First pregnancy, now at 24 weeks, and for the last week my round ligament pain has been persistent and worse at night. It was so bad one time I thought it was pre-term labor. Rest, supportive clothing and yoga have helped me manage it.
Hi Dr. Glad I found you. I’m 4 months this week and have not been able to walk. It feels like my bones are stiff down there cause pain when I walk so this video is helpful and has eased my worry. I didn’t experience any of this during my last 2 pregnancies.
I am 31 weeks pregnant and have had hypermobility my whole life which is exacerbated by pregnancy hormones like relaxin. I also have an asymmetry due to a severe right knee injury 6 years ago. I started going to a pelvic therapy, using a Serola belt and wearing compression thigh-highs. Basically, I have to make sure not to stand or sit too long in one position. I do stretches, but even doing that is hard because I'm incredibly exhausted all the time from anemia, lack of sleep, and constant urination. I'm 38 and this is my first baby. I can't wait to meet her. I've been really lucky to have not experienced any vomiting during this pregnancy and only a tiny bit of nausea so I think all the SA pain and exhaustion what's the hardest for me.
I am 14 weeks in my first pregnancy and for the past two weeks I have this really uncomfortable pain in my left butt cheek, about an inch or two from my crack. I think it's SI pain. The pain is no where else and kills me to change positions. I hear exercises help a lot! I like your video and how simply informative it is!
@@pleasantjoyteano8087 Congrats on the pregnancy! But sorry you're having that same pain. Doing exercises has helped me so far, as well as using more of a sumo squat when I bend over to get back up. Sounds funny, but helps a lot, especially squeezing my butt checks when I come up.
I have the exact same pain 14 weeks in. Exercise does help but stretching makes it better for a while. It doesn't completely disappear. ❤ it's a horrible sharp pain.
Round ligament pain is surprisingly painfull. Especially when I sneeze, cough or stand up after sitting for a while. I have also experienced pain in my belly button, idk if it's thr belly expanding quickly and stretching my belly button but that's how it feels like 😅
FTM here suffering from most of those at only 18 weeks. The only thing that started to help is seeing the chiropractor 2x a week. I see one specialized in pregnancy and it’s seriously wonderful!
Through my first pregnancy I never knew I had pubic symphysis dysfunction. I went to physical therapy at 9 months postpartum for SI joint pain, and ended up finding out I had the pubic symphysis dysfunction when I had an adjustment 8 weeks into PT and my pubic symphysis popped so loud that everyone in the office heard it 🤯🤣 it was a literal BOOM. I felt so much relief afterward. This pregnancy at 10 weeks along I’m in so much less pain than the first due to prepping with a large focus on daily physical therapy exercises for my back and core for over a year before getting pregnant again. I am hoping this lack of pain continues as I’m still performing my exercises (with pregnancy safe adjustments of course). I also had round ligament pain starting at about 12-13 weeks with my first and am now getting it AGAIN but a bit earlier at almost 10 weeks. Mine is just more of an achy nag that comes and goes. All in all, it is crazy how much you learn from your first and then subsequent pregnancies. I’m so thankful to be armed with this knowledge!
35 weeks pregnant with baby 4, really experiencing the sacroiliac joint pain 😫 unfortunately going to a physical therapist isn’t an option right now. Trying stretch, rest, and use heat to help best I can.
thank you so much for this, with chapters and pointing to where it is on your body! so reassurring, and informative. Ive only got one of these so far (round ligament), really looking forward to the others! LOL
I am currently 19 weeks pregnant at the beginning of my first trimester I had really bad round ligament pain and sciatica plus the sciatica would be so bad sometimes I couldn’t even walk right now I have pubic synthetic on rare occasions but my old friend sciatica had returned and man it ain’t fun
Is it possible to have round ligament pain even when not moving? I’ve been having pain in lower left side (definitely near round ligament area) 14 weeks pregnant. The pain is fairly constant today. Not cramping or scary but definitely annoying. Third pregnancy.
Almost 28 weeks along (first pregnancy) and the past couple weeks I've been dealing with SPD (confirmed by my OB this week) -looking for any ways I can relieve the pain or make it more tolerable because it has me in tears sometimes. Also just frustrating because no one I know has had it so they don't know what I'm talking about ☹️
My doctor said that I am having sciatic pain. But just to be sure, it’s not always in my thighs or back.. it started in my left thigh as a Cold tingle and numbness. Then it increased with pinching of the nerve in my left thigh and groin .. now I have it on both legs, I started to get pinched nerves around my groin area so where my inner thigh meets the pelvic bone. It feels like an ice cube is melting in my pocket, then I try to move around and sometimes the nerve will feel pinched and I get that burst of electricity throughout my legs and sometimes it goes to my chest and head..it’s so unbearable that I’ll sweat. As soon as I sit down it goes away and I stretch it out and rub the area.. it only happens when I am standing and I move around and jump from leg to leg to avoid it because I can feel it gradually getting worse the longer I stay in the position. When I am washing dishes or cooking or anything like that it will happen, this is my 4th pregnancy and I have never had this previously. Also, after about the 3rd month I developed carpal tunnel in my right wrist, after wearing the brace it is now at a manageable level of pain. However, I’ve been told that all of my nerve pain is a result of my pregnancy. In addition to the nerve pain, I also have extreme constipation and tightness and pressure but I only get it when I am super constipated and full. That causes me to eat a lot less, and when I had a cough the pain was sooo harsh that I tried to avoid coughing and put my hand on the sore spot and hope I didn’t pee myself. First was the right upper side of my belly and above my naval, it has now recently switched to the left upper side. I am 35 weeks and just this week my baby dropped out from under my rib cage just a bit, enough to help relieve the constipation and it has helped a lot with my constant heartburn. Even though I still feel the sharp pains from time to time I’d like to enjoy my 4th and last pregnancy, I have endured so much pain and discomfort this last trimester it has taken the joy out of being pregnant for me. Now I am ready for my baby girl to come, I don’t have much time left but I can’t get hardly anything done around the house and I sort of feel useless at times.
I'm expecting my 11th. My last full term pregnancy (#9) I severely seperated my pelvic bones and have SPD and I severely fractured my pubic bone. It took 3-4 months to heal and be able to walk more than 5 steps. What do I do? I can't see a pelvic support specialist due to no child care.
Thank you so much, Dr. Perez ! 27 weeks here, 2nd child. Round Ligament Pain on my end, especially if I get up too fast. Saccro Joint Pain also. and recently some discomfort in the upper back, more muscular it seems ? Probably from lifting my toddler 🤨
My low back pain is definitely worse this time around and I’m only 21 weeks! It’s triggered after lifting my toddler and worse going down stairs after I aggravate it. It sucks!
About the pelvis shown in the video: The angle in which the pelvis lies in our body it seems like we're supposed to have babies through the anus. I know I sound horrible but I just don't get it. My pelvic bones are just 6 cm apart from each other where a baby actually should come out, but broad enough further in the back. So there is no way I could have a natural birth without tearing half of my colon. Thank God (or medicine) for Cesarean Sections or I would fear pregnancy like death itself.
Hi, how are you feeling now? I’m around 20 weeks and the pain is killing me. Would love to get hope just by talking to someone because I literally face it alone
