@@PoolSchoolerhey sir , have you ever used hydrogen peroxide to chemicalize a pool ? I seen someone unseen a pool with it.
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 4 месяца назад
@@mikedaflame8483 I personally have never used it. I have heard of people using it, but I don’t know enough about what it can do and how it interacts with the chemicals of the pool to really comment accurately on it. Certainly something worth researching online.

When is a good time to replace a “quad DE” cartridges? How long do they last and what does it look like
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 4 месяца назад
It really depends upon how well they are maintained. If you are backwashing frequently enough and not over, recharging it, and also having the grids cleaned and inspected at least annually most grit should last you several years. According to the manufacturers, they should last between seven and 10 years.

@@PoolSchooler this one in particular has no backwash valve. So how do I backwash it? Suggestions pls.
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 3 месяца назад
@@erickrhernandez1451 according to Pentair, they suggest taking it apart every six months and cleaning the grids that way. Another reason I’m not a fan of DE filters.

48sft pentair de filter do u recommend getting pentair grid replacements or do u have a aftermarket recommend brand.

Sorry to say I don't have any recommendations. But I can say that there are plenty of after market grids that are as good or better than the manufacturers and usually cost less. But unfortunately I don't have any recommendations. Check amazon and look at their reviews and for the "Amazon Pick".

I'm seriously considering using liquid chlorine over my Hayward autochlorinator with the chlorine tablets. I've been watching videos on automatic chlorinators for liquid chlorine. What is your feeling about any of these or do you have any knowledge of it?
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 3 месяца назад
I've always preferred liquid chlorine over all others forms of chlorine (ie: tablet, granular) because of it's purity. I unfortunately don't have any experience with liquid chlorine "dispensers". BUT based on a quick google search they're not cheap. HASA has one for over $300 and Hayward has one for over $1,000! That's REALLY expensive and not sure how the units hold up to the elements.

@@PoolSchooler I'm looking at the rola chem. It looks pretty good. Basic and ease of operation. I have and above ground pool approximately 7,600 gallons. This is my second summer here in Florida with it and my CYA levels are already pushing past 150.
@PoolSchooler

@@bsheek59 unfortunately I’m not familiar with that. But let me know how it works out. I checked them out online. It looks like it’s still pretty pricey over $400 if I’m correct.

Wanna know what you think… the gentleman at our local pool supply is recommending to replace the water after just a few seasons after replastering, stating due to leaching of calcium into water during curing process. What are your thoughts?
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 5 месяцев назад
I'd be reluctant to agree. The only way to remove calcium is dilution so you want to make sure first your source water is not high in calcium (minerals) if so changing water won't help. Ive not experienced what this pool pro says about calcium being leached. If you have to maybe you can drain a portion of the pool to get the water hardness down.

What stores do you recommend to buy chems other Pool products?
@PoolSchooler

I'm not typically a fan of pool supply stores. I get my supplies from a local seller who caters to pool svc pros. But for chlorine you can do Home Depots, Lowes Costco etc. Other items you can find online.
