Got Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 installed by using the USB method, which didn't work at first until I redid the command for the install from OpenFirmware.
For those who are about to install the OS, the command I used was boot usb1/@1:3,\\:tbxi since the boot usb1/@1:,\\:tbxi one didn't work at all (gave the forbidden message).
The HDD is an old Fujitsu 80GB, which works, but, it's a bit slow and the RAM was upgraded from 512MB to 768MB (256MB onboard, 512MB stick) and runs on a PowerPC G4-1.5GHZ CPU with nVidia GeForce FX Go5200 and the SuperDrive works alright.
The system has seen better days (ding in the bottom right corner, which is no big deal, the main battery doesn't hold a charge well, even though it has 181 cycles on the battery, and the PRAM capacitor might be weak, but I'll give it another day when it's off to see if it'll keep the time or not since Linux would default back to 1969.
