Have to admit that the PW is about the most capable off road Pick up truck. Don't know how reliable it is in the long run but I think it does hold the most off road capable title.

I own a 2005 with over 300000 miles and no major breakdowns. When doing a rear diff fluid change you can see the gear drive differential similar to what is called a Truetrac (luckily not like Gleason Torsen which was proven years ago to be an inherently weak design)(and of course all the electric selectable full locker hardware). Next time I pull the front cover off I'll have to look closer. Don't know right now.

@@thecount1001 Just fuel capacity. 31 gal tank is just a tad too small. Thats barely getting me from Los Angeles to Las Vegas if I want to do some wheeling in Nevada. A 38-42 gal tank would be ideal.

So with upgraded tires is my 2021 tradesmen snow chief package similar to this truck with it’s sway bar connected and it’s differentials not locked?

The power wagon has lsd in the rear for sure not certain about the front. What I learned with my power wagon is 4hi unlocked was way better for deep snow than 4 low locked was. 4 low is rpm limited when you try to hammer down through snow.

I would agree with that statement after owning and snow driving in my 15 AEV prospector power wagon with 37's. Sometimes you need torque and sometimes you need power. The truck is computer controled. Anti spin rear end with an 11.5" ring gear with a full floating axles front and rear. Im not sure about the front diff anti spin. The front ring gear is a 9.5" size of 1/2 tons in the front. I know its an American axle company. The truck uses its brake system ABS to combat anti spin. I can drive my truck down muddy/snowy mountain slopes in hill decent. All i do is steer it. It doesn't let any wheel slip. It controls each wheel. I could not physically do it with the brake pedal. The computer does it for me.

I have an older 2500 Laramie with 3.73 and LSD without lockers. I never get stuck. It looks like my 2500 sits higher too on my B8 5100 Bilsteins. 4L is a beast in my truck and it just claws through everything. I wonder what the major differences are with the PW and my 2500. Do you know?

Did I miss something? There was no difference when comparing locked and unlocked. What type of rear gear does the PW have? LSD? Open? I have a 3.73 rear LSD in my Ram 2500 without lockers and do just fine. If you try to get stuck, you can get stuck.

The PW comes with LSD on the rear and diff lock for front and rear

@@IF9 When I'm in 4L it seems that an electronic locker is engaged, so why would someone need a locker when not in 4L? I don't plan on ever going to a desert to go fast and jump sand dunes, I go slow and sling a little bit of mud. I've owned another older Ram with 410s so I know about being locked and posi traction.

@@jordangraf673 offloading. I used to have a bush truck, specifically a ranger I bought for $500. And it easily got through everything that my buddies lifted trucks would get stuck in. Was always funny to me, how I could beat $60k and up trucks with mods.

@@Yaboidavey a power wagon isn’t just a lifted truck. It has front and rear lockers, disconnectable sway bar, and a winch. No ranger is getting somewhere a power wagon can’t unless the power wagon just can’t fit.
