Instead of removing the wheel well splash guard, it is easier to loosen the motor mount bolts and jack up the passenger side of the engine with a piece of 2x4 to distribute the load across the oil pan. This gives you access to the hardware that is hard to reach.
I thought it would be a good idea to tell you that I completed the repair about 2 weeks ago and my truck is still running great. Thank you very much, your video was perfect.
Nice thoroughly explained video, on the two bottom back lower bolts you can get to from top with ratcheting 12 and patience…and very back hidden bolt can be removed with a 12mm deep socket no extension
I noticed a rub mark on the injector wire when you unplugged it i hope that wasn't your problem, making it show a bad injector but any way grate job and video,,iam going to do the same soon. How has those parts seem to be holding up ever one say ford only with deep pockets ,, 👍👍
Right around the 18:00 mark, nope definitely there before, this was and Dept of Agriculture work truck purchased from an auction. Someone’s been in there before. Clear signs this thing has seen its fair share of service. For 300k miles it doesn’t look bad, on the passenger side bank I could tell one other injector had already been done.
Actually I couldn’t, we knew when he brought the truck that the batteries were on the way out, so much so that the trickle charger would trip a fault and stop charging. So I left it with the trickle charger AND a 2 amp charger for 2 solid days 😆. When we finally went to start it I turned off the trickle and kicked the 2 amp up to 10 amps. Those batteries were dead🪫
I did, but I went over kill precautions, propped the hood to clear the alligator clips of the more powerful charger, ran the non trickle charger through a fused surge protector (just in case). The issue is the insane amount of crank time this thing needs for the initial fire up after opening the fuel system as it’s purging any remaining air. If it was my truck (did the job for a friend of mine) I would’ve seriously considered new batteries
@frederickmyers7372 Pretty much, instead of the A/C, on the drivers side it’s the steering column and brake master cylinder confining your space. Also since the driver side valve cover doesn’t have the spout to add oil it might come out easier
