Hi inside house garage. Yes, same here. I use my pressure washers for my mowers, house, concrete and cars. Once in a while. My pressure washers are old and have tecumseh engines on them. The tecumseh's seem to have more sensitive carburetors and might be more prone to old gas and dirt. However, with ethanol free gas and yearly oil changes my pressure washers run great.

I use my gas powered one a few times a year and always use Trufuel so i have no starting problems but for small jobs i use my electric power washer and its just fine for those little jobs like outdoor furniture.

I use my power washer to clean my patio, driveway, utility trailer, mowers, and to get the dirt off the underside of my vehicles since I live down a dirt road.

One of the best ways to ruin a pressure washer is to start the engine without the water hooked up. The water lubricates the pump parts when the engine is running. I always hook up the water first then makes sure it comes out of the hose then I start the engine. Hey I paid over $400 for mine and I do not want to ruin it. My opinion here so do it your way as it is your rig.

The pump is oil lubricated and water cooled by the water. You can run the pump for short periods without damage. I have some other videos on pressure washers on this channel if you have time to watch them.

Robert, Inside house garage is correct and no harm is done. You can safely start a pressure washers for several seconds dry. No harm will be done. It is several minutes that will do damage.

I have a Honda pressure washer that ran well until one of my friends dropped it on the ground and now it only runs for like 3 seconds and then dies. Tried everything i could to see if i could get it running longer but i just cant figure out why it will not run anymore.

@@aintnbfr okay it looks like a honda style engine/harbor freight with fuel shut off and choke lever. Do me a favor and open the fuel valve and of there is a drain bolt on the bowl remove it. If not remove the only bowl nut and make sure you hold the bowl in place and see if gas flows out of the hole where the bolt was.

Luis, I make it a rule never lend out power equipment unless I am there on site. You never get it back in the same condition you lent it out. I am not alone, I hear of many horror stories. Anything from wrong gas, old gas, 2 cycle gas will not make you equipment run.

Adding to what inside house garage has stated. You get a powerful stream of water out of one to clean numerous objects around your home. Cleans fantastic and you use very little water. Rather than straight out of a garden hose.

I have the same one… I cleaned out the carb primer pumps well. I even put starting fluid inside behind the spark plug but it doesn’t even budge. I feel like it’s a spark issue or does this have a kill or on and off switch somewhere ? Because I noticed it has the wire that’s connected to the coil magneto for a switch… please help me

yes the off switch is integrated with the throttle. Try starting it with the throttle in either direction and see what happens.
