Sorry about your stay in Louisville , for a number of reasons. You were in my neck of the woods. I think this was the first time Power Tour was here, and it looks like there's quite a few kinks to work yet. You might want to check out the Street Car Nationals in August, bigger venue, and they've been doing it for years now. Also it's within relative spitting distance to Terre Haute. the Louisville Metro is a great place , don't think badly of us. Come back soon.

Didn't you modify the transmission that was built specifically for your car and given to you, with a torque converter shut off/Overdrive. It could be why the solenoid switch failed. It might not have been designed for that..

the last U-haul I rented had a V-10 in it, it pulled like crazy and still got 12 mpg. These "performance" companies get free advertisement from you tubers and charge triple what they should for their products. They build a few good ones for advertising and then build garbage after that. Back in the day you could get a good TH350 from B&M that would have an awesome warranty and beat the crap out of it for years and it would not break. Not the same today. Your trans was broken out of the box and continued to break!

Sorry you and Mike had to deal with this. Transmissions are weird things when they malfunction. We used to have an old British Spec Ford Escort and you could drive it for hours without issue. Only when you stopped to park the transmission would always boil over with fluid. That was one phantom issue we could ever figure out. When driving it shifted smooth but stopping was an issue for it.

I liked the days of finding cheap cars, doing modest fixes and sending them down the road. The feel has definitely changed. At least then I felt like I could do some of the same things. Spending 30-40K on a project is not something in store for me. I guess I can spectate and just watch for the simple fact it deals with motors.

@15:30 the Chrysler 6 barrel system works on the center 2 barrel until you floor it then all open up for a huge kick.... They are not hard or problematic to use as a daily ride,they do not all need to work in sync..very easy system,I put 80,000 miles on mine as a daily driver in 1987-1992 carbs never out of tune or sync.Chrysler dealers even sold those 6 barrel intakes for 383 engines and were pretty popular.. True,linkage needs to be adjusted so all 6bbl kick in at once but like a single 2 or 4bbl I bought a lot of cars where they were not adjusted and they didnt fully open up when floored anyways,sucks about the Monte Carlo keep up the videos..

I really feel for you man. I was really close to purchasing a trans from Monster myself. The poor reviews on the company definitely pushed me in another direction. The Monte is really a great looking car. I hope you wind up holding on to it. Don't let Monster deter you from holding on to an awesome classic car. It sounds fucking awesome.

If it were me I’d put the original powertrain back into the Monte Carlo save the engine and transmission for another project and just sell the monte all bone stock and be done with it lol I’m sorry that happened and it really sucks to put all that time and money into that car but you would get some of it back tho😂

Just leave the car at the trans shop fly home then fly back when you can. The shop will take care of your car just go home do what you need to do and fly back to your house in TH Indiana get the car drive home would be a good video.

Is the torque converter bad or were the bolts loose? Sounded like the converter bolts came loose.
