Montezuma Valley Rd. aka Montezuma Grade aka the glass elevator is an iconic descent located in San Diego County on the edge of the Anza Borrego Desert. There is a 3500ft/1000m elevation difference between the top and bottom and going truly fast is wind dependent as this only averages at -6%.
We snuck in with a nice tailwind right before it became unsafe to ride due to gusts. I felt really lucky to make it in time as this turned out to be the fastest sustained run of any decent length I've done to date. I stayed off the brakes most of the way down and tried to squeeze every bit of speed out of this road.
