I purchased m2k generator new used the previous owner used it for camping boxed it in storage again, next year ran bad, sold it to me at a discount I cleaned the carb put in a small filter from the chainsaw shop now runs great I power a small fridge,2 swamp koolers, 2 fans all on economy mode will run 11hrs out of gas, I also brake in change to full synthetic oil, my last one I ran it off grid 10hrs a day 3yaers wore it out, it still runs, smokes like a train
I bought mine used. It's 4 years old. I've run it occasionally every week for a year. Never had any issues it always starts with one pull. Definitely worth the 400 I paid for it.
Nice review I've been enjoying my Predator 2000 for two years now and not a single problem it can even power my small refrigerator in the garage like you said there was a bit of a draw when I plugged it in bu then was all good I'm happy enough with it and thinking of picking up another one take care 🙂
Thanks! I bought one of these and just started it up yesterday! I'm expecting power outages here in N. California any day now - it's getting hot! Hopefully my house makes it through fire season, or I just wasted a few hundred bucks!
I've had 3 power safety shutoffs in less than 2 weeks. My place is near San Jose and PG&E is using this for their agenda w/PUC board. Both groups just plainly and severely suck! And now I'll try first run with the Harbor Freight 2000w quiet generator. Hope your home makes it too.
@@LostLk2hi Last night we had the power out for over 6 hours and this thing took care of two refrigerators, a couple of fans and a couple of lamps without a hiccup, so it's been tried and tested now! Great little generator!
Just bought this a month ago. Less than 300 hrs. Total run time @ 50%. Never let the oil get low, changed oil every week. It threw the piston into the head so hard it smashed the plug flat and shattered the piston. Good luck it's a P.O.S!!
When you say charge controller, do you mean a regular battery charger that you’d plug into a wall? Not too familiar with things like this, but received one of these as a gift and want to learn. We are always trying to charge lawn mower batteries or jump start them. Wondering if this can be used for that?
To add to Randoms video, I lived off grid using only Honda, decided to try a HF, Mine ran 88 days till giving up the ghost. 24/7 only to fill fuel and change oil!
We live in Southwest Florida so ethanol-free gas is available everywhere and that’s what I use. If I know I won’t be using it for quite some time, I pour the gas out of the tank or let it run dry to keep the crap out of the carburetor.
There is a way to shut off the fuel on this model Just rotate the knob CCW towards off and stop turning just before the motor cuts out... ( just before ) This action will shut off the gas supply but not the ignition , and in 3 mins or so the engine will quit , then turn knob all the way off ..
it does have a fuel cut off . it on the back side of the stop run switch on the front of the generator . turn the switch to off and it cuts the fuel flow to the carb. i run two of these for my 5th wheel camper in parallel they run everything with no problem . but about all 2000 watts gens are about the same i use wen parts on the predator , bought used someone threw away the spark arrestor and made one twice as loud as the other same carb like 29 form wen 59 from harbor freight .
@@RandomlyAwkward1 good no issues that i see runs everything on my 30amp 5th wheel . I recommend the Westinghouse Inverter Generator Parallel Cord. it just plugs in the 120 volt outlets super fast . the suicide cord has caps on the plugs and on /off switch on the leads so you dont commit suicide ..
Bought it to run a 1200 watt RV ac. would run for 10 minutes with an overload light on and stop generating. I returned it, they charged me 20% restocking fee. You have to remove the entire side of the generator to check the oil. Other generators have a small snap door to check the oil. I don't see those screws lasting very long. The 145 dollar restocking fee was worth getting rid of this pos. Bought a similar wen generator from amazon for 350 dollars and works fine. I gotta say this video is either biased or not deep enough to analyse the problems.
Sorry you had issues with yours.. I paid for mine fully (without endorsements) and have had nothing but a positive experience so I guess I am biased in that I thought it was a good value. Maybe you had a lemon?
You do realize a 1200 watt ac could have a surge start up of 2400 sounds like you should do some research first before buying something any electric device consumes the most on start up to take this into account you double the wattage🤣😂🤣🤦🏼🤡🌎
I’m finding your video late a hopefully you will see and respond to my question. Will this be enough to recharge batteries in the field for my lawn equipment?
Hi Diego, Yes this will recharge your batteries in the field, however you should probably use a charge controller as it is an unregulated 12 volt supply and fluctuates a lot
I’m sure that it could. Look at the sticker inside of your refrigerator door at the power ratings. Multiply the volts times amps and that will give you the watts. As long as you are under 2000 watts you will be able to run any combination of things. Thanks!
Thanks… it should be able to run an 11000 BTU window unit, as low by as it doesn’t draw more than 2000 watts. The manual should show the wattage required, or if you don’t have it handy, it can probably be found online. Hope this helps!
Mine runs a 5000 btu just fine you might be able to go 8000btu I think the 11000 btu would be to big good rule of thumb is you want your generator to be running at 1/4 to 1/2 load for long period running and intermittent full loads for longevity and good fuel consumption if not get a bigger generator for your power consumption needs🧐💯
I’m sorry you weren’t able to see it in higher quality. It was recorded in 4K and that’s how I see it on my computer so maybe you’re experiencing a bandwith issue somewhere. Hopefully you can still get the information from the video even if it’s low resolution.
@@RandomlyAwkward1 no worries, I can see other 4k videos on RU-vid. Are you watching the video that you made or on RU-vid? Try viewing from your phone. Sometimes when you upload the video you miss the setting for 4k. No big deal, just telling you. Yes, thanks for the video.
Hi there, Yes, you can plug this into an RV if you have a 30 amp or 50 amp system, and you have an adapter that goes down to a regular 15 amp household plug. As long as the sum total of all the things you’re using does not exceed the 2000 W rating for this generator, you should be able to run some things. It will not be able to run the air conditioner, however. I’m not an RV expert but usually an RV with one air conditioner will have a 30 amp plug and those that are wired for two air conditioners will have 50 A.
Hey Tony, it’s still running like a champ and have never had an issue with it. Most recently used in a Christmas parade on our boat and it ran for about six hours and barely used a half a tank of gas.
