You need to install a voltage regulator/rectifier. At the moment you're running unregulated AC voltage to the light. You'll end up blowing the light and cooking the coil. Especially if you connect both coils. A regulator/rectifier costs about $10 on eBay. Get the 5 pin plug (5 wire) one so you can connect both coils to it.

Other than the cause that you can order online for the 212 predator engine is there any other motor that you can adapt over or coils that you can adapt from another motor to the 212 that's a question I need cuz I'm real low on cash
Its crazy how much power a non governed one of these engines is...got one of those nitrous kits im gonna toss onto my cammed, non governed 22mm Mikuni 212...What size are those 8mm bolts that hold the charging coil to the block? 1.5in or 2in, or bigger? Nice work...love the video..
I believe I used a crank bolt to match the threads and I took a tape measure to the coil thickness and added 3/8", then found a bolt that was as close to that length as I could. I don't have the exact specs on hand I apologize. THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE!!!!
Oh my goodness all you had to do was loosen the bolts and drive the governor arm down and out , same with the gear all you had to do is drive the governor gear shaft in from the other side and the governor gear will drop down. remove them and the washers and put two bolts in the the remaining holes.
@@kingofthepod5169 you mean the charge coil. but yes, needs the magnet plus the sensor coil magnet, unless you can figure out how to make ignition run off of a 12v battery!
I actually uses a ball joint fork behind it and tapped it to wedge it in then I tapped the flywheel. Be patient, to tap too hard, can damage stuff if your too aggressive.
Amazon, search under Preditor 212 charging coil, they have 2 versions one is a single coil setup and one is the dual like what I have in the video!! Hope this helps!!!
@@TheSugabear210 your totally right I remember now, ebay is where I had to go for the dual coil setup, I just looked and it dosent have a part number nor does it ask if it's a hemi, sale price was 44$ +12$ shipping
Yes actually, I might blow it up because I have absolutely no idea how tune these things, but I love the idea of it, I might just have to do it now! Lol
@@Rep361Texas we tore the engine I bought rebuilt the other day bro everything was correct that they mentioned but they put a old timing chain on the m.f. so I replaced that. Jus waiting on the mechanic or Christmas to come one or the two now.....
We have a couple bike on nos.. it's really not too hard to tune, just need to get the correct nos bottles and they are not the ones from Walmart for the co2 guns
@@coryhiland7105 I can actually use the left overs from my truck to fill the bottles for the preditor, I just need to study on Nitrous vs carb to get the mixture right for the trike
I found it on ebay under preditor 212 charging coil, make sure to find a local seller within the u.s. and make shure they have a good rating!! Coils and flwheel was roughly 60$
Interesting. Can you hook up the magneto thing to a small battery? Like if I wanted to hook up some brake lights and what not to make my little mini bike look legit.
Yes, you can run it without a battery and the break light will work off of it alone, I suspect that if you hook it to a battery you would need something between it and the magneto to cap the voltage so it doesn't over charge it.
@@08cobra92 yes, and I got the smallest outdoor 30amp toggle o could find I took the led pod apart and found a spot it would clear own the inside, took a little dremal work but it all fit nicely, I'll try to get an update video soon
He forgot to remove the washer that’s behind the plastic gear that motor will be trashed quick... if you don’t know how to properly do something don’t make a video showing how to do things wrong and cause people to damage their motors
I was wondering if I skipped a step, I removed it but that part didn't make it through editing, but Chris is right, please take this video and use it as advice not a how to, they have plenty of how to's here on RU-vid that are detailed to a T, this was just to document how I did mine.
@@Rep361Texas it did.. never knew u could do that to a 212 honestly. I just prefer the 196 cuz it comes with it already and I feel they are more reliable then a predator motor. All I've had on mine were honda 196s just so I can wire lights for night rides
@@coryhiland7105 🤔 yeah I'm learning, and I bought the trike with the 212 so if just been playing with it ,but if I grenade it then I'll have to look into the 196 for sure, it just seems like the 212 has alot of mods and options on the market for such a cheep motor....
@@Rep361Texas of for sure, tons of mods. But I dont care to modify my motor if I can already do 50-60mph on my daily lol that's good enough for me. But meow days built 212s are old news in the racing events because everyone that races has a built big block, 460cc.
@@coryhiland7105 True true, I almost wanted to put a BB on the trike as well but I've noticed that with the little mods I've done it's almost over powering for the pvc's I know it sounds silly but I might it rides like it's on ice at full throttle, its actually more fun with less h.p.
