I don’t own Sauvage and I just made a BLIND BUY purchase of Luna Rossa Carbon and I LOVE it. Great fragrance, a real winner.....

I have it on my arm now after trying that, Prada L'homme, Spicebomb, Eros and on my leg Boss The Scent private and The One EdP. Last one smell nice Eros smelled amazing at first but now all I get is vanilla. L'homme smells weird like the mushroom/woody/paper smell somehome and I think this one smell the nicest. Would had wanted to smell Ultramale and more. But I could buy this one for now. Before when I smelled stuff what I liked the most was Armani Attitude but I also think Channel Egoiste Platinum smelled nice and what I own since before is Diesel Only the brave which I like for freshness, Versace The Dreamer which I don't like, Armani Code which was bought a loooong time ago which I like and Cool water which I don't like.

When I said performance I meant projection but didn't really clarify. I do the whole unscented lotion -> fragrance over top thing, but it does last me a work day. Thanks for watching Carlos, I appreciate it.

Went into a Sephora while I was in Rome and sprayed this on one arm, and ADG Profumo on the other. Both were great but I liked Carbon much better. My gf and I kept catching wafts of it while we were walking around and both thought it smelled amazing. Very pleasant people pleaser type scent. Can’t lose with it.

Breaking this out tomorrow........I found it a nice scent. For me it had quite a powdery overtone. Solid performer but was not what I was expecting. A solid buy.

I like Sauvage just fine, though it doesn't last longer than 3 hours on my skin. I think maybe it's because citruses burn off of me quickly. But I have kind of fallen in love with LR Carbon. I love the artistic concept. I love the blend of notes, and it actually develops in an interesting way on my skin. I agree with you. I'd rather wear this than Sauvage. It will be a purchase for me.

To me, this is a more well blended Sauvage. On my skin, the drydown of Sauvage is pure pepper and ambroxan. Very loud, very simple. Carbon, on the other hand, has a better blend of notes that carry well into the drydown. It's also a little less loud, a little smoother.

Spot on review! Thanks. I thought the exact same thing when I sprayed it on the other day...Sauvage has competition. I was on the fence with the sharpness of Sauvage and found this easier to wear, a tad smoother.

I agree this is slightly better then Dior. When this hits the discounters it will probably be easier to get a deal on then Sauvage, that would definitely make me choose this over Dior when my current bottle is out.

The soil and coal smell you mentioned is more so prevalent in the dry down and I LOVE it. In fact the earthy dry down is my favourite part of the scent.

I have both, and Carbon has put Sauvage on the back burner for me. A way more refreshing scent, the performance is fantastic, and I get compliments every time I wear it. My wife didn't care for the smell on paper but once it got put to skin she loved it!

And lasts about half the time. If you value performance then Sauvage is the clear winner. If you want to smell great for a 3-4 hour window of time then Carbon is a great choice.

Now here's something odd, the lady at Shoppers said that Polo Earth was discontinued and that CK Defy has an intense version that smells great. Maybe give it a look. Love your channel. Cheers

I recently tried Luna Rossa Carbon. I really like it. Yes there is a comparison to Sauvage but for me it is unique. The Prada fragrances have to be my favourite. I'm buying Prada Carbon tomorrow night. Thanks for a great review. Cheers. 🍻

Tried carbon today along with artisan pure. Put three sprays on each arm and went for walk around shopping centre. Artisan was gone within the hour, carbon was there till early evening and really enjoyed it , never been a fan of sauvage as I find it to sharp. Bought multi pack of carbon samples online for further testing before buying bottle.

I got this the 1st day it was available at Macys! I paid retail, which I never do nowadays. I have been collecting fragrances since 1996...at this stage in the game I have an Amazing collection of quality fragrances, and stopped buying just to have. IMO Prada has done a better job with this scent! It's Smooth, and well rounded. Carbon is not as powerful, but it's perfect for a man that's confident, and needs no attention. Whoever is lucky enough to be close to you will definitely love how you smell. I wish you didn't review this one! I selfishly want it for myself.

It has a less synthetic bite to it than Sauvage. You can call it smoother if you wish. Sauvage is a performance beast in the projection and sillage department and it is definitely intended for a response from others. Luna Rosa is a better “up close” frag in my book because the ambroxan isn’t as in your face. I think this review is very accurate. I own Sauvage so I won’t be buying this one, but I wish I had tested Luna Rossa Carbon before I made my decision.

I smelled this at the store today and very quickly smelled the similarities. And I don't even own Sauvage. I ended up buying Carbon however. Dior definitely has the projection and performance. However the toilette of the Carbon still performs VERY well. I find the Carbon to be a bit more peppery or even woody; and Sauvage to have a sweeter perhaps more floral top. That's my take on it. I actually bought Carbon.

I agree, it's 90% similar to Dior.. with the 10% being more metallic and crisper notes as it dries. Only those who CURRENTLY have both, as I do, would be able to discern the differences. I would prefer it over Sauvage if it weren't for it's notable lack of staying power, compared to it.

Great review. Best reviewer in the game. To anyone thinking they shouldn't try this because they have Sauvage think again. I own Both and I definitely like Carbon better. As Ashton said it is a more refined version and also deeper. It's more sophisticated than Sauvage. The opening of Sauvage is more sharp, crisp, and perfect but to me the dry down is boring. It opens so strong and sharp and then just turns boring and falls flat. Prada Luna Rossa Carbon is more subtle in the opening but is a much richer deeper more sophisticated scent. Carbon is what I would imagine Sauvage eau de parfum to smell like. To me it's like comparing Polo Blue to Polo blue edp. Or ADGio to ADGio Profumo. There is good reason to buy both Sauvage and Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. Just my opinion which counts for nothing.

Dials back the lime juice smell and dials back the pepper ALOT. Amps up the sweetness that Sauvage has in the opening with a dose of some creaminess. Overall smells better period.... best blue fragrance period.

Prada's Carbón is a Carbon copy of Sauvage but much smoother and sweeter imo. I layer it with Molecule 01 to enhance the longevity.

Luna Rosa is better every girl I know always likes the Prada Sport better and it’s not an overpowering smell. I always get compliments since I got this stuff to where I always have friends asking me what it is. I’ve had the same bottle for months too. Sauvage is over priced too

hey Ashton, nice haircut, it was about time lol, so believe it or not that carbon it is nowhere to be found near my house, went to Macy's and Sephora but nothing, looks like they always left Utah for last on the distribution centers, anyways I own Pi Air (blind buy it) and for me it's a really bad and tone down version of Le Male Pepeye (not just saying but the notes are almost identical) so I definitely want to sample this one before even think about getting a bottle

It's not a redundant purchase at all. I hate lavender but Prada blends it in so smoothly that it compliments the other notes so well, it's not Dior Sauvage, it's Dior Sauvage's refined and improved child, only drawback is it doesn't last as long or project like Sauvage but that doesn't matter if you're wearing it for yourself. You'll get whiffs of it even after 2 sprays for 6-8 hours on clothes.

I think sauvage is better. Tested Prada for a couple days and it didn't perform as well as Dior. Also the scent wasn't as good imo.

I think Sauvage is a great scent. Soubtle fresh sofistication. Luna Carbon follows along that path but goes into a sporty direction. when I first smelled it I imagined myself leaving a concrete, glass, and steel estate to get into my new carbon chassis Lamborghini Gallardo. Cold coal steel luxury.

I think it's super close to Sauvage, especially after initial blast faded away. overall it's above average but not really worth getting big bottle over if a person has Sauvage. I just received the 150 ml as a gift and not sure when able to really finish it due to its similarity to Sauvage, and Sauvage isn't even my go to scent.

Ashton, which one of the two would you pick if Sauvage and Luna Rossa Carbon were the only fragrances on the planet? I have sampled Luna Rossa Carbon and it's sort of a copycat to Sauvage. I'm one of the biggest Sauvage fans ever since the fragrance was released. Sillage, performance, versatility, and longevity would be in favor of Sauvage. Luna Rossa Carbon is almost there but I'd pick Sauvage ten out of ten times.

This is almost literally (almost because technically it isn't) a Sauvage flanker, a smoother and less scandalous version of Sauvage. They are equally versatile with a slight difference. Dressed up, I would go for Luna Rossa Carbon. Dressed down I would go for Sauvage. Although if one or the other didn't exist, I could see myself wearing the existent one in both situations.

Carbon is better imo. Sauvage is okay but too syrupy for my taste. Carbon is a little more nuanced and has that signature soapy vibe that I enjoy from the Prada line. Still very expensive online though.

I have multiple bottles of Sauvage. This does not warrant a purchase. What do you think of Versace Dylan Blue? I was thinking of purchasing it, but many reviewers are indicating that this is close to Sauvage, that it will be redundant purchase. Great video.

Dylan Blue has that ambroxan playing a main role, but to me it's different enough from Sauvage that I wouldn't call it redundant. I personally like Dylan Blue, it does well with the ladies (wife loves it) and it's completely non-offensive so you can wear it pretty much everywhere.

To my nose carbon and sauvage are almost the same. I would just buy Carbon being half the price of sauvage, the performance is slightly better on carbon

Sauvage is louder & sharper. This is a bit sweeter & balanced version of Sauvage. like it better then Sauvage. Not a better projector but looking at the price difference this is a winner.

Sauvage is Dior's take on Bleu de Chanel. As you describe it, it sounds as if Sauvage is an original fragrance.

Thanks for the review, kind of annoying how everyone copies.. now why would any fraghead with 100's of bottles want to smell the same way as everyone on the street.. Just is becoming a popular smell like ADG did in the 90's.. I heard savage has a new spray can release that is more fresh .. have you tried it? Do you prefer this one over the original suavage?

Guinea54 I haven't tried the new Sauvage yet. at this point I would likely choose carbon over Sauvage but I like both personally

Guinea54 It's the closest scent to Sauvage I've smelled in the opening so it could be redundant for you. The others you mention are good all purpose people pleasers. between the two I like Dylan blue more
