense has the lightning effects like what is shown when they morph.
You have to insert the coins while the Morpher is open. I tried putting the coins in while the Morpher is in a closed position and it won’t read the coin correctly. 👍🏼
Yikes. I have to respectfully disagree. If you want a toy/prop to play with and wear. The original 90s toy is the way to go. It’s a classic. If you want a toy/prop to display/ showcase the Legacy morpher is built for that. It looks like a million bucks. The hasbro morpher is a totally letdown. Its too big, the coins look cheap and the tabs sticking out ruins the seamlessness. The proportions are way off too, looking how large the toy is then how thin the stickers are around the coin.. why?! oof. The stand is... not great... wish they did a mate finish, not shinny plastic. I’d rather make a custom morpher stand for my Legacy than that heap of plastic hasbro put out.. just my opinion.
Oh I love the stand. I agree it's way too big lol. But when it comes to actually playing with it, I find it superior. Maybe it's because I've had all of the other morphers for so long I'm just bored with them. My 90's will always by my absolute favorite. But I have to say, I like this Hasbro one better than the Legacy. The weight just bugs me.
I look at Hasbros attempts at toys as just that. Labeling the box 18+ is just silly. Legacy morpher is 14+. For a true "18+" acceptable rating I would hope for a Hot Toys level reproduction. The fact they upscaled the physical morpher but not the coins creates a slight gap and thinning of the bolts/red ring. As for sounds, I think dino sounds would have been 1000x better than hearing alternating cast tell me their call. 🤦 In the end I feel like the company feels like they have to "out do themselves" with lights because kids don't have the attention span to play with a toy with a bunch of lights. 🙄
Yeah after the video I realized that it clicked in. That thing ain't movin haha. What dispointed me, was even after I pushed it all the way to click in, the morpher is still pretty shaky on it.
@Rudr0 possibly but this is the mmpr one not the mmpr movie one so makes sense original 5 if it’s zack and Jason then it’s definitely trini if it’s Adam and rocky it be Aisha
It is actually. The voice lines used for this version of the Lightning Collection morpher were taken from MMPR's season 1 morph sequence. The Master Morpher on Hasbro Pulse has unique lines JDF recorded specifically for the release of the Master Morpher.
Too bad people are getting insane with the prices already. Not sure how much these were in store but on Amazon some one is selling this for $300+😂 also seen the White Ranger Saba blade for $800 smh are they really worth this much or is just the seller being a dick? Lol
Nah, don't think every. I think every one of them has pros and cons. But I think this morpher has some of the best lights, sounds, and features. Doesn't "look" the best.
