As we go through life, our health can deteriorate. When we think we are invincible, a mild fever or tooth ache would force us to take things slow. Our daily activities are disrupted, and it significantly can affect our work, our plans and even the schedule and finances. It also takes a toll on our family members because they have to carry on other tasks.
Jesus is close to the sick. Nothing seems grand nor small for him. He heals every wound and provides comfort in times of need. In verse, 2 Corinthians 16-17, our physical bodies may be suffering from illnesses or physical weakness. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that is far beyond comparison.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you and pray for our physical bodies. It is weak, it needs to be revived, it needs strength so we can carry on with our tasks. This discomfort is causing me to pause, and taking the time to talk with you and realize that my earthly body can only do so much. Heal me Father, You are the great Physician, Jehovah and you can bring back the strength. Please give me wisdom on what medicine to take, doctors to go to. As I am going through this, I will also nourish my body with good food, enough sleep and rest. As I am recovering now, I thank you Lord for the gift of health. May this be used for your ultimate glory.
