Interesting parts combo. The slide carb would be more useful with the 60 tooth. With the 40 tooth you lose useable RPM range. Unless he plans on getting a Juggernaut to use with the 40 tooth?

yeah we had a discussion about it. told him the 60t would really let him open up the engine compared to the 40t. but he does plan on going juggernaut very soon.
