The prawn suit torpedo launchers *can* kill a reaper leviathan if you use the ones with gasopod neurotoxin. You will need to make 32-40 torpedoes, and use dual torp launchers. Find a reaper (not hard), bring your stasis gun... get out of your prawn and let it come at you. Stasis it. Then really stasis it. Jump back in your prawn suit and get yourself at a good angle because the stasis field will affect your torps... unload all your torps on him so that the toxic cloud obscures him.... jump out, stasis him again, and repeat. Once you've fired about 36 torps and theres a toxic cloud around him... quickly swap out the torp launchers for your usual punchy mitts... hit the reaper a few times... he will die.
I usually just suffer the 6-8 Reaper Rollercoaster rides while punching him in the face but I thought... "There has to be a reason these toxin torps exist", and that's the best use I could find. I did three double torp unloads on him (36 torps) hit him twice, and he died. The key is the angle. Once you stasis him you have to move to an angle where your torps won't get interfered with by the field. Now, to be honest, the time it takes to gather the gasopod floaties isn't really worth it, except once, just to say you did it. And while figuring it out, twice he broke free, grabbed my prawn suit and ran off with it while I was trying to think "should i chase him or just run like hell". If you have the torps ready though, you can drop one in under a minute. Just takes b@lls of steel...
2 things that I noticed that you missed. The Prawn's propulsion cannon is stronger then the normal one and can lift heavier objects. The grappling hooks can be dual wielded for a more spiderman like approach.
@@mavoc3094 got my one yesterday, didn't have time to test it properly. How could you come back from deep cave systems, if you don't wield the grappling hook? Are dose jump jets strong enough to go back up?
I honestly think that the Grappling arm is so underated. I mean, have you TRIED to jump jet out of the Blood Kelp Trench in a single try? Grappling arm has you covered (most of the way) back up to the Shallows! xD
Jeb Stuart Yes, you hold the corresponding mouse button to shoot it, and once it hits a target, it will pull you in closer to it. I HIGHLY recommend it. You can hold onto walls while waiting for the jet pack to recharge, as well as using it to add large amounts of momentum to the prawn. You can go faster than a seamoth using this method well. It's ridiculous how fast you can get.
My setup is: drill arm and grappling arm, one storage upgrade for convenience, highest possible depth upgrade, jump jet upgrade and thermal reactor module.
In my last playthrough I never even built the Cyclops, I just went down with the prawn suit so the reactor was very useful. Back up I just took portals so no need to climb either.
same as well just dropped the thermal reactor and added more storage. after ion powercells power issues are a thing of the past ! . ;) tons of silver ore can be found in the under water mountains at the bottom near the lava vents . good luck
For leviathans there's something better than stasis with knife or thermoblade. Stasis them and drop 15-25 gas pods (obtained from when gasopods shit everywhere) around their mouth. It'll deal continuous damage and I've killed a sea dragon in a matter of seconds by doing this
Its kinda risky for hardcore players like me, It only takes like 12 torpedoes to kill a reaper, And it is mucj safer in a vehicle so you don't have tp worry aboit poisoning yourself.
@@agamerdude7596 I was not aware of the number. I suppose that may be better than 125 slashes and 5 fully charged Stasis blasts. I know that I made 6 gas torpedoes and they didn't seem to do much to even deter a reaper. I wasn't impressed. But if 12 is the magic number, I'll give your way a shot with 2 torpedo arms next time.
I got a lot of mobility mileage out of the grapple arms in combination with the jump jets. For combat purposes I did prefer the fists, just because they do damage up front rather than requiring a target to stay put. I didn't spent that much time facing Leviathans though so the drill arm was fine if it was what was installed and I needed to convince a stalker that I was not on the menu.
Yeah, grapple arm + drill was my usual loadout. Only really used the arms for grabbing drops from outcroppings and it was usually easier to just get out and pick it up by hand that deal with the stuff falling/rolling away + the lag of the prawn arms.
I like using the grappling arm to Spider Man through the caves. Combination of Jump Jet + Grapple ahead, swing.. bit of jet bump then Grapple again. Kind of a pain you have to demount the suit to change arms.
At least this isn't a realistic game, otherwise you'd have to spend much longer changing arms, and chances are an extra arm would take up the entire storage.
you only need three arm upgrades, drill, grapple, and propulsion cannon. You may be wondering why propulsion cannon over torpedos? Because crashfish are a MUCH less resource intensive source of ammunition.
The prawn suit is amazing, I beat the game with only it and the seamoth. All I needed was the grappling arm (FAST movement when slingshoting yourself)and the drill arm. (Technically i had to build the cyclops for the shield module, but I never used it otherwise.)
I'm not one to normally comment, but just wanted to say that you did an excellent job with the details. Straight, to the point with excellent comparisons and details on stacking or not. Keep the videos coming.
I think they changed the prawn suit in the newest version. I put two jump jet upgrades on my prawn and it jumps higher and faster than with just one. I put them on one I made red and blue, gave it two grappling arms and dubbed it the spiderprawn
The propulsion cannon arm can launch crashfish if you raise them in captivity from an egg and use the “load item” function in your prawn. They explode on contact. It’s efficient if you ditch one upgrade the storage one for ammo capacity.
I'd like to point out that the Prawn suit propulsion arm is capable of grabbing an item from your inventory, while the propulsion cannon cannot remove items from your inventory. It can also fire those items as projectiles, like the propulsion cannon, but as you can grab them from the Prawn suit's inventory, you can load the suit with random single slot items for maximum ammunition, or load predators/defensive fish from eggs you had hatched, and have a gun that shoots stalkers/crashfish/crabsquids/etc. And yeah, I agree that keeping the drill arm on target is a major flaw for defensive purposes, and that is a weird glitch with the Prawn suit being kept out of stasis bubbles.
the grapple arms best trait is the ability to use it in conjunction with your jump jets to translate their momentum horizontally rather than vertically.
You can use the regular claw arm alongside the propulsion arm to easily pick up objects and fish alike, specially useful in environments where mineral deposits aren’t that common, the Propulsion Arm has enhanced range compared to the regular version, so you won’t have to jump all over the place to pick those up mineral chunks.
For reference, I have seen on another video someone killed a Reaper using the base arm. When the Reaper picked it up, hammering both arms at it at once as fast as possible took about 30% of its health. After that it was chasing down the Reaper and Stasis it, then bring your prawn over and attack
I played this game for a couple months before finding the prawn suit. Finally had to google it and the pieces were in front of my face the whole time. I’m so far into the game without it that it’a hard for me to use now.
You can slingshot yourself with a grappling arm if you use the jets and release at the right time, you can also swing if you have momentum. this can help you go further
that is quite awesome when you want to escape a situation ,i had like 3 bone shark and the electric eel thing hurting my prawn , i went from 700mts to 100mts in 5 tarzan grapplings barely made it out with my suit at 15% hp and 5 energy
Reaper? Sea Dragon? Yup. Stasis and Knife worked wonders. Juvenile Ghost? Hell no. After attacking it for the 5th time that way, I had enough. That moron sped away to come back not even 10 seconds later.
there is an exploit with the grapple arm. If you grapple on to something and wait for a bit, your jet jump should recharge meaning you can scale any wall in the game as long as the suit fits
It's not a exploit it's a feature you would not be able to get out of the lost river or active/inactive lava zones without the cyclops or warp gates if the grapple arm did not have that feature
Had to build a second Moon Pool. Built the first one over a large open coral tube pointing directly up into my Moon Pool opening. It was great until I used my prawn suit in the MP. When I got back into the Prawn suit, it dropped my right into the coral tube. Couldn't move, couldn't exit the Prawn, couldn't jump the suit up out of it. Stuck. Had to wriggle the suit side-to-side for 5-10 minutes before I finally got it out of the coral tube. Built a second moon pool within a minute!
I don't know how I keep on playing this game. Every time I have been playing it for the last few weeks now since getting it, I honestly ask myself this...How am I possibly going to reach the endgame and experience all the homes if I literally almost had a bloody anxiety attack just getting to the front entrance of the Aurora the other day to get this blueprint? I didnt even see the Reaper from inside the water but I heard its out of distance roaring, and only when I got out of the water reaching the ship finally I saw him come up to the surface near my moth. This game is so pleasing in so many ways but pertaining to the fear factor, it is seriously next to unbearable it is moreso upsetting than enjoyable, for me personally. I have yet to come across a Reaper insight in water. I don't know if I can do this to be honest although having built the exosuit is pretty cool but quite immobile without the grapple arm...
Oh my god, can someone please just tell me how to install uprgades for the prawn suit. Which part of the video. I have a drill arm, but I don't know how to put it onto my fucking prawn suit.
I got tired of the Leviathans messing with my Seamoth. I made the Prawn suit with the grapple arm and drill arm and hooked the grapple to the neck of the Leviathan and held on like an underwater rodeo while I slit it up with my drill arm. Took about 5 min per Leviathan, but the Pequod I and II have been avenged.
A few days ago, a J. Ghost glitched my Seamoth under the ground and below the depth limit, destroying it (thankfully, it was the secondary one I used for the Cyclops and not my main one) Once I get the Prawn Suit, I'm going for it.
on my opinion even tho it takes more time to kill a creature, the drill arm is much better for console players because aiming with a single finger is pretty really hard, and drill has kind of lock on enemy/ore
So i think this is the best combo for it Arms Drill arm Grapple arm Modules Jet module Thermal reactor Hull reinforcement Depth module I think its the best combo for it. Anyway hope it helps
Try stasis rifle and rapid fire 4 gas torpedos, and repeat the process. It's fun to kill Leviathans that way and it didnt take that long, just like maybe two dozen of missles will do
One thing the prawn suit needs is sonar. Would love to hit sonar and map out my escape plan besides going pretty much blind. Only thing keeping me from going all the way down is not being able to get back to the surface. But maybe i need to stop being such a girl lmao
I killed a reaper leviathan under 30 seconds with punching arm and about 48 seconds with punching arm killing a dragon leviathan, it took almost twice as much time for the reaper with drill arm and took 2 minutes for the dragon with drill arm because i could only use 1 and probably because i needed to hang on the dragon to actually damage it
Nah drill is more effective. So for creatures like the stalker or lava lizard and smaller just use a propulsion cannon arm to grab them and use the drill arm. For bigger creatures use the grapple arm and drill. Much faster and more efficient this way
I found that Grappling Arm + Drill Arm is quite effective in dealing with various shark/eel type creatures. I choose drill because I don't feel like getting out and changing it every time I get ambushed while drilling that sweet sweet ore.
The first time I went to the mushroom forest(the one with crabsnakes) I found the spot the spot that has stasis rifle fragments but didn't scan them, but now I can't find that spot every time I look
SN fact #1. If your pressure re-active waterproof nano suit is INSIDE the range of the stasis rifle (the bubble) it can move inside the bubble. SN fact #2. There was supposed to be a noise meter for the PRAWN suit and seamoth.
Actually, I had multiple cases where I would become stuck inside the stasis bubble. I had cases where I could walk into the bubble from outside without issue and other times I would become stuck. I also had multiple times where I could move freely inside the bubble, times I would be able to walk without issue but get stuck as soon as I jumped, and other times I would be stuck as soon as I tried to move at all. I never found a consistent cause for when it would get stuck or not because what happened one time would not happen the next.
Walker's propulsion cannon does not work the same way as hand version. You can't collect what you catch with that. So this is at least this one difference - it's not suitable for fishing.
You need to use the regular un-upgraded grabber arm to collect objects you attract with the Propulsion Arm, it takes a bit to get used to it but it’s seriously so useful when collecting ores from deposits, and also, yeees you can fish with it
@@bonelesschickennuggets1868 I mean fishing. Hand version is useful to get some fish easier and it's the only use of this tool. Walker's version can't do it so it's totally useless.
@@radoslawmazurekwaw No? You CAN collect fish with the Prawn version you just need to use it alongside the grabber arm as in without any arm upgrade. Basically you attract with right click and collect with left click or viceversa depending on which arm you put the upgrade. You can use it for fishing, collecting resources like shale ores- it basically extends the range of your pick up radius in both Prawn and handheld versions
