PREGNANCY UPDATE! [Weeks 13 & 14] Weight Gain? Baby Clothes! 

A tip for wearing your same jeans and being comfortable is by unbuttoning them and looping a rubberband or thin hair tie through the hole where the button normally goes and securing it back around and onto the button if that makes any sense. I wore my jeans up to 6 months of my pregnancy 😊

Luvhhhh these updates :) I didn't start gaining till week 15, it was a slow steady incline until the big jumps in the 3rd trimester. To think in a couple more weeks you'll feel your first kicks, it's magical!!

my 1st child was a boy. easy delivery and pregnancy. i had him at 20 so having him young was great. he was a great kid.. but ugh teen years are here. thats when boys suck.. so enjoy each second. the days will feel like years and the years like days. it goes fast. congrats dani!

I live in So Cal, a very warm climate. My baby was born in April and she didn't wear any long sleeve onesies until November. She wore short sleeves and pants when she was in newborn size. In 0-3 month, she wore mostly skirts and shorts and short sleeves.

short sleeves. babies wear what you'd wear. you want scratch mittens for sure. if not use socks. their nails grow very fast. also, carter's and old navy have great online baby stuff.

Love the updates! I'm currently 27 weeks and I'm starting to feel the aches of third trimester creeping ... 2nd trimester was amazing!

Babies need warmer clothes in the very beginning, like under 4-6 weeks. They have a harder time regulating their temps at that age. So a little knit cap and socks and nightgowns are good until 4-6 weeks. But once they start gaining weight and their head grows you can dress them how you are dressed. The hand covers keep them from scratching their little face until their nails are bigger and you can trim them more easily. They change so much those first few weeks and they grow SO much! I'm a mom of four one of which was a NICU baby. So that's my perspective.

I didn't gain any weight until much later on in my pregnancy as well. I gained 16lbs in total and my daughter was 7lbs 13oz! No worries! Some women just don't carry a ton of extra weight. I tried to eat healthy and exercise and I think that helped!

Hey Dani! I absolutely loooove your channel! Im not a mum myself hahaha im still young, but I have experience eith new borns as my mum ran a daycare from my house. My advice is to have both short sleeved and long sleeved onesies, but he will probably prefer the short more. Its better to have him wear a short sleeved onesie and have baby blankets on standby as its easier to remove a blanket than a onesie and babys can be super fussy with temperatures x good luck and im in love with your updates! Glad you are feeling better and your levels are normal x best of luck!

My baby girl was born last June from my experience with baby clothes indoors I dressed her with long sleeves and at night especially because of the AC but outside on hot summer especially short sleeve is perfect! Hope this helps:)

I'm sure you get a ton of suggestions, but I had one clothes suggestion for you and one for your little guy. You: you should get a belly band for your jeans. It's an elastic band (like the top to yoga pants) that you wear over the top of your jeans. Just unbutton your pants and put the band over the top and you can wear your jeans longer and it's so much more comfy For your little guy: get him long sleeve gowns for when he sleeps. It'll keep him warm and comfy while he's sleeping. It's also great for late night diaper changing. All of my babies lived in them for a few months.

I love these updates! my baby was born in Sept and she wore short sleeves but long pants a big sunhat and a light blanket outdoors :) also I'm the same way with baby boy clothes I only like grey white and other neutrals haha

Do not spend so much money on baby clothes. You only need enough of certain selections, plus backups for when he might throw up etc. Babies grow up really fast. Expect the clothes to not fit him within a short time frame. You don't need clothes of every style and color. You don't want to bother the baby by changing him just to fit your own need of what you like. the baby needs to be relaxed and comfortable. I really dislike when people spend so much money and question why there are running out. New borns are only so small for a short time. Don't buy clothes for the baby for every age he'll be at. Just watch the baby grow, notice how much bigger he is getting and go buy what you need throughout the process of your baby growing. Be smart about how you spend the money, I have a good feeling you will be smart about it. I see people buying dozens of clothes for there newborns and end up not using a lot of it, and there that money goes to waste. Wait to shop until you get all your gifts, so then you know what you need and don't need, instead of buying what people have gifted you. You'll save money that way. I hope this helps others.

Hi Dani Having long sleeves are good for newborns as they get cold easily, especially if you have air conditioning in your home, at least at night long sleeves are good to have. As well, I found that sleep sacks are really great especially for newborns, they also have them in a muslin fabric which is really great for summer time. They are also great for in the car seat as they are breathable but also keep the baby sheltered from the wind and sun (whether you're out of a walk or in the car). I just found out that I'm expecting our third baby and we are due in late august... very exciting. It's been nice to watch your journey as well, I remember my first baby and pregnancy so fondly (even though it didn't go o' so smoothly). In the last year I have become a vegetarian so its been interesting watching your journey as a vegan as well. thanks for sharing.... and we are here to help you along your journey as well.

The baby will be just as warm or cold as you are. You will want short sleeves in onsies. You can always layer.

Target has some really cute baby boy clothes! Short sleeve onesies are awesome, just bring a swaddle blanket with you to keep the chill away. Adan and Anais have some adorable swaddle blankets. My sister in laws use them as a nursing cover and my boys (that are now 6 and 8) use swaddle blankets as capes lol

Yes! I totally sympathize on the belly not creasing where it used to when I bend. My pre-pregnancy loungewear pants still fit but they instantly roll down when I try to bend. Bending is way harder. I wore some sandals with a buckle on the outer ankle and I was seriously winded after trying to buckle those.

I've had 3 kids, and I've learned that if you're comfortable then your baby is, if you're hot, than most likely he is too, and the same for if you're cold.. unless it's really hot, just keep a thin hat on his head, babies can usually regulate their own temperature pretty well. just make sure you feel his skin every so often to make sure he's not cold n keep a blanket on hand at all times. you'll learn as you go! congrats on your baby boy!!!

Check out lists on Pinterest or articles about what you REALLY need at first... for example you don't need a high chair in the beginning! I live in a small space and following that really helped me from getting overwhelmed! Love your updates! I'm 12 weeks with my 2nd ❤

Omg! So I don't have kids myself, but I have 2 nieces and 3 nephews, and let me tell you, you have to get used to baby boy clothes. There is literally NOTHING for them haha. There are so many options and designs for girls, but nothing for boys. All they have is stripes 😂 so yeah sorry to break it to you, but you will notice a trend when buying clothes for him. Hopefully you can find a couple good finds tho! 🤞🏼

I'd get baby boy some longer sleeve ones just for sleeping in and at home where it may be cooler, but you can always wrap him in a blanket if need be.

Leggings are a pregnant women's best friend. I have been living in them since the beginning of my pregnancy, it's the only thing that I feel comfy in at this stage, I am 28 weeks (wich is the beginning of the third trimester by the way). My favorites are the non compressive ones from lululemon, I like them better than maternity leggings, I just got a size up that I usually do and I don't have to pull them up all the time like the maternity ones I have.

Dani, you definitely want to start early and be consistent with moisturizing. It's not a guarantee (but they fade and they can be a beautiful reminder of your bond with your baby, what you've been through together) - genetics, nutrition and hydration play a part - but when skin can stretch so quickly you want to have the routine down. It's sweet that Austin helps you. One tip: other than the belly, you want to moisturuze breasts, the sides of your abdomen, and your behind - essentially all body parts that would be covered by a high neck, low back bathing suit. Also, in addition to coconut oil, vitamins A, E, and C are helpful, as are organic creams with sunflower oil. And if you want a nice gift for yourself, check out Miranda Kerr's line of moisturizing creams which she used during her pregnancy. They're pricey but very nice. Congratulations. Keep feeling good.

I bought footy pajamas for both of my children, wanting to make sure they stayed warm. Both broke out in a heat rash from the jammies 😬😬

Depending on how hot it is, I wouldn't put him in long sleeves. My son was born in September and where I live, it's still massively hot. We put him in the little carters jump suits. Short sleeve onsies and little pants. However, at home we would just put him in a onesie!(:

I'm super picky about what my baby boy wears too! I felt like such a brat when I waned to return outfits I got haha :) so exciting. Target has a brand Cat and Jack that has really cute boy stuff! I'm trying to use small shops more now so I recommend poking around on instagram to find some. I bought some grow with me leggings from Moosecorner that were sooooo cute. Ok I'm done haha :)

oh, and early preventative measures for stretch marks is actually a good thing.. I'm really tiny.. when I first got pregnant at 20, I only weighed 90lb n I'm only 4'7", so I thought for sure I'd get stretch marks, n I've had 3 kid's n I n haven't gotten one single stretch mark, and I think it's cause I kept my skin really moisturized from the very beginning!

You should dress your baby how you are dressed. If your wearing a tshirt and shorts, they're fine wearing a short sleeve onsie and shorts.

I am the same with the baby clothes. girls have so many cute things. it's hard for me to choose boy clothes. I'm only 10 weeks and don't even know what I'm having yet though. lol

So I was overweight when I got pregnant but I am 17 weeks and have actually lost 8-10 pounds since the start of my pregnancy which I am happy about lol. My doctor says its fine too since I was overweight to begin with they really only want me to gain 10-20 pounds total anyways.

I know it was a few videos back but do you remember the brand of bralettes that you ordered off of amazon? And are they specifically for pregnant women? Lol I just thought they looked cute and comfy and I hate bras :P

I lost weight in pregnancy because I was no longer drinking wine and eating healthier too! But I put on 8 pounds in the last 5 weeks haha.. but that was the only weight I gained the whole time.

Get a variety of sizes when you buy clothes! They grow out of them way faster than you would expect :/

how tall are you girly? we are almost the same weight...also, from my experience, women pregnant with boys don't gain AS MUCH weight. especially if they are eating really healthy :)

hate them with the lotion around your breast along like you your shoulders and your side of your breast your when your breast get bigger from pregnancy they do create stretch marks
