@Chi-Drumming Raimi never said anything about the Avengers or Spiderman knowing who strange is. They simply indicated that the guy existed, which could easily mean he just became a hero somewhere else. But also, Raimi didn't have the right or need to mention the Avengers. So it still aged well
@@stephenmurphy2212 this is why this multiverse is annoying imo, the way they set up every universe needing to have their own version of the same people. SO far theres 0 continuity/consistency across this, but every universe has a version of their respective characters, so just a spiderman and a doctor strange doesnt make sense with this idea. But this isnt because its thought out,. its because theres too many people writing stories about one giant arc and not enough oversight on these decisions to make sense. Why is every wolverine hugh jackman except 1? Why is every strange benedict cumberbatch but every spiderman is a different person altogether? Its very confusing.
@@taylorlarkin623 well, the multiverse is infinite. There’s probably a billion universes out there. We probably just haven’t come across a Dr Strange variant yet that doesn’t look like BC. We never saw the Raimi-verse strange. I imagine he looks like Pierce Brosnan.

Just checked the DVD commentary. @@Figuresnottoys well he's washed isn't he? Besides I'm pretty sure all the marvel references in the novelizations were the writer having fun and nothing the movie crew intended (If Affleck were the Daredevil here then Jack likely died before Peter was even born)
You know so something, these earlier Marvel movies felt more like the comics connection wise than the MCU. Because the MCU felt the need to reference their other movies constantly to let you know they were connected. While the earlier movies felt like self contained stories that took place in a bigger universe, dropping subtle hints every once and a while. I prefer this
That's because the MCU has always been like one huge franchise, so they always need readers to be reminded of that. Pre-MCU Marvel films were their own franchises. Fox had X-Men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil going on, but they never treated them as if this was one inter connected story. They were just movies based off Marvel superheroes, which were set in the same World, period
Subtle hints? Have you read a comic? They always reference things that happened in either earlier books, other books currently running, or hint at things to come in other books. How often does someone say something in a 90s comic, only for it to have a * asterisk and then a yellow box saying "*Spidey is talking about his adventure with the X-Men in The Uncanny X-Men #347, on sale now!" Marvel comics built their brand on characters from popular runs bleeding into and showing up in other comics, often to boost sales. Oh, Fantastic Four is doing bad? Put Spidey and Wolverine on the team for a few issues so they can be on the cover! Honestly, I get what you mean, the MCU shouldn't feel like homework, because movies are better when self contained stories that have satisfying conclusions. You can do that with an overarching plot and a large cast of characters shared across movies, the MCU did just that for Phase 1. Edit: This doesn't even touch on the big crossover events that dominate each book at different times through the year.
@@localhjay I love the MCU story consistency but OG fox and sony universes had a charm about itself with their own stories to tell. It forced the writers to be creative and embrace the superheroes mythos and canon. With the MCU it gets kinda stale when you constantly refer to another franchise and series for your own story sake, but it is consistent albiet lost of an epic factor.
i don’t think the wrestler at the beginning is jack murdock because: 1. that would imply spider man is way older than daredevil 2. jack murdock was a boxer, not a wrestler 3. if tobey’s spider man and affleck’s daredevil are meant to be the same universe, the timelines just don’t line up to support the idea of the wrestler being jack murdock
The director of The Incredible Hulk wanted Tobey Maguire to cameo in the movie. The Oscorp building from TASM movies was gonna be in the background of The Avengers movie. There’s concept art of Iron Man for the Spider-Man 3 movie tie-in game
Since I was a kid I always believed that they could be in the same universe and one day we would have this crossover and thus become the MCU, it would have been much better with what we have today
@@thedarksaber yes I know I didn't say they hadn't but most of the time spider man fought alongside the avengers but never joined them in fact he and wolverine didn't become a member of the avengers until 2005 40 years after the creation of the avengers also the x men and avengers have fought eachother before having them form the avengers wouldn't make any sense it would be better to join them later on
This video personifies my inner thoughts. I’ve head canoned everything Marvel related to being in the same universe pre-MCU which also includes the cartoons and video games. I believe one of the X-Men video games that’s tied to the films also features other Marvel characters. The Punisher video game features Iron Man, Black Widow, and Nick Fury.
At the time when that line was said by Nick Fury, they(Marvel) probably intended to seal the deal on Spiderman and the xmen, making it into the mcu wayyyy earlier .With how well planned out the mcu was, they'd not make a mistake, such as to suggest Spiderman was running around as a toddler. Iron man came out in 2008 if i remember, and the mcu timeline ran parallel to our timeline,so peter wouldn't have been running around yet. This all makes me believe Nick Fury was referring to Toby's Peter Parker. It was a way to leave the door open for combining what already was established for super hero movies. Luckily it all worked out over a decade later
Exactly. Well... early Cap: First Avenger's script included Wolverine and Magneto cameo. But i think this script was writing in 2008-2009 years. in 2011 it was 2nd attempt for Spider-Man. Marvel Studios wanted to use Oscorp Tower from TASM. But Avengers movie finished filming.
Probably because the general from Rise of Silver Surfer was originally supposed to be Nick Fury. So Tim Story and the Fox people wanted to use that version of Nick Fury (before Marvel Studios actually pulled the trigger and got Samuel L. Jackson to play Fury).
Nah that last line was cheesy, as the top reply says. I think it would work better if it just cuts to Tony's "What are we avenging", then the scene ends, adding some cool ambiguity
Thomas Jane Punisher must be a Mandela Effect bc I have lived on this planet for my whole life and never ever saw, heard or knew of this in any capacity. 😮
Yep haha! I remember seeing the theatrical poster at the movie theater when I was a kid.. couldn't watch it cause it was rated r lol it's a good one! Very different from the other marvel movies at the time.. it's like a Tarantino type of/kind of, movie. Pretty cool👍

In my head Toby Maguire’s Spiderman films, MTV Spiderman, Daredevil the film, Electra the film, Ghost Rider films and The Punisher film are all in the same universe. Hulk 2003 and Blade could be in the same universe. Fantastic Four (2005) and the X-Men are also probably the same universe. Maybe they’re all the same who knows.
The original line in that last deleted scene with nick fury could have changed the entire set up for the MCU an would have jus been a continuation to what was already happening. It’s wild that simply legal rights to the characters is all that changed the entire trajectory of this story.
AVI ARAD has ruined so far... * Daredevil (2003) * The Punisher (2004) * Elektra (2005) * Fantastic Four (2005) * X-Men: The Last Stand * Spider-Man 3 * Bratz (2007) * Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance * The Amazing Spider-Man 2 * Ghost in the Shell (2017) * Venom: Let There Be Carnage * Uncharted (2022) * Morbius * Borderlands And now he's gonna ruin... * Kraven the Hunter * Venom: The Last Dance * The Legend of Zelda movie * Naruto As long Arad lives, there's no hope
I have confidence Avi Arad won't be able to ruin Zelda even if he wants to with Miyamoto breathing on his neck the whole time like he did with Illumination
Asi??
@@timelordvictorious5508 I always heard "they couldn't find his suit in time" which always felt weird to me. It's not like they could have just put Hugh Jackman in any clothes and called it a day, maybe just having him use the claws to showcase that he is indeed playing Wolverine. I feel like legal issues prevented that
Apparently Wolverine was gonna cameo in Spider-Man 1, but they couldn’t find the costume, so that ended up getting scrapped. This fact always pisses me off whenever I remember it, since all they really needed to do is give him a tank top, some jeans, and style his hair like in the movie. But no, they wanted that SPECIFIC jacket and jeans 🤦🏿♂️
@@AdventVFX There was also gonna be a line of dialogue in iron-man about how Tony helped dock ock design his arms, but that got cut due to licensing issues, as well as the alternate post credit scene where fury mentions radioactive bug bites and mutants.
@@SilentSnake1998, to your top comment, I assumed they wanted the x-men suit which confused me because 1.) Nobody knows the x-men saved them from magneto and 2.) They're in the middle of a festival, before goblin shows up, so why would he be openly wearing the suit?
@@kevinskywalker5539 True, that confused me too. But apparently they wanted the specific jacket from the movie, which I’d say is even worse because at that point all they had to do was just give him a tank top, have him blend into the crowd, maybe do a shot of him saying “screw this” and leaving when Goblin attacks the parade, and call it a day. I think they dreamed a little too big with this, when it should’ve basically been the Stan Lee cameo.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="18">0:18</a> Okay, there's two reasons why I think that doesn't work. One: Jack Murdock was a boxer, not a wrestler. Especially a masked wrestler. That's ridiculous. Two: Having him lose and be casted away with injuries like that kind of makes hard to believe that his death is going to motivate Matt Murdock to become Daredevil in the future.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="85">1:25</a> <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="138">2:18</a> Is that the chad doctor from the legendary "I am a surgeon" scene? THE dr. Han?

Movie novelizations add a bunch of references. From the top of my head, Hank Pym was at Octavius’ demonstration and suddenly disappears when things go south. I think Iron Man appears in the novel too.
It was a blooper/prank from the first X-Men movie. they just randomly had some guy dressed as Spider-Man run in, say "Wait, wrong movie, sorry!" and run back out 😂
I believe Punisher, Spider-Man 2, & Daredevil are all connected. It’s almost like only the street level hero’s exist. A Doctors Strange could exist too but maybe looks different and is probably more famous for a surgeon than wizard with a low profile. Hulk, Ghost Rider, and Blade are all just alone in their universes. Fantastic Four and X-men are definitely separate from those mentioned but could be connected to each other somehow. IMO its more like FF are alone in their universe but also think Fox X-men Movies are not all one universe because they contradict one another a lot, so if connected to Fantastic Four it would probably be a variant universe we haven’t seen before with a wolverine that looks like Hugh Jackman.
High Jackman as wolverine was supposed to make a cameo in Sam Raimi Spider-Man but I think his costume being missing prevented it. At least on some level those are connected or were intended to be.
Blade is part of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man universe, because in a deleted scene from Blade 1 Blade meets Morbius, perhaps the scene was deleted because the rights to Morbius were with Sony due to the fact that Morbius is a Spider-Man villain, Ghost Rider is part of the Spider-Man and Daredevil universe too, there is a poster that says "Daredevil" in a scene from the film, besides that Hugh Jackman would appear in Spider-Man 1 but they couldn't find an outfit similar to Wolverine's (LOL) and there is a scene of Reed Richards from 2005 looking like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine

Looking at these "cameos" and deleted scenes kinda makes me wish that we got proper crossovers pre-mcu. It's just too bad that Columbia,Fox (back when it was still around), Universal, Paramount, and Lionsgate NEVER took the initiative to crossover these characters and create a mini universe that would lead to something (similar to) like ultimate alliance
That last one would've changed everything. The endless implications and connective tissue that is directly implied would've meant we could've had Spider-Man and mutants from the start.
